Her Connection to Plants wrote:
Plants are both Marah’s livelihood and her passion. From a young age, she’s been enamored with them, always picking bunches of flowers to press and put in vases, and attempting to grow things from any seeds she could get ahold of.
As she grew and began her schooling, Marah began actually studying plants, learning the workings of both the normal and magical flora of her world. She even spent a couple years abroad, collecting hundreds of plant specimens- clippings, buds, vines, and seeds, all overflowing from her bags so that she could bring them along. Marah finally put down her roots in the city of Nievahal, a bustling place of scholars and mages. Surely she’d find some way to make a name for herself here.

Even for a city overflowing with magic, Marah’s Herbarium was an unusual sight. A tall, almost crooked building it was, with creeping vines and bright flowers overflowing from every one of its many windows.
Atypical, perhaps, but Marah loved every inch of the place. How far she had come since first moving here- she’d turned this place from a rundown old shack into the bright, warm, blooming place it was now. She gave a happy sigh, inhaling the scents of the flowers and fruits bursting all around her.
Marah had indeed made a name for herself in the city of Nievahal- it had been a rough start, but with the help of a few intrigued sponsors she’d been able to start this place up. Now she was pretty much self-sufficient, able to care for both herself and her plant menagerie by selling things like pollen, seeds, and dried flower buds- which, since many of them came from magical plants, tended to have unique properties of their own. Marah always spent a great deal of time studying these substances and their properties before releasing them to her customers. A number of mages throughout the city were extremely loyal customers of hers, always buying samples of any new substances she released.
Marah wound her way between shelves of plants, nudging curling stems and broad leaves aside as she went, and patting the heads of any hopeful blossoms that poked her way- some of the plants, magical as they were, almost seemed sentient at times, and she considered them almost like pets, or friends.
“You’re looking lovely today,” she said brightly, stroking the head of a beautiful pink-gold Sunblossom as the passed. The flower seemed to swell with pride, emitting a small aura of light.
“Watch yourself, now,” she scolded gently as a Cat-nip plant snapped playfully at her ankles. Some of the plants she had almost needed to be trained or tamed before being placed in the main body of the shop- the upstairs floor, where Marah lived, also played host to a collection of plants who weren’t quite safe to keep around customers yet.
Marah finally made her way to the front area of the shop- a more open space where Viscets could mill about, examining her products or seedlings for sale- or bartering with her. Marah was always eager to see what plants travelers had to offer- she’d received many fascinating new plants for her Herbarium by trading with Viscets who’d come from abroad.
Yes, Marah’s life was certainly a vibrant one, thanks to her plants. And she loved every second of it.
