Waking up and heading out to the lake, taking a brief swim before settling down in a more shallow area of water and waiting for the fish to come into his claws. Sparrowheart's tail flicked softly from where he had it held high, watching the clear waters of the lake and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

This round of fishing seemed to be going a little less… eventful than last time. Which is to say, she wasn’t sopping wet yet, and she hadn’t fallen claws first onto any fish.

But that wasn't to say it wouldn't happen again! She just had to stand… very still… until more ripples appeared.

Heartpurr is getting the hang of fishing. To better fit her tail in the water, she sits down with her back legs also in the water. The fish swim up to her, her tail waving like a piece of kelp in the water. She feels it bite, then flicks her tail out of the water and onto land. It flies onto the shore and Heartpurr lets out a yelp of pride!

Fennel let out a tired yawn, hardly having slept a wink last night. They just couldn't believe the worry nagging at their head, [i]what if something happens to the campers? Are there really no twolegs there? What about foxes? The cinnamon tabby's ears pricked at the sound of splashing ahead, someone was already at the beach? Fennel picked up their head, taking a deep breath, and jogging right down the hill. A flash of water in the air and a fish was already at Fennel's paws. "Littlepaw, right?" Fennel took a seat, admiring the morning sun reflecting onto the lake,"It's beautiful out here before everything wakes up." The cat's gaze shifts back to Littlepaw,"You don't know how to swim yet?" Littlepaw shook her head. Fennel let out a chuckle and stood,"C'mon then, let's go for a lesson or two Littlepaw. I have plenty of time."

Cliff waddled around in the shallow parts of the lake, the fur on his stomach soggy and heavy. His ears flickered backwards in irritation as another fish darted away. His claws flexed in the sand, looking up at the campers nearest him. Perhaps one of them was secretly a professional fishing expert.. he needed notes and he needed them fast. Cliff's eyes eventually rested on Meadowshine, certainly she would know how to fish- she seemed so focused! He carefully tiptoed around her, watching as the warrior swiped at the water and missed. Hope fizzled away into nothing, but regardless he called out,"Hey, wanna try fishing together? Four paws are better than two!"

The sun beat down from above, Furzetuft excitedly jumping into the water to join any campers actively fishing. She hadn't seen such a big lake in a long time! A ball of excitement wiggled it's way into Furzetuft's heart as she raced as far as possible away from shore.. coincidentally right next to Kiprey "Are we diving for treasure over here?",she joked,"Lemme join, maybe we can find a lost shooting star. I'd love to dig one out and surprise the whole camp." Her bright smile seemed almost as ridiculous as the idea, but her tone indicated that she was excited to have some friendly competition. "One.. two.. three!" And with that, she was under the water.

Furzetuft lead the charge, throwing fish after fish out of the water onto shore while Cliff sat on the beach counting each one. "Furzetuft!",he called,"That's twenty, leave some for the campers." The stunning tortie cat let out a triumphant laugh before hurling another his way,"Like I would willingly lose when it comes to fishing, as if!"

Meanwhile, Fennel and Birchmist stood nearer to the campers. Fennel seemed a bit unfocused, almost as if something was on their mind. Birchmist placed his tail on the cinnamon warrior's shoulder, silently offering a smile of comfort. The tom could understand being so worried- nearly every camper planned on joining the exploration team, if anything happened none of the counselors would forgive themselves. "Alright everyone- we've got some team points to hand out, right guys?",he called, taking the time to let Fennel process their emotions for the time being.

Birchmist let out an exaggerated huff,"It appears Brie has lost their lead.. C'mon guys, we can't let Ricotta beat us!" He laughed, nudging Fennel playfully. Fennel let out a warm growl, playfully bearing their teeth at the tom, any worries disappearing for the moment. "Oh noooo the rabid Ricotta cabin counselor is going to atttaaaaccckk-" He flopped over dramatically, causing a chorus of laughter from the campers and fellow counselors.

After catching a few fish, Sunshore was draped along a branch that hung over the water, dripping dry in the gentle summer breeze. Zahrek was still standing in the shallows, peering into the water as they watched a few perch chasing after minnows.

[Say, Sunshore,] they began, looking up at their friend. [Didn't Birchmist say something about a legend in this lake?]

"Hrm? Oh, Birchmist," Sunshore said with a yawn, stretching out along the branch. "Yeah, he probably did; he's got a thousand stories! I hope he's up for storytelling tonight, I never feel like mine ever hold a candle."

[Sunshore. You mean traveling through time and space isn't entertaining enough?]

"Well, when you say it like tha--aah!"
As Sunshore spoke, they had rolled over, falling clear off the branch and into the water with a splash. Zahrek leaned their long neck over, making sure Sunshore came up for air, but couldn't resist laughing a little.
