Can I adopt one?
If you have been registered to CS for 6 months AND have made 200 posts you may adopt one. If you haven't done either then you need to be patient, it will pass quicker then you think

Can I make one? Can I be added so I can colour?
This isn't a editable or free species, each one is made by one of the talented artists to make sure it complies with the vision I have for the species.

Can I be a artist?
When I am looking for artists I will ask specific people or hold a contest. Other then when I ask I am not needing one. Sorry.

Can I edit my form?
You cannot edit the post unless stated as you may just be reserving a post and we cannot see the original post when edited. You also are not allowed to edit the layout of the form. So no centring, colours, images, symbols, resizing, etc. unless stated.

I want to add a theme song and for the equid on my form
Don't! Unless the artist states they want art/poems/etc. don't add it. It means we have to ignore your form as some people will think yours was chosen because it had all this extra stuff even though you filled the requirements given by the artist.

It has passed the final form date and hasn't been judged
The artists have lives, it can take anywhere up to 2 weeks to sort through forms so bear with us.

It's been over a month and it hasn't been adopted out, you said up to 2 weeks
Yes I did but personal things happen, or we forget, so please just wait. We don't like being rushed or pressured when we have enough going on. Many of us have jobs so chickensmoothie is way down the list.

I should have won the equid, my form was best. All I did was say it hadn't been judged yet
This is considered rushing and posts saying: "It hasn't been judged" "when will it be judged" will just result in your form being ignored.

I adopted a equid and now I don't like it. What do I do?
Sorry but if you didn't like it then don't apply for it. You cannot re-adopt equids out or gift them to other players. So your stuck with it.

I don't want my equid anymore, can I give it to another player?
I'm sorry but no. If I allow it once people will expect me to allow it again, and if it keeps happening people will adopt equids for other people, and thats not fair.

Some people have more equids then the limit
Occasionally there are contests where you can win extra breeding or ownership slots, those lucky people won their extra slots.

Can I get a custom? I've seen there are some.

Hey, I'm Maz. I use a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet that I saved up and bought myself after using Medion and Tevion tablets for years (don't diss, they're amazing and so cheap!).
I love experimenting with poses, anything silly or anatomically impossible is always so much fun to doodle.

Fact Sheet:

Wild Mountain Equids (WME's) are similar to domestic horses in many ways. Their digestive system and respatory systems are the same. The only differences in theri skelital structure is the elongated legs and lighter bones. WME bones have more holes in to make them lighter to increase their speed.

WME's have great hearing due to the size of their ears. Their sense of smell is slightly better then a humans but not as good as a domestic horse's. Their sight is similar to a horse with blind spots directly in front and beind.

A WME's fight or flight reflex is always set on flight. It is not a violent species due to the fact it is so fragile. During mating season stallions will "pose" to mares, trotting backwards and forwards to attract their attention. Males can make their mane stand even more errect in the hope of bigging himself up. Mare will only mate with the fluffier looking stallions as their thick fur provides warmth in the cold environment.

As well as thick fur the WME's tail acts as another layer of insulation when it sleeps, as it curled around the body. WME's sleep lying down in order to get head from the ground and to minimise loss. If woken they can be running within seconds.

WME's display the typical herd dynamics, with the exception that all stallions will help protect the mares. They help eachother out as a big family, but stallions will try and be next to their mate for as long as possible. If it is not possible for WME's to run then they will stand and "fight" which is normally just more posing to make themselves look more of a threat then they are, allowing time for mares to get away.

The striped pattern shown on a WME is commonly refered to as "Quipping" although originally it was called brindling, until a suitable name was made to sum up their unque markings. Quipping is found on all WME's unless a mutation has occured to prevent Quipping from showing through. Quipless equids will always have foals with quipping as the genetics for quipping are there. WME base coats are similar to those found on horses along with pinto markings. There have been no cases of roan or appaloosa WME's being found.

Wild Mountain Equid Winter Contest

This year we are doing a nice little equid contest. Just because we can.

Background:

The contest is about a sleigh race for the equids, since they cannot hold a rider but can pull light carts. There is not set course but a nice snowy mountain or forest scene works nicely.

Classes:

There are 3 classes for the race. Two are art based and one is literature based. So it can suit everyone.

2 Equid Sleigh: This requires a pair of equids and a human to present in the sleigh, but it can be a "ghost" or silhouette. The whole of the sleigh does not have to be shown. The equids would be places next to each other.

4 Equid Sleigh: This requires 4 equids put in pairs. Humans need to be shown but can be in shost of silhouette form. The whole of the sleigh does not need to be shown. The equids would be put in pairs with one pair in front and one in back.

Commentator: This is a literate class. You can commentate on your or someone elses equids performance. It can be written in story or script style and can be for either two or four equids.

Rules:

• You can use other people's equids to make teams if you get their permission
• You can enter multiple classes
• Entries must be your own work, no premade linearts
• If you use stock you must include credit on the image
• No complaining or critiquing other peoples art unless they specifically ask for critique
• There will be no date extensions
• You can still enter if you donate prizes

Prizes:

Prizes apply to each class of contest.

1st Place: A custom equid and extra slot for said equid, A piece of custom art from horsy1050 with some form of background, 3 pets from the contest group

2nd Place: A custom equid (you must have a free slot) or a extra breeding slot for two equids, a piece of art by horsy1050 without a background, 2 pets from the contest group

3rd Place: A extra breeding slot for one equid, a head shot by horsy1050, 1 pet from the contest group

End Date: 22nd December 2012
