Mousy was sitting at the docks trying to enjoy the peaceful weather to help keep her awake doing the month's paperwork for the elders. Skip and Scamp, a pair of twins that liked to play with her, ran up in a tumble of words exclaiming about a giant rat they saw running off with one of the two-leg's fried pies that were left in the window to cool. In their tumble of words they also tumbled right across the pile of paperwork and knocked it right into the water. They all froze. '..oops..,' muttered one of the twins. Mousy reigned in her internal panic and decided to look at the brighter side, at least she was done with paperwork for the day. She turned to the two and said "It will be alright, I'll take care of it." Smiling she asked what they were trying to say again, and guided them back towards the barn.
Later, Mousy was confronted about where the paperwork had gone to. "You wouldn't believe it sir!" she exclaimed. "I'm sure I won't, but go on," he sighed. Mousy gave him her best wide-eyed look and said, "I was working on the papers on a hill near the lake. Some rats came by carrying warm pies and scampering about. I tried to swat them away with a roll of the papers, but they took them as well! They folded them into paper airplanes and boats. Some gliding off into the wind while others floating away on the lake with their treasures like little pirates." He looked at her saying, "'Little pirates' you say? I'm sure little pirates did, though I don't know if they were the same ones." Mousy gave him another pleading and sorrowful look, "I'm sorry sir, I'll help rework the papers by the end of the week." He sighed, "See that you do," and turned flicking his tail in dismissal. Mousy held in her grin as best she could and scampered out of the office.
Running up to the barn she called for Skip and Scamp. They came out from hiding in some nearby hay asking if she was in trouble. She just gave them a grin saying, "How would you like to go get some pies?" Their faces lit up and they all ran off towards a sweet smell.

(Oh my word.. I only realized after posting I went over the limit! I got caught in my own story.. I can trim it down..?)

Prompt: Silverwind was an explorer, which meant she was supposed to go out with Dragonstar and the other explorers on patrols. However, she often chose to "forget" about the patrols, as was the case today.
"SILVERWIND!" Dragonstar yelled at the female, who was lounging in one of the dens. "You were supposed to go out today. Why were you not part of the patrol?"
Silverwind yawned. "I forgot there was a patrol today," she answered simply. "And besides, I don't need to be on every patrol."
"That's besides the point," Dragonstar replied.
"Whatever," Silverwind mewed, snuggling in closer. "I just forgot, ok?"
Dragonstar narrowed her eyes, but decided to ignore the obvious excuse. "Be there next time, ok, Silverwind?"
Silverwind nodded. After Dragonstar was out of sight, Silverwind turned to the male in the den with her. "She believed it!" crowed the blue solid.
"That was a close one," said the male, known as Leopardfluff. "Too close."
"Oh, come on, Leopardfluff! Lighten up; it was fun!" replied Silverwind. She hadn't forgotten the patrol as she claimed; instead she and Leopardfluff had been spending time getting to know one another in her den. They'd been about to head out and explore the lands by themselves when Dragonstar had burst in, angry about the missed patrol.
"I suppose so," said Leopardfluff. "But I don't feel like doing that ever again. Please try and go on the next patrol?"
Silverwind sighed. "Ok."
Leopardfluff knew the plan was unlikely to work; Silverwind was always skipping patrols. It was just her nature!

Blistering red skies loomed upon his armoured shoulders as his feet thudded across the ground. Footprints akin to boots stepping upon the blackened snow trailed behind him as he ran; his chest heaved with rattled breaTh as he pushed himself more than he'd ever done before. The open field made the distance seem to grow with every step, time feeling like he was trudging through honey on a cold winter's morning. Soldiers stepped aside as he ran past, some in confusion, others with a knowing look of pity Lethe wasn't ready to face.

The hem of his pants and the leather of his boots were turning a sickening grey. The ash from the ground stuck to his clothes like a cruel reminder as he dashed forward, stopping for nothing. There was nothing more important than this. When he finally reached what he'd been running for, he fell to his knees with a sickening thud; the force of his body was enough to send a crack through the morbid quiet that fell upon the fallen battlefield. Those left standing - the horrifyingly few around him - flinched at the sound, turning to look at the pitiful man before them.

Lethe's shaking hands sifted through the ash, brushing across it delicately as he searched. Pleading prayers fell from his lips like blood from an open wound, begging for this harsh nightmare to be nothing more than some evil dream. To be anything but the harsh reality that had burned his men into nothing more than the dark black clouds slowly settling beneath his feet. A wet, broken sob tore through his throat as bloodied fingers fluttered over the metal he'd been searching for. He couldn't get his fingers to work, couldn't stop the tremours making it impossible to pick up the dog tags he'd found.

The world went silent. The world had nothing to say.

Before it roared back to life in a cry of agony, a wail of anguish so deep, so unadulterated in its pain that the battlefield fell to its knees with him. Memories poured through, a wordless reminder of a young boy who worshiped his brother enough to follow him blindly into an unwinnable war.

This was the agony of Lethe, The Wolf of the Southern Mountains. This was his pain, his newfound reminder that he had a reason to keep going; he needed to bring his brother home, after all.

emotion: The most important emotion to Faust is fear. This specific emotion is important to him because fear is quite literally what Faust feeds on it's what he craves the most. Think of him as a vampire that instead of draining the blood from his prey he drains the fear from them. But fear isn't just what Faust feeds on its also how he was created. A rumor of a terrifying fear consuming monster spread like wildfire among the fables of Mystic Falls and at the time that's all they were rumors, but as more fable's heard the rumors more fable's began to believe the rumors to be true and with belief comes fear and from that collective fear a being was born...a being that many would come to know as Faust the Devourer of fear. With his creation the fables of Mystic Falls truly had something more than just rumors to fear and Faust took advantage of that to prefect his hunting strategy, he'll lure unexpecting fable's in by charming them and once he's gotten his prey isolated he strikes and scares the living daylights out of them finally getting the emotion he so desires and craves. So you see this is why fear is so important to Faust, without fear he wouldn't exist and now without fear he'll go hungry and that's the last thing Faust wants to happen to himself.
