N A M E S A R E W H A T D E F I N E U SKaliska translates directly to coyote chasing deer in tribal language.Within the tribe names are symbolic and anyone who isn't a full grown member is assigned the family name. When Kaliska was a young one her family name is Shuman which means rattlesnake handler because of her family's fur color. There's a huge ceremony when they turn of age with name changing and other activites. She was named Kaliska based off her role as a hunter and her independent and perceptive personality.

▐It was the fifth moon of the year. Shuman and the others of her age circled around their den. Some nervous some excited. Each of them afraid. Shuman wandered what the ceremony would be like. She knew that each ceremony was different. For the past five moons she had been in her own part of the jungle with the others. When they reach twelve moons the young in her tribe were sent out into an area of the jungle to fend for themselves and establish order and self-efficiency. All training was given in the twelve moons and everyone gave their wishes as they left. As to be excpected an order was made. A leader, Ahiga, and his advisor and then their Shaman which was the only rank predetermined, as it had special rules and skills. She was in the top running for advisors but was marked as a warrior instead. They were at first going to have warriors and hunters, but their group was small and consisted of only eleven of them, so the warriors and hunters were merged. Every now and then full pack members would come observe. It was a tough five moons but they finally got to return back home. Four had died in the moons. Two of them Shuman's friends. Ibn and Cura were on a gathering mission for supplies but were attacked by a deadly snake. They both said it was okay and just hurt a little. But, the Shaman tried their best an couldn't save them. Ever since Shuman had been ashamed of her pelt. Now, they got to go home without more tragedy. The omega, Dibe was shaking as she would probably not pass. Then the true Shaman of the tribe came, Inola. She spoke quietly but clearly,"May those who have survived well and strong proceed to become full members of the tribe. Inola brought us to the camp and we were congratulated. The parents of Ibn, Cura, and the other two that had died fell shocked of their deaths and cried. We were rushed into a keeping den to keep vigil until moon-high. Dibe broke down and started silently crying while Ahiga wore a proud face. Eventually the time came and Inola took us to a cave. Inola turned and said, now then which one of you is the omega. Dibe stepped forward and Inola looked her over. You, you, do not get to pass the test. You shall be sent back to camp now and live as an omega with the name Dibe. Dibe fell weakly to the floor, but rose and shakily went back to camp. Inola shook her head and then led the rest of us inside. She spoke which one of you shall be first and Ahiga went in deeper. A while later Inola emerged again and called one Plumerian in at a time. Eventually, Shuman's turn came. She wandered inside after Inola and was brought deeper into the cave. It was dark at first but then there was a strange red glow. Shuman's mouth dropped as she saw fireflys painted red fluttering around. Inola let out a chuckle and Shuman looked back down to notice that the leader of their tribe and other high ranks rested amongst them. Along the walls of the cave were red paw prints. The tribe leader,Yanaha, spoke first,"Shuman, you have reached the age and skill of a full grown. Your marked as a hunter, and a good one as well. She added a dot under her eye, the mark of a hunter. Shuman bowed her head and turned to the next Plumerian. Bidziil, the advisor, spoke you are now full grown, you are strong and smart. He drew a line above the dots on her wrist. Shuman bowed her head and turned to the elder chosen, Sani. He spoke in trembling voice,"You are going to do great things one day. I grant you my blessing.Remember dear, the sun always pulls through." he reached to Kaliska's eye and added a dot then reached her shoulder proceeding to add a dot for the first ray of sunlight. Next the prophet, Chazona, spoke,"The spirits grant you with something great. Remember not to let inner darkness take over. Your name shall be one of a hunter and survivor, a coyote. A coyote always chasing a deer, Kaliska. Kaliska the coyote chasing deer." the plumerians stood in a circle and made grunts and sounds of congratulations. Inola gave her one of the bowls of red paint and Kaliska knew what to do. She stuck the surface of her paw in it and then made her mark on the great wall. Inola smiled and led her down to the darkest part of the cave where a red glowing mass laid. "Kaliska, go and lay your paw to it." she did so and fell instantly asleep amongst the others of her age. She was flung into a world of wander and spirits. Here is where the story must end as the rest is sacred. And cannot be retold.

►color The color of the mark is red for identification of her tribe, in the area there are many different tribes. The ancestors of such tribes me and decided on their tribal colors. Her tribe chose red because it reprsents spoils of war and hunting. It's the color of physical ability and skill with the hands.
►head The mark on her head serves the purpose of aligned chakras, only experienced and full grown members of the tribe are given this mark and it symbolizes status, wisdom, and acceptance by the spirits.
►eye The eye marking is one only hunters receive and starts as one mark at the bottom of the eye and the first added when tribe members surpass the role of beginner. Dots are gradually added and each one represents something, after the first they represent, blessing, obedience, loyalty to the hunting group, quick thinking, physical ability, intelligence, and independance. Kaliska is the head hunter in her tribe and has received the full mark with the last being leadership. It only surrounds one eye as the shaman has a similar marking except on both eyes.
►wrist The mark on the wrist is given to every member of the tribe. The full line at the bottom marks loyalty to the tribe. The dots represent vanity and is the only mark anyone can get that involves self-worth as her tribe rejects those that are narcissistic. The next line is given to those who surpass there apprenticeship and are full members of the tribe as growth is a main focus of the tribe. The top line is given to those of high status and has no deep meaning.

►independent Kaliska is very independent and refuses to rely on others. This is both a good and bad thing as her teamwork skills are sub-par. However, she's very good on her own and if she were to be separated from a patrol she can handle things on her own. She works better alone and has always been this way. She tends to find flaw in others and it gets to her making working with people even harder than for most.
►quiet She tends to keep to herself. Kaliska follows the rule of don't speak unless spoken too, on her own account of course. Unless she's giving orders or feels very strongly about something she tends not to talk. Her silence isolates her, but she doesn't realize it. She likes to hear others thoughts before she speaks upon said matter. She does this so that if her opinion is swayed she doesn't have to correct herself.
►observant Due to her silence she gets to watch others speak. She notices the way they talk and has a bad tendency to point out their 'flaws' of course she would never say it to their faces. Afterward, she always feels guilty thinking of others that way. Kaliska notices small things as well, 'hunters instinct' she calls it. It ranges from a twitching ear to a tapping of a paw and all the little things.
►intuitive Kaliska above all trusts herself and her instincts. Beyond everything even orders she has a strong sense of right and wrong. She stays true to herself even in the darkest of moments. It's one if her most prominent traits and she follows it. Her intuition is also overpowering and even small things like a gut feeling can sway her mind. She trusts and learns from it. It's helped her through many hunts and situations.
►intimidating Kaliska has a dangerous vibe. It's a thing she experienced as a hunter. She has the idea of a leader needing to be feared over loved. She keeps a scarier image than she should and comes off as unapproachable. She is the leader of the hunters and can be a little harsh. After all, one step on a branch could lose a herd of deer.
►ambitious Kaliska often bites off more than she can chew and tends to overlook things and move on. She sometimes becomes fixated on a goal or opportunity so that she refuses better ones. She comes off as rash during these moments and when she makes a mistake due to her ambition she tends to look over things too much. Searching out oppurtunities. She is yet to find the best balance for herself.
►lonely Due to some of her traits she tends to push or scare plumies away. She often finds herself lonely within the tribe. For some ceremonies there are competitions and she finds herself being picked on teams for her skill not her. She hasn't yet realized some of her flaws and questions herself whenever things like that happen. She's not a total outsider, but doesn't have a close circle of friends that she wants to have.
►repudiating She refuses help from others. There isn't a direct reason to this it just is. She's afraid of someone having to pick her up when she falls. She's overly independent and refuses to put a 'burden' on others. She's become isolated and plumies know that she will refuse their offers. Some still try, but Kaliska just sees it as if they're pitying her. This one of her worst traits and she wants to change it, but doesn't know how.

In the tribe they're very devoted to the tribe and not to themselves. They frown upon vanity and look toward humility. Accepting and being at peace with your flaws. Out of all their markings only one is centered towards themselves. The dots on her wrist that every member receives. It represents self worth. Kaliska is troubled in this area. She finds herself looking in puddles and lakes and rivers to see herself. At first she rejected it, as taught, but as she grew she began it question the tribes principles. She was out hunting and stumbled upon a tiny but clear puddle. She looked into it and thought about herself. She wondered about her looks and spent the next few days comparing herself to others. She got a bad image of herself and thought the tribe was right. A while later she looked into a river nearby and saw herself as beautiful. Ever since then she looks at her reflection more pointing out both flaws and perfections. She's still learning to love herself, but is on the pathway there.

►Ahri xxxKaliska awaited her prey, silently. She knew the time was right, keen on the bird of choice. The great Bustard, the largest bird in their lands, would be present in large flocks to breed. A smirk traced her lips as she awaited to hear the familiar call and see the nostalgic plumage. Looming in the shadows, her senses were honed and her ears perked, eager to hunt, but the scent that came to her senses was that of another plumerian, and not a familiar one. Her eyes shot over to catch the intruder, immediately looking to the ankles for the identifying mark, but what she saw wasn't of any tribe she recognized. After a moment of debate, she came to the quick conclusion this one was of the northern tribe. She marked the time based on the sun and realized it would be a while till a warrior patrol came through. She sprung into action, lunging onto the other's back, her paws meeting tough, hairless skin, only to have her world flipped over as she was slammed into the ground, pinned without any effort by the towering trespasser, their eyes glaring down at her with a cold fire. Being much closer now, she could tell all the fine details in this being. It's size was unnatural for any tribe member, and it was covered in tattoos, not paint, along with a collar bound around it's neck. It's lips drew back and out came a resonating, demanding voice that boomed:
"State your motive"
She struggled to free herself, but the weight on her made her attempts futile, the plumerian not seeming to notice her attempts, just staring, unerringly, at Kaliska with no mercy.
"You're an intruder! You're trespassing on my tribe's territory! Go back to the Norhern tribes!" She spat.
"I am of no tribe. I am an Oriikae guardian, Ahrimahra Oriikae, born and raised as such under the Oriikae family household" The plumerian stated firmly, baffling Kaliska for a moment as she stared up at the other, processing this information.
"Then what of your mark?"
"My testament to my purpose" The plumerian stated.
It was not long before the two had settled and conversed on the situation. Both from different cultures with different lives, but with a common motive and a mutual ground. Ahri was unnerved by the other's ability to gain an advantage over her with stealth, and pressed the other for their knowledge and was very adamant about learning this technique and how to detect it. Kaliska, on the other hand, was eager to learn to fight as Ahri had, as it had easily disabled her, so simplistically. There spurred a mutual agreement to exchange this knowledge the first quarter of every two moons.
►Venus xxxKaliska wandered through the forest immersed in thought. She walked along the borders of tribe territory staying firmly on her side. Marking the edge of her tribes territory was a traveling path for messengers to travel along. She took in a sharp breath emerging from her mind and decided to keep strolling along, as it was a nice day. All of a sudden she noticed a Plumerian walking on the path. Kaliska kept instinctual and hid, shadowing the Plumerian. Kaliska looked for tribe marks and spotted none. She emerged from the shadows in front of the Plumerian and spoke to her in a firm tone,"Why are you traveling among tribe grounds, outsider?" Kaliska kept a cool head and planted her feet firmly into the ground. The Plumerian spoke,"Who wants to know?" Kaliska thought to herself,'
I hope this won't be difficult. I just wanted a calm stroll.' and spoke with a hint of hostility,"I asked you a question, if your reasons are valid you may pass. If not then it depends upon your answer." the Plumerian, who's name was later found to be Venus, spoke."I'm heading to the mountains North of here. What are you doing here?" Kaliska blinked growing annoyed with the Plumerian, but at the same time relieved that she wasn't any more difficult. Kaliska replied,"I'm from a tribe near here. Where do you come from?" the Plumerian replied and they soon enough had a lovely conversation. The next time Kaliska saw Venus, the Plumerian, was when she traveled back from her trip. They spoke again and soon enough whenever Venus traveled she'd always stop by. The two have become good friends over time.
