454: HC Calyrex
Ghost/Dark

A funny fella! Here's their concept, to see the pumpkin in better view.
For this kid, tell me about a time they scared someone / a time someone scared them! Minimum of 100 words. Please make sure your form is legible!
Also, you cannot use their floating head as how they scared someone! Think outside of the box :>

Pokemon name: Ichabod (after Ichabod Crane the protagonist in Washington Irving's short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow")
Pokemon typing: [Ghost/Dark]
pokemon pronouns: He/they.
prompt: Ichabod like his namesake was always a fan of spooky tales and ghost stories growing up. He never was a Pokémon who tended to get easily scared. In fact; he was fascinated with everything dark and spooky. Maybe it didn't help that he was a ghost and dark type Pokémon. But he grew up in the wild and spooky tales are hard to come by and naturally; he had to get creative to find his next story. Once he came across a Pokémon, a cheerful skitty of whom was not afraid of his spooky appearance.

Curious, he decided to ask her name. "What is your name?" He inquired with a graceful bow. "I'm Petunia" the skitty replied cheerfully. "And I am called Ichabod" He repiled politely before noticing that Petunia wore a light blue ribbon and a matching white heart patterned light blue collar with a sliver heart shaped tag with her name engraved upon it. "How did you get your accessories, if I may ask?" Ichabod asked curiously. "A human made them for me, my trainer Laura!" Petunia cheerfully explained. "I see do you think humans like this Laura of yours would know any good ghost stories?"

"Oh yeah! You could try visiting the campground. They love telling spooky stories." Her ears flicked hearing the footsteps of someone approaching and she turned to gaze in the direction of the footsteps. "Petunia! Come here girl, time for dinner!" Her trainer Laura called. "Sorry, I have to go. See you around, Ichabod?" She dipped her head apologetically before running over to her trainer. "See you later, Petunia." Ichabod agreed, watching her leave with curiosity regarding to her relationship with the human. "Hey, I heard you have dinner for me, Laura?" Petunia mewed and rubbed on her trainer's legs purring. "I wonder what you've been up to, Petunia.." Laura murmured, seeing a pair of glowing eyes in the forest behind her Pokémon partner but when she blinked they were gone. "Must have been my imagination." Laura thought and shrugged, turned to follow Petunia back to the campground.

Ichabod had turned away when he realized the trainer had seen his glowing eyes in the dimming light of the forest. He wasn’t sure that he wanted to get caught. He knew stories from his fellow Pokémon that told about humans and those Pokéballs that they used to catch wild Pokémon like himself. But he was curious and started to wonder would any human love him like Petunia seemed to be loved by Laura? He shook his head, deciding that for now; he just wanted to hear those ghost stories. So silently he followed Petunia and Laura, sticking to the darker shadows to hide himself from view. "It was a dark night just like tonight!" He heard a male human say in a deep voice, while holding up a flashlight beneath his face, trying to sound spooky.

"Oh Marcus, knock it off! Get on with the story, you're not that scary." Laura muttered while Marcus laughed at his own attempt at being scary. "Yeah, Marcus! A gengar is scarier then you" The other male human joked. "Hey Gabriel, why you don't you try then? I dare ya!" Marcus retorted smugly. "I think I will!" Gabriel replied and lifted up his flashlight, pointing the light onto his chin and grinned. "And the moon was full and bright, casting dark shadows onto the land. A Pokémon trainer just like us was walking in the forest. He had gotten lost and couldn't find his way to the campground. He was a nervous wreck and kept jumping at every sound. It didn't help that he forgot to pack a flashlight in his backpack and he didn't have any electric Pokémon with him who could light the way. So in the dark he stumbled around for hours, starting to lose hope of ever finding his way to the campground. When suddenly! He saw a pair of bright glowing eyes watching him." Gabriel gestured dramatically to emphasize the story. "Hey that's pretty neat! Did you let out one of your Pokémon earlier cause there's a pair of glowing eyes behind you, Gabriel" Marcus asked playfully. "Uh no. I didn't" He replied nervously.

"Then who is that?" Laura asked and pointed at the dark silhouette behind him. Ichabod looked around 'Who are they talking about? Is it me?' Suddenly it got very quiet then a shrill scream broke the silence and the Pokémon trainers huddled together scaredly. The moon had peaked from behind the trees and Ichabod was in full view of Marcus, Gabriel and Laura. It wasn't his floating head that scared them, it was his sudden appearance. "What kind of Pokémon is that?!" Laura asked nervously. "Did you just scream like a girl, Marcus?" Gabriel laughed breathlessly. "Ummm No!" Marcus retorted blushing wildly in embarrassment. "You totally did! Marcus screams like a girl." Gabriel replied in a singsong voice and laughed. Meanwhile Laura stared in awe at Ichabod until Petunia ran up to him wagging her tail. "Hey Ichabod! I guess you scare everyone trying to hear the story right?" Petunia asked. "I guess so. I didn't mean to." Ichabod nodded, tilting his head sadly. "Aw I bet they aren't scared of you now though!"
Ichabod nodded in slightly timid agreement and approached the group with a warm smile, looking awfully excited and trying his best to look friendly. "Can you finish the story now? It was just getting interesting!" Laura exchanged a slightly puzzled look with Marcus and Gabriel before they all burst out laughing. "Wow you must really like spooky stories, Ichabod!" Petunia exclaims with a giggle. "I really do!" He replies before sitting down with the group.

Pokemon Name:
Maurice

Pokemon Typing:
Ghost/Dark

Pokemon Pronouns:
He/Him

Prompt:
It wasn’t exactly often that someone as terrifiying as Maurice could really manage to be caught off guard and scared by another. After all, have you seen him?? He was one of the spookiest pokemon in the region, how exactly did you expect one to be as scared as him??

As much as the rabbit hates to admit it (and he REALLY hates to admit it), there was definitely once a time where he was scared beyond belief. It all started during a harvest festival... Maurice had a penchant for usually going out of his way to scare people out in the fields here every year, having people mistake his pumpkin for one they could take him. Legends of his antics were rather widespread in the town where he frequently committed these scares-- so naturally, it became a part of the harvest festival itself. Except… Maurice was not aware of this change the first year that it happened.

And so that fateful day came once again for the harvest festival, and Maurice began to hop through the pumpkin patch to scout for where he would set up shop. He couldn’t help but notice that many of the pumpkins this year were grey and black, though, rather than the yellow, orange and white he had grown accustomed to over the many years of spooking others. He thought it strange, of course, but brushed the thought aside as he ventured deeper into the pumpkin patch. It was there that he saw it:

Dark purple cloaks hung up on scarecrows, the pumpkins atop their heads glowing a vibrant purple from their jack-o-lantern mouths. Every few feet another scarecrow-- a mockery of Maurice’s attire. No. Not a mockery…a warning? The color drained from the Calyrex’s already pale face, slowly backing up. What was meant as a showing of gratitude and respect for the pokemon had gone wrong by sheer accident.

And as he slowly backed up, the worst bit of all happened.
Dozens of pokemon popped up from behind the trees and pumpkins, all brandishing fake versions of the cloak that his form was so well known for and holding various sizes of black jack-o-lanterns in their hands/wings/etc.

SURPRISE!!!!

Fear filled Maurice’s heart. The hare had never ran so fast in his life.

The villagers would later apologize to Maurice, but to this day it remains one of the favorite tales of older villagers to pass on to their children. While it might have been meant as a loving gesture, the fact remains that the first time? The first time scared Maurice far more than he himself ever would scare another pokemon again.

I absolutely love snakes & dragons, and am always happy to receive them.
I'm also always happy to get new scenery items and King Costumes.

Pokemon name: Jeanne
Pokemon typing: Ghost/Dark
pokemon pronouns: She/Her
prompt:
The night was understandably eerie, the passage of the wind through the trees producing strange sounds. Though that did not bother Jeanne, the forest had been her home for many long years. Autumn had descended recently and already the forest floor had become a carpet of dead leaves which crumbled under her weight with a pleasing crunch. She'd found herself feeling endlessly restless recently and it was so terribly confusing. Jeanne wasn't usually this way, yet she was moving somewhere she hadn't decided on while her thoughts raced along.

A distant voice reached her ears and something deep within her locked onto it, though she could not make out the words. A feeling akin to an icy chain wrapped around her very being and the Calyrex quickly found herself shivering. Jeanne drifted after the voice, unsure of why it was so hypnotic and strange even though she still couldn't make out the words.

"What siren is this who sings so beautifully that I am ensnared just by the sound" she whispered to herself. Ever drawn by the haunting voice, the Calyrex could not help but seek the source almost as if she was merely a puppet on a string. Fear had begun to stir in her stomach, icy tendrils winding through her body, creeping slowly and reaching every bone in her body. When she found the siren what would happen? Would she be devoured or something equally or perhaps even more terrible? That fact remained to be seen and it only set the icy burn of fear to creep faster underneath her skin.

The forest only seemed to grow darker as Jeanne's journey continued, it was the oldest and deepest part. Where the trees grew thick and tall, ancient trunks and branches were woven into a thick cover that dimmed the light. Jeanne was trembling now, she was close to the Siren, and she could feel it. She could practically make out the words by now and the melody had become all the more haunting. She froze right as her paws touched the stone of the ancient ruins, they weren't home to much and yet a fire flickered. The white figure looked up and Jeanne screamed turning to flee upon seeing a pair of eyes glowing in that pale face.

"Oh dear" Queenie mumbled as the Calyrex fled in sheer terror, the fusion left feeling incredibly confused. All she wanted was a safe place to camp for the night and she hadn't been able to help but sing her nerves away.
Unless I post somewhere, I'm not selling/trading closed species critters.
