My entry for the commentation class in the WME sleigh competition. It's commentator script style based off of Elliej1995's two equids Shadow of the Day and Beautiful Chaos: (sorry for the length)
Rob: βAnd next to the start in our doubles sled race is the team of two gorgeous grays: Beautiful Chaos and Shadow of the Day! What a complimenting pair!β
Rick: βDid you know these two powerhouses are actually a father/daughter combo?β
Rob: βNo I did not, what a fantastic idea to make a family pairing! This could work either in or out of their favour because of the family tie. You can see that both equids have a βrough and toughβ mentality, maybe part of that family constitution?β
Rick: βUh oh look at this, Rob. Despite the relation, there seems to be some sort of tension between the two equids! Possibly a conflict of age or authority? Possible bad blood? Well only those two equids really know; letβs just hope this doesnβt affect their placement in the race!β
Rob: βLetβs hope not either because the race is about to start!β
Rick: βThe starterβs waiving the yellow flag and oh arenβt those equids just getting fired up!β
Rob: βThey sure want to win this thing, Rick-β
Rick: βOh it looks like a false start on Beautiful Chaos and Shadow of the Day! Luckily, this will be forgiven by the judges this time, right Rob?β
Rob: βThatβs exactly right, Rick. Though it looks like the tension between the two is building; almost as if the two equids are having a battle of the leader with each other.β
Rick: βOh dear, thatβs not going to help if they want to win. Well, thereβs the green flag, the Wild Mountain Equid teams are off to a roaring start!β
Rob: βThese powerful creatures can really fly, Rick! Look at them go!β
Rick: βYou got that right, Rob. And our leading team consists of our powerhouses, Shadow of the Day and Beautiful Chaos!β
Rob: βLook at those two-β
Rick: βWait a minute! It seems like the team has run into a problem. Beautiful Chaos and Shadow of the Day have stopped altogether and have focused more on being aggressive towards each other!β
Rob: βTheyβre really upset with each other, Rick. It even looks like their handler is having a hard time trying to refocus them. Maybe pairing up such strong equids together wasnβt the best idea.β
Rick: βMaybe not, Rob. But look at this, theyβve settled down a bit but seem to still be facing each other with an aggressive stance.β
Rob: βIβve seen this sort of power struggle among other equids, though itβs usually between two testosterone-riddled males, not a male and female. Perhaps itβs a battle of the stronger-β
Rick: βHoly Zeus! Rick, Look! Theyβve started back up again and theyβre just thundering forward! And in-stride to boot! Like real fine-tuned machine! Perhaps they decided that it was more important to win than duke out whatever was bothering them.β
Rob: βVery possible, Rick, very possible. These two are amazing! Theyβve surged past many of the teams and have moved on to tackle the leaders!β
Rick: βDo you think they have what it takes Rob? The fore-fronting team has one heck of a lead against the rest of the pack.β
Rob: βI believe in them, Rick. Theyβve shown they can put their differences aside to accomplish a common goal and theyβre performing better than ever expected. Letβs hope they can-β
Rick: βTheyβve almost caught up!β
Rob: βRick, can you PLEASE stop cutting me off mid-!?β
Rick: βBeautiful Chaos and Shadow of the Day are almost-β
Rob: βRICK!β
Rick: ββ¦oh sorry Rob.β
Rob: βItβs ok man, I forgive you.β
Rick: βThanks man. Wait, werenβt we supposed to be commentating on the leading teams?β
Rob: βOh goodness! Yes we wereβ¦oh geez! We missed the end of the race!β
Rick: βDonβt worry, Rob. I just got word from our colleagues that it was a photo-finish so weβll find out the results in a few moments. While the officials examine the photo, weβd just like to say thank you to all our entrants and give a valiant recognition to Shadow of the Day and Beautiful Chaos for their magnificent turnaround!β
Rob: βRight you are, Rick. Great effort to both of them.β
