Prompt Writing:: Entry One wrote:"I am not yet familiar with this planet I have crash landed on. It seems I am stuck for the time being, so I think I will explore the land."
Entry Two wrote:"There were two viscets of the native land who approached me on the beach when I landed. They had kin with them, a small female it seems. I do not know how that is possible, they both seem to be male."
Entry Three wrote:"Oh my. Where do I begin. These viscets are very strange. I find their language fascinating. They have what they call "slang" words... they just shove words together. I heard 'slang' is a 'slang word' meaning short language. Hmm. It is very confusing. Before the visclings only had to learn the difference between 'their' and 'there' but now they have to know 'they're' too. Absurd. Absolute nonsense if you ask me. The jokes they tell for humor: I do not understand them. They get a goofy smile every time they make what they call a 'pun' but I do not get why. Aside from their language and humor, generally their whole behavior is off. I must experiment with their surroundings and get data to see what is 'dumbing them down.' Did I use that right? Hmph. I 'don't' know."
Entry Four wrote:"Hali told me I 'looked like a wet space hamster.' What is a hamster? Where can I find one?"
Entry Five wrote:"They are surely going to be wiped out sooner or later. I wonder if they have any predators on this land... Honestly, I do not know about this kind. They are too laid back. I do not understand. Should they not be cautious. Where is their planet's ruler? Their orders?!
The way they behave and act around possible danger: Oh my. I mean, the way those two treated me. They saw my ship crash and instead of (logically) running away and calling their leader, they approached me... and helped me. They did not even stop to think that I may be dangerous. They showed no fear, even after seeing how different I looked. Maybe it was because they too looked different than the others on their planet. I am perplexed by their generosity towards me. They not only helped me by sharing their useful knowledge, but they gave me a sleeping quarter and sheltered me. They gave me their food and cared for me. Overall I find the native viscets' behavior 'and such' fascinating."
Entry Six wrote:"Kephas and Hali, as they are called, are both now allies of mine I think. Friends of mine... I think. I might stay here. Do some research, collect daya, and meet more of the viscets on this planet. Maybe they will let me stay with them for a while. Savannah-E9 will not miss me. My original mission can be put on hold for the time being. I think I like it here."
Extra One & Two:: Entry Seven wrote:"Kephas, Laney, Hali, Keto. Four names I will remember forever.
I still have the rest of my life to experience great things- changing things. No matter how big whatever this great thing might be, nothing will ever compare to that one planet... those four viscets."
Entry Eight wrote:"I was in a rush last entry. I had no time to finish. Now that there is peace, I will elaborate on what I said before.
Kephas was strange- his appearance was, anyway. It seemed to be grass! His mane was vastly different than all the others, even Hali's mane. But he wasn't even afraid to show it. He didn't cover up his grass mane. He wasn't afraid of his difference and accepted it... maybe that is why he accepted me- because we are both different from the set 'normal' on this planet. Laney: she was young, estatic, and facinated by me. She showed me around the town with no problem while her parents followed along and helped. She did not seem the least bit concerned about not having a mother, even though the other visclings I saw did indeed have parents of the opposite gender. Laney loved her fathers and did not mind their platonic relationship. She accepted them as them and did not care that she did not have a mom, that was because she had them, and she said that they are all she needs. Hali taught me you have to try new things, be open to ideas. He was the most experimental of them all when building my ship, and since he hated failure, he continued on to find a different solution every time. Hali was open to me, said I was like a 'dorky little brother.' Hali did not care about me being from a different planet, barely noticed when interacting with me it seems. He acted a lot of questions and took me on small adventures, ones he says he has not even done himself. Maybe that was why he was not afraid of me- because he was so open to new ideas. Keto taught me that you do not have to 'go with the flow.' I asked her about garments and accessories viscets here wear, and she showed me things she had. She explained how she took apart things she had and made them into something else. Keto also showed me typical accessories, which looked nothing like what she had. Digging through a pile, she found some interesting silks that she said she made for fun but never wore as 'they didn't look good on her.' I think they would have, but she insisted I tried them on since she would not. She told me they looked very beautiful on me, and the silky feathers on the shoulder piece matched and balanced out the feathers on me. She said that the pieces were not her style, and she only wears things that she likes, not that what everyone else is wearing.
All four taught me that things that are not normal are still wonderful. It is okay to look different, to have a different family. It is okay to try new things and fail, and you should try to be unique while staying true to yourself."
Extra Three:: When Rex hatched from his egg and first opened his eyes, it shouldn't have been a surprise that the viscling revealed his father's blue eyes since his father too had eyes that were ringed with deep azure and seafoam. But it was very much a shock to the two viscets who hovered over Rex and were observing him. Neither of them knew that she actually carried the increasingly-rare recessive traits that made those blue eyes. It is more than uncommon for the native viscets of his planet, Savannah-E9, to have blue eyes, especially bright, sky blue eyes, and even rarer for them to be passed down. It isn't even just blue, any shades of color in the cooler end of the scale, forest greens, lavenders and purples are all pretty rare too. So that is what sets Rex apart from the other visclings on his home planet.
Extra Four:: [His Concept]
Rex is an "alien," or at least to the planet all my other viscets live on. He lives on another planet named Savannah. Savannah is a lot smaller than our earth, and thus has a smaller population. Like our planet, Savannah-E9 has one moon. Instead of just being called "the moon," it has an actual name, which is Skauter. The entire planet is ruled by a queen. She is very strict and rumor has it that her heart is literally made of stone. The queen has ruled for ages, so that really was just a fable that got overly exaggerated and told to the point where it became to be believed more fact that fiction. The queen has guards and cooks and servants- she really gas it all. Only the best of the best. Those are the highest jobs. There is the military, and though it is more than small it is excellently trained to the point where each viscet seems to act as ten. Those are the jobs of highest nobility. There are many lower ranked jobs, too many to list obviously.
Rexanyx has a very common job, one of the lowest ranking jobs there is. It is a basic job, but he enjoys it and it pays enough, so all is good. This job is collecting data. What kind of data you ask? Well, any type of data! Every type of data! It literally does not matter. A few viscets have gotten away with monitoring really stupid things that end up being useful, like how Rex's first observation was on a "neighboring" planet, which they were on bad terms with, and he noted how often and how fast an empty tin can in an empty lot moved. This data seemed entirely useless, but they in fact took it as valuable information to track wind speeds on the planet for possible war use, like aiming at targets and such. Honestly, the job is really random and sometimes unnecessary, but the queen is thirsty for knowledge and a real bookworm. Living for hundreds of centuries, she wanted new discoveries, and thus that she wanted a team for new information to look over, and has published informational books with it. Some of the information goes to schools for science and math courses.
Rex stays out of way of natives when doing his job, as he typically dislikes observing viscets.
Extra Five::While on a mission to confirm a valuable set of data that could lead to a pay raise, Rexanyx was careful to make sure everything went right. It seemed to be that being careful simply wasn't enough, as his plane-like ship malfunctioned and started to fall before he could safely land. Thankfully he was over a large body of deep water, and could jump out the emergency exit right before a bumpy and uncomfortable impact. Unfortunately, the flotation devices did not go off and his ship went down, sinking with all his belongings, except for what he had in the, fortunately, water-proof bag he grabbed on his frantic way out. He had his data and personal belongings, all he really needed. Rex swam out to the small beach that he crashed near and found some viscets watching the whole thing. The viscets introduce themselves as Kephas, Hali and Laney, explaining they were hanging out on the beach and saw what just happened. Kephas and Hali awkwardly welcomed Rex and even show him around the town. They introduce him to Keto. Rex gives them the full story and tells him about his planet, surprised that they don't also go looking for other planets with life much. Hali welcomed Rex to stay in his pirate-like ship until they can fix Rex’s spaceship, which Rex ended up retrieving by pushing it out once he got the flotation devices to work. By the time it is done being fixed, Rex has strong feelings towards the planet and wants to stay with them longer, but understands he cannot as they have Laney to care for and with Keto being Hali's new girlfriend, that would be too much to keep on the ship- he wouldn't have a room to permanently stay in. Rex stays to complete his mission, and leaves to return it to his home world. Rexanyx even bought a phone to find the location of the four so he can find them. He does go to other planets, but none as much as theirs. He now frequently visits the four whenever he can and does data collecting during his stays. He has fun with the data and Laney: her showing him different contests like the fluffy-bunny challenge. Even though it turned out good, he still only hopes he won't crash in a more dangerous situation.
