Daffy’s Great Duck Hunt - Day 1Username: BiscuitTheDog
Buttermilk: CarmiePrompt:Hooves pounded over grass as Carmie galloped through the thin part of the crowd, her yellow eyes set on the waggling butt of a runaway duck. the cows in this part spread out, making way for the brown heifer. Carmie's hooves were almost in reach of the duck's tail! If she just reached forward-
bonk!Carmie stumbled backwards. She'd ran into the behind of another bovine without looking. A large gray bull turned around, nostrils flaring. "Watch where you're going!" he yelled.
Carmie gulped, skittering away. The duck had disappeared from view. Now, it could only be under the crowd's legs. This portion of the crowd was the densest, with cows barely having room to move. Carmie didn't know where this crowd was headed, but she was determined to get that darned duck.
Carmie took a deep breath and raced through an opening that came up. She powered forward but was always stopped by the complaining of short-tempered crowd members or the occasional sugar-high calf that charged udner the crowd's feet. Carmie knew that msot of the younger calves would be delighted to chase a duck, but she'd just have to find-
oof! The crowd had stopped. Carmie grimaced. Perhaps she could talk her way through. But there was just one problem with that- talking. Carmie flicked her tail and shouldered closer to a short, cream-colored heifer.
"H-hey," Carmie mumbled. The cream heifer glanced up before scooting to the side a bit. She eyed Carmie. "Do I know you?" She asked with an edge to her voice.
Dang, this crowd sure was in an annoyed mood today.
If Carmie could sweat, she'd have been sweating by know. She looked at the cream heifer, he mind racing. "U-um, have you seen a duck? I-it- Um, it's a big duck, and it's white and mean-"
the cream heifer snorted. "Darling, if there were a duck, I'd have seen it by now."
Carmie found that incredibly hard to believe. One could barely look down at the ground without bumping into the cow in front of them or bumping into any of the other cows around them.
"Darn my terrible social skills!" Carmie muttered angrily to herself under her breath. The brown heifer attempted to navigate out of the crowd by backing up. "Perhaps I can get around this crowd and find the duck from there."
She moved a single step backwards and ended up stepping on a cow's toes.
"OUCH!" A black heifer behind her yelped. "WATCh where you're going!!" It yelled.
Carmie gulped and dipped her head in embarrassment. She huffed and looked up. Stretching her head, she realized this crowd was quite big, and would only get bigger.
There was no way Carmie could get out. All she could do was ask around. Maybe if she asked nicely enough, she could make her way to the front.
But, as aforementioned, Carmie sorely sucks at small talk, or any talk, for that matter.
The heifer's ears drooped as she let out a defeated sigh. All she could do now was wait.
