finally got around to working n the story. I wasn't sure how to do it so I Just went with my normal Writing style.

The Winter Race

I woke, startled as my Alarm went off. "Why did I turn that stupid thing on? Its Four AM, I don't get up till Seven!" I said to no one in particular. I Rolled over to hit the snooze I happened to look out my window and in the early light of dawn i spotted my Three Equids in their Smaller pasture. My Phone went off. I Grabbed it and looked at the Text message.
"Hey Erin, You awake yet? Its almost five and almost everyone is here. Is Your cold Bothering you Hun? If it is Text me back and I'll withdraw you."
I Shook my head, remembering the Equid sled race was today. I Hopped out of bed, changed and grabbed my phone.
"Yeah I'm up...now. I Forgot the Race was today but I'll see you there! I'm Sure Naveen would be glad to see you. c:"
I headed outside and got packed up. I wish I had woken up a little sooner so I could get some more practice in. While Skyrionic and Amaya got along fairly well most of the time the two still had their disagreements about the sled. I Loaded Naveen, Skyrionic and Amaya up, with some protest from the Two mares, but it wasn't long before we were off to The Race, I Had already taken my Sled and Tack to my Friends place so They could take it over for me as well as help me set up should I Be late.

I Parked my Truck and got Naveen out and Took her over to The sled, while the little mare wasn't actually going to be in the race, Skyrionic was easier to Handle when his daughter was around and besides that I Figured she shouldn't be left alone at my house. As I led The Two towards the Sled Skyrionic's pace tensed up. "Easy boy. Just One Race then your done." I said softly as i move the two into position before tacking them up. I Felt my Phone buzz, startling Skyrionic. I Flinched, wondering if it was a Good Idea to take an easily startled Equid Into the race. I sighed, it was to late now anyway. Naveen was still a bit to small to fit into Skyrionic or Amaya's Harness. I Turned My Head sharply as I heard the announcer say that the Two-Equid race was about to start. I Quickly Tied Naveen to the Stable Nearby and let my Team over to the line. I Glanced at The Others, looking at the Different Teams. I Turned my head back as I felt a Tug. I Turned in Time to see Skyrionic shift from hoof to hoof and another stallion on another team got into an argument with another Equid.
The Bell went off to start the race, without having to urge them forward Skyrionic leaped forward, pulling on the harness, Amaya followed his lead. The Sudden lurch made me loose my footing and Fall into the sled. I Got up as Quickly as I could, though it was a Challenge not to fall out of the sled while the Pair pulled the sled. I couldn't wait to see how this ended. I Made a Mental note to give my Team an extra treat when we got home, not mater what place they got, I'd still be happy we had the chance to enter.

I sort of feel like people continued trying for slots for so long because there have been past instances in which way more people applied than there were slots offers but the artist was kind enough to accept all of them. Should there maybe be a stricter rule about such a thing?

I can't wait to find out the final slots as well. Do you plan on cutting off after the first five who posted, or...?
