Show name: BH Do You Got A Bay?
Call name: Bay-Bee
Gender: Mare
Age: 3 Years
Height: 17.3hh
Breed: Clydesdale
Discipline: Western Pleasure
Breeding fee: 3500c
Price: 2,500
Short Story:
Bay-Bee danced sideways beneath Hanna as they waited for their names to be called. The big mare was looking for any reason to be mischievous, and hopefully the opportunity would present itself during the show. When they finally called her name, Bay-bee pranced into the ring, arching her thick neck. She was young, and this was her first show, and Hanna knew this, that's why she didnt expect what was to happen. It was going great so far. Bay-bee was responding to every command exactly when it was asked of her. Then the wind picked up and the made knew her chance would be soon. Then, the wind carried a little girl's pink cowboy hat off of her head and across the ring, brushing Bay-bee's nose. Squealing, half in excitement and half in surprise, she took off bucking, but Hanna stuck like glue. It didn't look like a Western Pleasure show anymore, but like a true rodeo. The way the clydesdale was bucking, she probably could have been a rodeo bronc. Hanna only stayed on for about fifteen second before Bay-bee launched her over her head and into the dirt. Whinnying with satisfaction, the big bay trotted happily around the ring. Needless to say, they were disqualified.

hello, bonjour
please call me believe

herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.

Show name: MR Only In London
Call name: London
Gender: Mare
Age: 4 years old
Height: 17.2hh
Breed: Clydesdale
Discipline: Three Day Eventing
Breeding fee: 3,000c
Price: 2,500c
Short Story:
The day was glorious, with the lightest tender touch of cloud cover. A young, inspiring rider by the name of Claire had decided to throw her giant Clydesdale mare, known as MR Only In London, into the deep end and enter her into a three day eventing. The testing mare had never competed and was ready to throw anything possible that her rider. Dressage being the first event, London took a moment to trot into the arena, her legs gracefully reaching upwards and stretching out while her neck held her body in beautiful conformation. Her coat shimmering with the sunlight and her quarter marks emphasising her hindquarters in an attempt to hide their weakness. Claire was definitely surprised by the mare but before long the head reached for the ground, tearing the reins from Claire's hands and the Clydesdale leapt her forehand into the sky, with her rear end following closely behind, throwing 3 large extravagant bucks and some less than desirable head tosses. As Claire, reinless, held on attempting to keeping her posture tall and focused, reached for the ever so slowly escaping reins. & It was as if the big bay mare knew her fun and games were over and so she pulled her neck back up, one more small forehand jump before Claire had the reins and reacted immediately, pulling the mare into a flight check. As she stared down into the mares devilish eyes she released the reins and allowed the mare to stand. But she hadn't yet been disqualified, and so Claire took a deep breath, asked London to collect and kicked her on. In the hopes she would at least finish the test. A few more temper tantrums occurred but nothing near the first. Claire was about to stick it out and even though the score was the competitions lowest, she was still proud that the mare had at least tried to finish the test.

Day two was show jumping, which the mare enjoyed the most. But sadly, she was coming up from behind at this point, and knowing London, Claire had no hope. But it was the experience that counted! So Claire entered the arena, under even more pressure seeing as the previous rider was an all clear round. She trotted around, London eyeing off the jumps with excitement in her stride before aiming at the first jump, a small vertical. London broke into a canter, excited and completely revved up. Leaping with speed over the blue and white decorated jump and clearing effortlessly before aiming to the second, which was another small vertical. Claire attempting with all her strength to pull the Clydesdale back, at least the smallest bit. But without luck the Clyde leapt, rather ungracefully over it and surprisingly enough clearing it as well before turning sharply around to face a set of jumps, 3 in a row. A vertical to open, an oxer in between and another vertical to finish. Claire had never trained for these and was sure the Clydesdale would at least knock. Cantering towards the set Claire felt something was wrong. London's stride lengthened as her excitement got the better of her. Leaping over the first jump, and straight to the second. Her speed not slowing. As she attempted to take the oxer her foot clipped the two top rails and as she landed to the ground, London's front feet curled under her chest, her face plummeting into the sand arena and her body flipping over her, Claire in direct way of being crushed. Luckily as the giant mare's back landed, Claire had already attempting to dismount, and her legs were the only thing stuck under the mare. In a panic London rushed her feet and galloped off, bucking and carrying on as the mare was known to do. They were hence disqualified from competing in cross country the next day. And Claire was rushed to the emergency room with possible fracture to one or both legs. The experience was better than any trophy though, and Claire was proud that her mare even made it to day two.

come on Piaffe, share the drafts ;P

Hey there! Welcome to CS! ^^

To enter for this horse specifically, yes, all you need to do is submit that form -- but because this horse is a part of RVEC, we'd love to have you join the sim as well <3 You can find the joining form along with any additional information you may have questions about by viewing the drawing this one was based off of and reading the front page information ^^

Oh gosh do I love Clydes - they're honestly my favourites <3

Samuel Roberts, on the subject of HWF's Lady of Megginch and her recent behaviour during a show.
"It was always gonna be a risk. Even in with all the horses on the Farm, an' they're all different an' weird an' unusual, Rosa stands out as a trouble-maker. She's the kind of horse who'll kick you on the backside just to see you fall over; she plays havoc with the farriers. You can't help but love 'er, though, no matter how many times she splashes you with 'er drinking water. But Levi - he's the man in charge - was pretty unsure about putting 'er in for showing, obviously. Don't get me wrong, she's a hard worker, and a joy to ride or have in harness, but she plays up half the time. You get used to it pretty quick - I find it charming - but obviously, judges aren't that fond of a playful attitude. In all honesty, it was me who persuaded Levi to put 'er into the competition. Worth a short at least, right? Give every horse a chance, I always say. But really, like I said, it was always gonna be a risk.

To be honest with you, it was all going quite well to begin with. Normally when you groom Rose, she steals all your brushes; it's a favourite trick of 'ers. And it's rare chance to be able to mess about with 'er feathering without 'er nibbling at your hair. But this time it was all alright. It was as if she could tell that it was important. Should've put me on guard, probably; I should've been suspicious about 'er motives. Guess I was just excited about the show. But it was all going swimmingly right up to the point where we were standing in the arena, all harnessed-up and with me in me fine clothes. The calm before the storm, I suppose.

The first thing she did was just stop, which is...well, y'know, you can live with that. Annoying, and a fault, but ultimately easy to deal with. She didn't take too much encouragement to get going again either, so we carried on. The next time she stopped I started to worry a little, but it was when she started walking backwards I knew the best thing to do would be to just get out of the ring and cut our losses. Then she started forward again, but seemed to be turning, heading toward the middle of the ring and the judge. Now, I'm a strong lad, I've lifted many a hay bale in my life, but I'll admit I'm no real match for an eighteen hand Clydsie who's determined to get somewhere. They can wrench your arm out, y'know? So I just had to let 'er go and try and steer 'er toward the exit as best I could.

In the end, it was all very neat really, and would've made 'er popular in any entertainment show. Her neat little trot slowed down as she reached the bloke, the judge that is, and she stopped just in front of him. First, she nickered, and it was at that point I had to whisper, "Don't you dare," because I could see it coming. Sure enough, 'er next trick was to give the judge's face a long, sloppy lick, right from chin to forehead, before reaching up to grab his hat off 'im! And with that she was off again, towards the exit of the ring and all the way back to our car, hat still in 'er mouth.

It was a sight to see, that's for sure! Gonna take a lot of persuading to get Levi to let me show 'er again, though, but I'm sure I'll weasel my way into it somehow.

The better question was really what hadn't gone wrong.

Maya pulled up to the competition grounds right as the sun finished rising up over the horizon, parking close by to the wash racks and jumping out to go get Morgana out of the trailer. Their scheduled run time wasn't until almost one, but Maya was of the opinion it never hurt to get prepared early. Especially with Morgana, who, while Maya unloaded everything she needed for washing, was tearing more at the feed net than the hay inside of it.

There were a few more trailers already there, so Morgana wasn't too antsy about not seeing any other horses around, but thankfully the wash rack was deserted. As Maya pulled Morgana away from the hay net and secured her with the lead rope in the wash rack, she just hoped it would stay that way. Maya managed to get all the way through soaping Morgana up before she looked up to notice another trainer approaching with a pretty grey Andalusian. Their eyes met and Maya smiled at her, but inside her heart sank. Morgana seemed to think that new horses had been put on this planet just for her to nip at. As Maya fetched the hose and started washing all the soap off as quick as she could, Morgana's ears pricked towards the new horse and her eyes moved to follow as the Andalusian was tied up as well. On the other side of the wash rack, but this was just a small local show, and it wasn't a massive wash rack.

Maya hadn't managed to get halfway done with one of Morgana's sides when she shifted and pined her ears back at the Andalusian. A quick tug on the halter rope got Morgana's attention back on her, and Maya made sure to relax her shoulders and take a deep breath, getting stressed was just going to transfer over to Morgana and make her more antsy. The rest of the wash went pretty much the same way, with Morgana trying to make a move to nip the other horse every minute or so. Maya was pretty sure she would have been able to set her watch off it. When they were finally done, Morgana hadn't actually nipped anyone, which was good, and Maya seemed calm, but she had missed a spot on Morgana's side that would later appear as a strangely dried patch and throw off the look of Morgana's coat, and her shoulders kept creeping up of their own violation.

Maya got Morgana tied back up to the trailer with a hay bag, and went to find the hairbands so she could braid Morgana's mane. Only to find the pack empty. And then, a moment later, that Morgana had broken the hay net.

    ...

Trotting around the outer area of the ring before the bell went off to signify they had 45 seconds to begin their test, Morgana was fine. Other trainers and riders had been generous enough to provide her with hair ties for Morgana's mane, and her coat, expect for the one spot the soap had not quite gotten washed off, gleamed. Maya's black coat was not quite in the best shape however. She'd draped it over a chair for one minute when a strong wing had started up, and she'd ended up not-quite-running-because-not-with-horses-around after it, and had tried desperately to wipe it off, but had not been wholly successful. She just hoped it wasn't noticed too much.

One of the judges rang the bell as they turned a corner heading back towards the entrance to the ring. Instead of continuing her nice trot around to enter from A, Morgana turned a little too sharply, and even as Maya used her legs to try and correct their course, Morgana stepped right over the short white fence signifying where the edges of the ring were. Maya looked back at the judges, but they just smiled and one motioned for her to just step back over and go around to the right entrance. Maya breathed a sigh of relief. Morgana stepped back over the fence. There was a bark, a startled shout, and then a stumpy Australian Shepard raced into the ring.

They did not keep dogs around at Sun Run, yeah, they had chickens who puttered around and sometimes they would hold a couple cows if someone wanted to try cutting, but dogs were not allowed, for the reason that sometimes they thought it would be fun to chase a horse.

Morgana was therefore not used to dogs.

    I was understandable. Morgana spooked.

And then the next thing Maya knew someone was helping her up and asking how many fingers they were holding up, and from the pain in her wrist she was pretty sure she had broken something, and over in the distance someone had caught Morgana, who had been determinedly harassing the Andalusian from earlier and looked as though she'd taken a kick to the shoulder.

Not only that, but Maya had apparently fallen onto a very inopportune spot. Her white show breeches were undeniably ruined.

It was just not Maya's day.

Yes, it killed me when I saw his attitude ^^' If you'd like, he'd probably be a fantastic starter horse anyways, as attitude doesn't come into play until higher level shows c:

Story:
Well, let's keep it simple and sweet, shall we?
Bea's first time in the showing business wasn't the best kick start to many underdog stories. I mean... Come on; you can't just expect to hit the ground running. This mare's story is different.
Bea had just showed up at the Draft Pull that calm Saturday. There were many other horses around of course, but she didn't seem to pay mind to many of them. Instead, she was quiet, cool, and collected. She was pulling by herself that day, so there was no such thing as a partner in her mind at the moment. She stood with her head low to the ground, soft spoken naturally. The mare flicked her ears and swiveled them around when she heard the numbers "371" called on the loud speaker. She whipped her head up and around, more or less excited for the big day. Bea swished her tail eagerly, nervous in the same perspective. Charlie, the man who was working and training with her at the time, grabbed her by the hitch. "Gee!" He called, his voice stern and focused. The mare walked forward instinctively, heading out into the open ring. The mud slipped beneath her heavy, strong legs, leaving a large mark with every step she took. Charlie led her up to what looked liked a sled, massive blocks stuck on top. Bea backed up a tad to allow Charlie to hitch her to the sled, the big Clydesdale mare pacing in spot, waiting for the call.
"Gee!" Charlie yelled as he stepped away from the massive horse, watching her pull with all her heart. As soon as Bea leaned into the first pull and lurched forward, her legs holding her up, the sled inching forward. She snorted and did the repeatedly, each lurch moving the object forward. Right as she was ready to step to the finishing point, the hitch snapped up. The mare instantly spooked, taking off when it hit her in the back of the ankles. Bea charged through the crowds, tossing her head and squealing loudly. Charlie managed to catch up sometimes later, finding Bea in a bloodied mess from the hitch chain. It was wrapped around both hind legs, having swung up and caught her in the hindquarters a few times when she ran. The man was reported for animal cruelty, not taking care of her wounds properly at such a long age. Bea had a great destiny ahead of her, but was ruined quickly by one careless mistake.
