WillowClan territory truly was beautiful this time of year. It was easy for Ella to get lost in the scents surrounding her, easy to find herself distracted by the wildlife and the trees that seemed to stretch up to Silverpelt. But regardless, it was part of her duty to focus on the task at hand. Time to find some sticks!

"We know that Birchmist was preoccupied by the animals that were stealing fish." Ella recounted, gathering the interested cats so they could discuss possible options. "I think the first step that we need to take is to go where we last saw him--that would be the river, right? The place where we went fishing? And I remember he said that the reason there were so few fish is because of the creatures that were upstream from us, not downstream. So it could be safe to guess that Birchmist, wherever he is, has followed the animals that he was concerned about. Which would've happened upstream." She dipped her head. "We don't know what these animals are that we were so concerned about, but if they're strong or hungry enough to actually make it difficult for us to catch anything, I wouldn't put it beyond them to see us as a mighty fine meal. Stay on guard, stay in groups, and don't let anyone stray away. Focus on scent rather than sight."

Birchmist was still missing, and both Sunshore and Zahrek were getting worried. Although Sunshore knew that there was not a timeslip coming, there was an urgency in the air to find the missing tom. After taking a quick break, cat and pterosaur headed out again, trying to find any trace of Birchmist or his pet beetle.

Willowheart scanned the trees for anything useful, her paws twitching with unspent energy. She was a newcomer to the camp, so there was so much she had missed out on! Now she had to make up for lost time, and she was eager to show everyone what a great cat she was. She stopped herself from bouncing, steadying herself and taking a deep breath; no way she was gonna scare off any prey! Her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed a small spot of light brown fur in the corner of her eye, and she quickly lowered herself to the ground, inching closer to get a better look. "A squirrel!" She practically squealed in excitement. Oops...! Maybe she shouldn't have been too loud... the squirrel noticed her and quickly darted away, out of sight. Willowheart, determined to not let this minor inconvenience get in the way of a great time, simply straightened herself, once again scanning the trees for useful items.

Willowheart had heard that Birchmist was still missing, and hoped the tom would be found soon. Generally she was pretty optimistic about this kind of thing, but she couldn't help but feel a little worried. He's fine, she thought to herself. We'll find him in no time! She glanced over to where a couple of other cats were looking for him, and went to search in the opposite direction. We've got this. Just wait a little longer, Birchmist!

Scorpius scratches the top of his head with a paw, nervous, but alert and he presses onwards. He walked with the group, his head held low to the ground, eyes darting left and right. Whether it was too search for Birchmist, or in fear of the unknown. He hadn't quite his cabin often, mostly listening to the stories his cabinmates told, and to be out here now - it struck him with horror. He was a kittypet once - one that was loved. He lived in the streets, with the Vagrant Society. But never once had he gone further than the concrete forest he called his home and world.

At the sound of a rustle, he instantly whipped his head around, hackles raised in alarm. When there was no other movement - not even a sound - Scorpius forced himself to relax, but maintained his gaze on the bush in the sound's general direction. He didn't dare tear his gaze away. Pursing his lips, he thought for a moment, then he tried.

"...Birchmist?" he called weakly, but hesitated to move.

He swallowed drily, eyes wide and unblinking, afraid that the second he did, something undesirable might occur. And so he waited - he waited for the shrubbery to make its first move.
