Saph had always been picked on for being pale growing up, considering she lived in Florida her whole life. She was never able to tan, and she hated it. She would be called "Paper Gal" and "White Rat" just because of her pale skin
When she got older, she learned to accept it, and would ignore rude remarks, until she found Sephora, Tanning Lotion.
She was shocked at first, asking questions like "How does it work? What does it do?", But when she tried it, she finally felt free! The rude remarks stopped, the names stopped, she was happy! She grew up looking how she wanted, and never experienced a rude remark again!

Mary was a very sweet kalon, with a love for different scented hand sanitizers. Gosh, she loved all the different flavors and variety that reflected her mood and gave off a “scent of the mood” to surrounding people. Mary loves “Peach Bellini”, and “Warm Vanilla” the best, and especially the simple “S’mores” She mainly shops from Bath and Kalon works, and she finds every scent to reflect what she was feeling. Warm vanilla, she claims, reflects off her warm mood and loving mood. “That hand sanitizer scent is too strong,” they claim, “Well, I’m feeling confident!” she would say with a soft, yet confident tone. She considers self care very important, but she also heavily appreciates hand sanitizers, and the serenity, mood, and adventure that came with every new scent and smell.

Glass jars filled with perfectly dried teas, flowers and herbs sparked an interest in Bonnie; it was time to wash all the stress away.

A scared ritual, making tea. Everything needed to be perfectly timed, or you'd end up with something subpar. First, she chose the teapot. This in itself is just as important, you eat with your eyes first so the teapot needed to invoke the right mood. She needed to create a calming environment, so she chose the baby blue teapot with a delicate white floral print and gold trimmings. Now, she needed to boil the water, simple task. She filled the kettle and turned it on. The tea itself; she kept jars of pure herbs, meaning nothing was mixed so she could adjust the levels if she needed to. Bonnie got out her special teaspoon, sterling silver and shaped like a bee on the handle with floral embossing. Then she added the following to the teapot;
4 tablespoons of loose black tea leaves
2 tablespoons of dried lavender
2 teaspoons of dried passionflower

She heard the click of the kettle and poured the boiled water over the top of the dried tea. Bonnie grabbed the lid and took the teapot and matching cup over to the coffee table. Already there was an assortment of crystals and candles, which she lit to soften the mood. Bonnie let the tea sit for 5 minutes before pouring herself a cup. Remembering she forgot a key ingredient, Bonnie raced back into the kitchen and grabbed the jar of honey. Adding roughly 1 teaspoon into her cup, she stirred it and took a sip. Bonnie could feel the woes of the day draining away from her, and she curled into the couch with Sunni settling beside her, purring away.

Shop brought self care products are all well and good, of course. She loves a good snoop around Sephora, and a look into the Lush stores. There's something fun about the bright packaging, the tester pots, the free samples. Sometimes the price is a little high, enough to make you tug nervously at your shirt collar, but you get what you pay for, right? Good brands mean good quality, right?

As Martie learnt, not necessarily.

She still loves the grandeur of product shops, the tantalizing smells when you first walk in. But she also loves going home, tying back her hair, and reaching for the plain glass jar she keeps on the bathroom counter. Sometimes brands didn't mean quality; sometimes quality came from home.

The cafe's were understandably confused when she first came in, asking for their leftover coffee grounds that would otherwise be binned. She'd collect them in the evening, heading out with empty containers and returning home with them filled. The next day she'd get to work turning them into a scrub; with coconut oil being the only other main ingredient, who knew it could be so simple? The product worked, it saved her money; and it was starting to make her money, too.

She hadn't expected her product to become popular. She hadn't grown up with dreams of being a business woman, but it seemed she was fast becoming one. With products being sold at the local market and online, her brand name and fanbase are still steadily growing. Now she's branching out, trying out more eco friendly recipes expand her unexpected business venture.

And all of this started from her favorite little coffee face scrub.

Ever since Fulika was little she was fascinated by all the kalons doing their self-care and one day when she was a teen she told herself that's it I'm going to do my own self-care routine! so she did and the first thing she started off was by taking 8 hours of sleep with her teddy bear because you know this girl needs to get her beauty sleep. In the morning she would get up bright and early and walk to the kitchen for some healthy smoothies and after she was finished drinking it she would go and do her daily face masks which are her favorite type of self-care!.
