Tawnystar watched as the other Gatherers and a few Patrol Squad members rushed Hazel to the medical den for severe injuries he'd sustained. Tawny slowly entered the den, laying down next to Hazel. She watched the others look nervously at Hazel. He looked bad. Really bad.

"What happened? Was it a fox? Perhaps a twoleg?" She asked with distain. He hated having to ask about if an injury came from a twoleg, just because of how fond she was of his own before the clan.

"Neither..." A gatherer perked up, a sullen, almost ashamed voice. "He was collecting foxglove... Got too close to the end of the branch."

Tawnystar looked from the other gatherer to Hazel, a frown set upon her face. "Hazel. How bad does it hurt?" She asked worriedly. He didn't want Hazel to be in pain.

"Are you kidding?" Hazel coughed out. "This is nothing. I've seen worse..." Hazel's words betrayed the look on his face, though as the medic gently laced spiderweb and leaves over his injuries after cleaning them out.

Tawny watched over time as the wounds Hazel sustained healed. They weren't a pretty sight. It hurt Tawny to watch Hazel have to limp around the camp, though he insisted he was fine and able to continue gathering with the others.

Cat Name: Councillor Sol Starscream
Gender: male
Rank: court cat
Clan: ()
Age: 1 yr
Prompt:
Silver was enjoying the cool night air, as he headed down the steps, intending to go to the royal pond for a fish. He had been itching to fish all evening- but Luna had had him all day, dragging him around, showing him off to her friends, and asking for his advice on silly things. Oh, what flowers should I wear? And what sort of little pretty nonsense can I shove into our nest?

Perhaps he didn't really want to be with the princess, after all. He had reached the pond, and he dipped his paws into the water, splashed a few times, enjoyed the feel of it. He headed further down the bank for his favorite fishing spot- when he heard something running, not far off. Something beating the air- wings?

Instinctively he dove for the nearby bushes. It could be something like- an owl, or an eagle. Those hurt cats sometimes, right? He watched as, instead, two cats appeared in his sight. A lean, golden feline with darkened tips- and a strangely colored tomcat- with wings.

This was something to see.

The golden cat he knew, of course. Councillor Sol Starscream- but what was he doing with a starpelt? For that evidently was what the cat was. And were they- oh. Silver flinched as Starscream latched his teeth into the starpelt's leg. The large cat yelped, and kicked him away, and then they were all in a tumble. It was extremely violent. He could smell the blood from where he was. It was exciting, it was confusing, it was- terrifying. Silver had never seen anything but small spats between rivals. Nothing like this.

They were trying to kill each other.

... Why was the Councillor trying to kill this cat? Or was this an assassination attempt? He thought, well, he should be helping the Councillor. But he couldn't move. He wanted to get away. But- he also wanted to see the end.

The two tomcats fell into the water, and Starscream began trying to shove the winged cat under. Silver couldn't watch and closed his eyes. He heard the final shouts. Then it was suddenly quiet.

He looked.

Starscream was standing alone now. Where had the starpelt gone?

Silver decided he would just leave. He got to his paws and began trying to make his way under the bush cover to leave, but in his jitters he made too much noise and Starscream whipped around, breathing hard, his eyes wild.

Then he followed the sound to Silver. The two toms stared at eachother for some time. Silver looked in mingled disgust, interest and concern at the new, large gashes on the tomcat's side.

"What did you see?"

His voice is a hoarse whisper.

"... Nothing, Councillor."

"Nothing. Nothing at all?"

"... A- I-" What HAD he just seen? Would he get in trouble.

"You saw me fighting a thief off the royal grounds. That is how I am hurt." The Councillor went on.

"Yes- yes, councillor."

And then- Starscream fainted.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Cat Name: Kimbulu
Gender: male
Rank: warrior
Clan: Spirits of the Mayombé
Age: 24 moons
Prompt:

The kubutama is grown up and has been marked. There is nothing left to know.

To the north did you know they don’t believe in Lesas? Not in the way we do at least. They call them “gods.” They think these “gods” have much more power. As we both know that is wrong.

But a Northerner came and spoke of Lesas in our native tongue. He did not butcher the words like those from outside our area do, no, he spoke in earthy tones and strong words. He spoke of what he had seen, only after we promised to put the kubs to sleep so they would not hear.

He spoke of strange animals that walked on two legs instead of four. Unlike a bird they could not fly and their front legs were not wings. Their coats were dark like the antelope but were as smooth as the pads of our paws. They wore items like how we wear items but they covered much more of their forms.

The Northerner said they came during broad daylight, bold enough to not even use night as cover, they captured a few of the cats from his Buala. All cats returned with strange bands around one of their back paws. A deep green like the jungle with cryptic writings on it.

They became smart, the cats. They moved in groups you see, and whenever one of the tall creatures came they all could attack at once and the tall creature would flee. But soon they started making traps. After doing that they moved on. The Northener said every Buala he had visited, some of them call themselves clans but that’s neither here nor there, had the same thing happen to them. He said he was coming with a warning. They seemed to only go after certain cats, not all, but to be wary.

And so we were wary. We moved in groups. Then one day one of the scout groups spotted one of the creatures. Fear hung in the air like the smell of rotting meat.

Poor poor Kimbulu. He was a small kub when he wandered out on his own. Always curious. Of course you can see where this is going. He stumbled across one of the traps and was caught. But he had been raised well you see, and he struggled and fought. He managed to get out but the jagged metal scraped him as he escaped. The strange creatures never returned, maybe they gave up on trying to capture us but Kimbulu wears the warning of what might return.

Cat Name: Yucca
Gender: transmale (he/him)
Rank: n/a (no ranks)
Clan: The Canyon
Age: 1050 sols (about 35 months/moons)
Prompt: Told by Whiplash

"How did he get his scars? You mean you don't know?"
Whiplash chuckles, tail flicking back and forth. They grin, circling around Yucca, who only rolls his eyes and lets out a small sigh.
The kitten stares at them both, wide eyed. Their parent tries to pull them away.
"Nooo, I wanna know!!"

Dust swirls around Whiplash's ankles as they begin their tale. Their eyes flash like a lighting strike.
"In the middle of the desert, there was a secret. It was said to be the lost treasure of outlaws before, left where no one could survive long enough to get it. Except one did - Yucca, the young outlaw of the West. He had pulled daring escapades before, but this was the most daring, the most dangerous. For the treasure wasn't only protected by the expanse of desert, but something more dangerous. A magical storm!"

The kitten is accompanied by their parent now, both intrigued.

"It was the driest day, not a drop of water around. Yucca had finally found the treasure, his biggest success yet! But then, out of nowhere, a great golden cloud grew across the sky. Blue sky was quickly covered by the unnatural hue of yellow. And the sound of horses, thousands pounding across the plains, startled the quiet of the mid-afternoon."

Whiplash pounds the ground with all four paws, attempting to make it quake. "Help me out here," they hiss at Yucca, who only raises an eyebrow. "You're the one telling the story," he hisses back in amusement.
"Fine," Whiplash grumbles, returning to their epic tale.

"Thunder rolled across the desert, following hurriedly after the clouds. A golden haze surrounded Yucca, and his ears were deafened by thunder, but did he run away in fear? Did he abandon the treasure?"

A small group had now gathered, all leaning in, waiting in suspense for Whiplash's answer.

"No! He didn't run, didn't hide, but you know what he did do? He laughed! That's right, this brave outlaw, sitting right before you, laughed and yelled up at the storm, 'Is that all you got?'"

Whiplash's expression turns somber now, and they sit down, paw to their heart.

"But maybe our brave soul shouldn't have challenged the forces that be, the magic protection surrounding the outlaws' treasure. For then, out of the storm, came flash of lighting, aimed directly at Yucca! He was thrown across the desert, almost a whole mile!"

The crowd gasps, shooting wide-eyed glances toward Yucca.

"But," Whiplash finishes, "though he was left with these scars, that's not the only thing he left the desert with that day. Though it's gone now, hidden somewhere else, the outlaws' treasure now belongs to the greatest outlaw himself - Yucca!"

-

As the crowd disperses, Yucca finally lets out a laugh. "Every time you tell that story, I swear it gets more and more wild. What will you think of next?"
Whiplash shrugs. "So what if you weren't actually thrown a mile? The rest is true. For the most part."

Cat Name: Agni Aurum Ne Pascia
Gender: Tom

Clan: Aether
Age: Adult
Prompt:
"It was all my fault."

Fern held her bow, waiting for permission to raise her head. Her joints were locked in place, lest her nerves be given away by her shaking. After a moment without response, she realized she would have to continue.

Head still bowed, she began to speak again. "I was in charge of the carriage that the prince was traveling in but I let my guard down. I'd mistakenly believed we were safe so close to town and I hadn't considered that the town itself would be overrun. By the time I realized the danger, the carriage was already surrounded by the beasts. I fought them all off but I was slowed by the injuries I was taking and one of the beasts tore open the carriage and attacked the prince before I could stop it. I accept full responsibility for this incident and I will take whatever punishment is deemed fit."

Fern stayed in position, although she'd begun to feel dizzy. Whether it was her nerves or her prolonged inclined position, she couldn't tell but the blood rushing in her ears was so loud, she could no longer hear the others around her. The sound brought visions of that horrific day to her mind.

Fern's vision was blurred because of the cut on her face, her right shoulder barley was usable and her left side was covered in char from the fire-wielding monster she'd just cut down. A cry of pain behind her made her swivel in horror as the last monster standing lashed out at the prince she'd been task to guard on their diplomatic mission. The beast took two great swipes before she could reach it, hitting the prince across his back and leg as he cowered in a curled position to protect his vitals. She cut down the beast from behind and pulled the prince out of his fetal position to see a gash across his face, much like hers, from the monster's very first attack. She reasoned that must have been when he cried out.

Neither of them had been in a much of a position to tend to their wounds but they wrapped them as best they could. They would likely have died if a rescuer hadn't arrived in time, but nothing could be done about the scars left behind.

Cat Name: tbd
Gender: Male

Clan: The Wildings
Age: 5 years old
Prompt: "It was a dark and stormy night, and the group was huddled together in our warm den, seeking shelter from the howling winds and pouring rain. As the night wore on, a sudden commotion outside caught our attention. We could hear the panicked cries of our fellow felines, and the sound of claws scraping against the ground.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I cautiously made my way outside. What I saw next would stay with me forever.

In the middle of the clearing stood a male cat, his fur matted and covered in scars. He was surrounded by a pack of fierce dogs, growling and snapping at him. I could tell he was injured, but he refused to back down, his eyes blazing with determination.

I quickly realized that he had stumbled upon the territory of the infamous dog pack that had been terrorizing our portion of the group for weeks. And he had paid the price for his curiosity.

Without hesitation, our leader, HollowStar, leaped into action. He rallied the rest of us and together, we charged at the pack of dogs, hissing and clawing furiously.

The battle was intense, but we were determined to protect our fellow clan member. We fought with everything we had, our claws and teeth tearing into the dogs' fur. Eventually, the dogs were forced to retreat, leaving us victorious.

But that male cat was badly injured, covered in deep gashes and bite marks. We rushed him back to the den, where our healer tended to his wounds. As he lay there, weak and exhausted, he told us his story.

He had been a loner, wandering the forests alone, until he stumbled upon our group. He was fascinated by our strong sense of community and had been curious to learn more about us. But he never expected to find himself in the middle of a dangerous situation.

Despite his injuries, the cat was grateful to have found a new family with our group. He decided to stay with us, and over time, he healed both physically and emotionally. The scars on his fur were a constant reminder of the bravery and sacrifice he had shown that night.

From that day on, he became one of our most respected and beloved members, always ready to defend our clan and protect his new family. And whenever we saw those scars, we were reminded of the bravery and strength that lies within us all." -Told from the view of one forest territory cats in The Wildings group

Cat Name: Sunstripe
Gender: Male
Rank: Warrior
Clan: Stormclan (No cats yet)
Age: 4 years
Prompt:
Sunpaw and I never should have been in that weird twolegplace at all, we thought we were being so brave and sneaky, as we hid in the shadows, and climbed up the weird clanging snake that spits water when it rains. Apprentices can be so... naive sometimes...

When the lights turned on, and we heard the dogs start to bark, we knew we were in for a rough time, we were off the roof before the twolegs even sent their dogs after us, but I was faster, I've always been faster than Sunpaw, when i slipped through the gap in the fence, Sunpaw was right behind me, we were home free!

Until the dogs crashed right into the fence behind us of course. I don't know if you've ever experienced the way the air flies by when something falls right behind you before, but thinking about that feeling still makes my belly ache even now. I was the lucky one though, it was Sunpaw who actually got trapped underneath the fence, I didnt see what happened afterwards, because I was too busy running and trying to lead those dogs away from where Sunpaw was stuck, but he says the top of the thing that fell was like jaws, with horrible metal teeth that dug into his face and side as he tried to squeeze out, he swears to this day that the wire fence bit down harder as he was trying to escape, but I dont know, the next time we explored to look for the strange teeth the whole fence was gone, and the dogs scent was thick in the air.

My mentor was so so mad at me when we got back, I thought they might be proud that I escaped and outpaced 2 dogs with no injuries, but they kept going on about how 'irresponsible' we were, and how the twolegplace was no place for two apprentices who were so young. Sunpaw was fine in the end, but the fence chewed him up real bad, everyone thought it was the dogs but scoffed when we swore up and down the dogs never lay a paw on us.

But I digress, Sunstripe was a changed cat after that day, always wanting to do the responsible thing, and when poor Thistlepelt fell under his mentorship, he barely let her out of his sight for a second. I guess I understand why though, its easy to see the interesting stories as fun things to tell when you get to my age, but I think I would bind your paws in cobweb myself if any of you wee things were planning on sneaking into dangerous places now. Ah, I hear Sunstripe coming back from his patrol, run along now, and remember that this is our secret, he still gets a little embarrassed when you kits pester him about how he got his scars.
