Sunshore's eyes lifted to the sky, a look of ambition crossing their muzzle. "I may not know how to get down, but I sure as Starclan won't be in last either!" A powerful leap left the warrior a few branches up, wiggling in the wind. Anxiety crept into Sunshore's coat but they continued on the quest to the top. Unfortunately, a bird seemed to disagree with this action and started fluttering itself in Sunshore's face angerly. Sunshore stepped backward, confusion and a little bit of terror causing them to slip. Fortunately the tortishell landed with a thud onto Zahrek, causing minimal damage and a little soreness. Mousespeck carefully placed a small pile of SD at your paws,"88 SD, please rest for the day so you're not feeling too sore on the way back to the clan."
faelyn - finds a cat
Alora let out her breath, and took a powerful jump. A chorus of mumbling cats immediately followed. The shecat opened her eyes, finding herself face to face with a small wisp, perhaps of magical origin. The wisp was bright and soft. She giggled as it floated away, completely enchanted. Perhaps the wisp was trying to lead her somewhere.. She abandoned the tree and campers, following the wisp into the woods.

The Stranger, a ginger and white tom, focused hard. He could feel the branches under his paws bend more and more with each level he reached. A sudden gust of wind caught him off guard, his footing lost for just a moment. But that moment was just long enough for another cat to reach the top first.

Firestrike scoffed, watching some of the apprentices bounce up at the bottom of the tree. His paws masterfully slid up the tree, but something shiny caught his attention. A moment of hesitation later, the warrior followed. Firestrike's eyes grow large with wonder as he approached a sparkling pile of holographic stardust. The wind blows a gentle message across the lake. "May the stars light your path.."

Crowcall took a leap of faith, his claws outstretched .. and smacked right into the trunk. Embarrassed, he struggled to shove his claws into the wood and catch a foothold. A few chuckles echoed from those closest to him and Furzetuft placed her paw on his shoulder gently,"Crowcall, would you like to come play at the lake instead?" Realistically Crowcall knew the shecat was trying to offer a gentle way out of the situation, but he was stubborn. "No, I've just gotta practice ... over there!" And with that, the tom had raced away toward his cabin nest. That was embarrassing.
Hush - n/a
Frogpaw could tell the other apprentices seemed to be laughing at him, causing a wave of warmth to spread across his muzzle. Any possibility of the young cat even giving it a try after everyone had left was thrown out the window.. maybe next time.
Sha the Sheep - finds a cat
Haywing made some good progress, getting about 3/4 of the way up the tree, when he noticed a small white apprentice shivering on one of the branches. Worry and hesitation clouded his gaze before stepping over and giving them the red bandana often worn around the tom's neck,"Would you like help getting down? I can lend a paw, if you're willing to let me." The apprentice's eyes sparkled with admiration and thankfulness, nodding. The two descended the tree together.
birdbones - a Gravity's Pull, team point
Sage gracefully leapt from branch to branch, the silver tabby's instincts leading the way. She eventually paused on a branch in about the middle of the tree, taking a breath. This certainly was fun! Unfortunately.. she had absolutely no idea how to get down. An anxious cry sounded from her muzzle as she scanned the branches below. Perhaps if she carefully jumped she could make it ..? A jump or two later, the warrior was back on the forest floor. Fennel smiled, content with her progress and put down a small bundle,"Your prize, you did very well."
Whovian5EVA - 60 SD
Littlepaw let out grunt of effort as she leapt up and clung to the tree. Some clambering ahead made her hesitate, peered down to the warriors below. Maybe this wasn't going to be easy after all.. The apprentice skillfully wiggled her way up to about the second/third branch before letting out a small squeak of nervousness and calling it quits. Cliff quickly saved her and offered a pawful of SD,"You did very well today Littlepaw."
Hallowitch - an event token, a team point
Goldfleck happily lent his height and strength to assisting others start their climb. About 3/4 of the way through the challenge, Furzetuft somehow managed to convince the tom to give it a try. Hesitantly, with a head full of worry, the tom ascended and quickly figured it out. Climbing wasn't nearly as scary as he'd thought it was! The wind battered his fur the farther up the tree he got, stopping to take a breath near the top. His eyes lit with curiosity and wonder at the world he found himself in-- you could see across the lake, over the treeline, and through layers of clouds/fog from up here. Eventually, he scaled down and accepted his prize happily. He wasn't first place, but he certainly enjoyed the challenge regardless.
,christine - Star's Grace item
Ella took a confident leap, digging her claws into the bark of the tree and quickly ascending. In what felt like moments, she reached the top and let out a yowl of excitement- surely she was the first to reach it! Her eyes scanned below.. to see that everyone was gathering around a much larger tree. Guess, in her haste, she climbed the wrong tree.. oh well!

As Tiger squared her shoulders to take a jump and start her climb, a tailtip brushed her side gently. Mousespeck's eyes glowed a warning, shaking her head. A million thoughts crossed Tiger's mind before she opened her muzzle,"Why not?" The torbie warrior glanced upwards and spoke gently,"Frost, that's what you called her right? I saw her too. This tree is a lot smoother with less forgiving forces, look at that branch." Her eyes scanned the cats already climbing the tree,"You're strong and have spirit, but if you aren't experienced with climbing it could be dangerous at best and lethal at worst. Why don't you lend a paw with the team keeping an eye out for those who may get hurt or trapped up there?" Tiger felt a little frustration bubble into her paws, but agreed and followed the warrior.
Goatmom - Gravity's Rotation item
Swallowflight met the first couple branches easily, navigating the puzzle of complex jumps without any sort of hesitation. His eyes glued on the tailtip of another warrior already climbing the tree, certain they would lead the way to the top. Unfortunately, he found himself on the end of a weak branch pretty soon after, sitting right next to the warrior who had lead them this way. "I thought you knew the way, I was just changing direction to match you!", the warrior cried, blaming him for their loss.
Lili041 - a team point, 70 SD
Hal hauled himself upwards, exciting tingling in his paws. His ears strained to hear those above him as he pushed forward, each pawstep more certain. Eventually, the tom reached a particularly strong branch and stopped for a breath. He carefully scanned the branches ahead and realized.. there was no way they'd support him. He carefully navigated his way back down the tree, assisting those who may have gotten lost or hurt on the way.
kennymcnenny - a team point
Rattle Snake prepared to leap off into his own race, but noticed a small ginger apprentice on the verge of crying. The strange tom padded over and offered to help the apprentice, certain that lending a paw to those in need would, at the very least, lead to some good karma down the road. Eventually, the apprenticed was prepared to start, but Rattle Snake had already been appointed "assistant teacher of climbing trees" by the rest of the cats unfamiliar with climbing trees. After everyone managed to get a turn at climbing, Snow shuffled over and handed the tom a team point. "For your cabin, thank you for your help"

Eveningstar gave it another try, her paws hardly skimming the bark before sinking down to the forest floor again. An irritated mmrow escaped her muzzle before she turned away from the tree. Fine! If the tree was gonna be stubborn, so was she!
sunny-skies - Boon of Fertility, a team point
Honeybee carefully picked her way up the tree, ensuring each pawstep she made was with caution. The warrior gracefully ascending the tree, stopping only to take a breath. Her eyes twinkled with curiosity as a small figurine caught her attention. "What is this..?" She stuck her paw into a small carved hole of the tree and pulled out a Boon of Fertility. A few moments of twirling it around and she climbing once again. She would get to the top, even if another cat had already reached it.
kiffell - Shooting Star, 93 SD
Koalatuft, upon reaching the top, found himself at the top of the world (or so it felt). His heart lurched as a gust of wind nearly blew him right off and he clung tight to the tree. In that moment, a large golden warrior also pulled themself to the top of the tree,"Wow!" Their eyes scanned the setting before settling on Koalatuft,"You sure are small, little warrior. May I help you climb down?" Koalatuft, at first, crossly denied and tried to climb down.. but did end up accepting the warrior's help. What? It's a huge tree, don't judge!
wildsight - Star's Grace item, team point, event token
Maplewish continued on the way up, slowly rising as her nerves began to bubble. She wasn't even a fourth of the way up when a younger warrior happened to slip, nearly falling backwards into a lower branch's leaves. Maplewish craned her neck, grabbing the warrior's scruff and heaved them over,"Thank Starclan! Let's get down and make sure you're alright!!" The two descended carefully, making sure neither of them fell again.
Deercan - 28 SD
Sundew shivered with effort the farther she climbed. With each pawstep, it became more and more clear she couldn't do this. One or two strong gusts of wind later and she was scrambling down the tree. Nope, not today Starclan! Once she got close enough to the forest floor, she jumped onto the floor below.. well.. right onto Hana actually. The housepet, once regaining her breath, laughed and laughed about it -- Guess the old expression about raining cats and dogs was more literal than she thought! Sundew wasn't exactly certain why Hana found this funny, but it was better than anyone being angry.
jay. - team point, event token, Hourglass item
Gecko wiggled up the tree almost immediately after Fennel announced the contest. He expertly jumped from branch to branch and clung to the tree like a leave not ready to give up. He had no idea where the rest of the cats where, but it didn't matter-- he was gonna win! Fortunately, it wasn't long till he saw a tailtip slide into the last layer of leaves. His eyes met another warrior, who seemed to be right behind that cat, before leaping up and pushing into the last layer of branches. Second was good enough for Gecko, but next time he would certainly get first.
Danicalifornia - 6 SD, Stellar Remnants
Wanderer nestled near the bottom of the tree, watching each warrior and apprentice giving it a good go. She smiled and whisked away, momentarily trying to find a better spot to spectate.

As the group of cats around Smolder pushed forward to join, he realized that it seemed a good number of cats wanted to stay on the forest floor. He scuttled around checking in with each warrior upon return, deciding to be a helping paw instead of a showoff. There would always be more chances to woah a crowd, for now he was content with this.
Divantae - Star's Touch
Lionbloom started off well, getting a few branches up before noticing something balancing on the edge of the branch he'd found himself on. His little companion scooted over, grabbing it, and waddled back to the cat,"Ooo!" He twirled the weird object in his paws and decided to clamber down. He had his prize, even if it wasn't a team point or event token.

Mousespeck gingerly climbed the tree and plop herself on the branch above, calling out,"If you're still in the tree, stay where you are! Myself and Birchmist will be climbing up and helping everyone down!" Unfortunately, Spiderbite was one of the last to be taken down, Mousespeck pulling her down with no sense of gentle-ness in her touch. For a medicine cat, she was surprisingly strong.
angel bugs - n/a
Birchmist sat nearby, playfully nudging his beetle friend to befriend the spider that accompanied the camper. "C'mon, say hi.." The two introduced one another's bugs to each other and chatted about their favorite types of bugs while everyone else seemed focused on the tree climbing contest. Birchmist cast a warm smile to the warrior, once called to help rescue those stuck, and bounded away.
galaxyy. - x2 event tokens, 64 SD
Surprisingly, Meadowshine found climbing to be fun and easy. She calculated the amount of power it would wake to jump from branch to branch expertly, leaving a few stickers clung to the branches as she scaled the tree. Somewhere below she could hear a cat right on her tail, which caused her to push harder. The warrior let out a growl of effort as she jumped to the very top, head spinning. She'd done it, she'd won! Meadowshine could hardly believe it. It was beautiful up here, she welcomed a few more warriors as they finally joined her and eventually found her way down the tree. What a thrill! Everyone cheered as she returned to the forest floor and Hana gleefully put a small package of event tokens at the warrior's paws. "Congrats! You got there first!"
ArtMajor - 14 SD
A chuckle came from behind Sparrowheart,"Need help?" Sparrowheart felt his scruff being pulled backwards and he fell, unceremoniously, down. Cliff pushed a small pile of Stardust his direction,"While that certainly was brave, I think perhaps your talents could be better used keeping an eye open if anything happens to those who get farther up the tree.. perhaps to the first branch?" The mail carrier chuckled again, a lighthearted smile plastered across his muzzle.
lovage - team point, event token, Starclan's Greeting
Nightfall watched as a few of the braver cats went ahead, following the scent of a particularly strong looking bicolor as far as he could. His whiskers twitched with thought as he climbed further up and eventually to the tippy top of the tree. He certainly wasn't first, but still felt a sense of accomplishment as the wind jostled his fur and lake glittered in the distance. A sparkling leaf, stuck to the very end of the branch, caught his attention and he scooped it up carefully. "A Starclan's Greeting.. I think I know just the warrior who will want this back at camp." Eventually he was ushered back down the tree as the sun began to set.

Appletree started off well, but quickly realized the farther she got up the tree the more adjugated and worried Parkpaw became. The dog let out a few whimpers and scratched at the base of the tree, watching. Appletree, upon taking a moment to think, scaled back down the tree and wrapped her tail around Parkpaw's. "It's okay Parkpaw, I'm here", she calmed Parkpaw gently. "Let's go eat something delicious with the rest of the campers who didn't wanna join in, I'm sure there's some Stew you can nab from Hana!"
