kai has always been fascinated with out of the ordinary things- which lead him to working at a reptile sanctuary with his uncle at a young age. kai quickly became very good at his job and often offered to take snakes home for holidays so the owners would not worry about coming back to a bunch of half starved reptiles. his snake, sirene, was no different- just a pregnant snake he took home for a holiday. though she didn't seem very special, it took kai no time to attach himself to her and it seemed all too easy for the two to trust each other. when it was time to return from holiday, he asked if he could keep her and the owners decided that he was the best candidate to keep her warm, happy, and safe- so they allowed it.
since then, kai has spent countless hours fostering snakes and expanding his knowledge on reptiles in general. though, sirene is just a quiet little ball of scales- kai credits her for his expansion of knowledge and reptile-based opportunities. she's his pride and joy. [184 words]

palontras took in this special case.
the two bonded a lot over the months they were together.
even when he was meant to return them.
he requested to hold them back, because they believed it may be detrimental to them to leave.
their small friend's name was valo

the two care deeply for eachother.
palontras takes valo with them everywhere.
never once apart.
valo lives a good life with palontras, happy to feast upon any food left out for more than three minutes.

cassandane’s main companion is a three-headed dog
named roman. now, usually when people hear about him,
they think of cerberus, the large, scary guardian dog of greek mythology.
well, roman is much different. and that’s in the fact that he’s
even scarier than cerberus. why? because he’s a chihuahua.
cass was given roman when she was sent up by hades to watch
over the returning spirit, cyrus. cass had been excited when the god
said he was giving her a guard dog to protect her during her time
on earth, but she was more than disappointed to see roman as her guardian.
but, over time, the two developed some type of relationship, and now she would
do anything for the little three-headed dog, although she would never admit it aloud,
to roman or anybody else..

Companion (1 art piece or 200 words max: Meis companion is a small finch bird. It was found out of a fallen nest, abandoned for it being to weak and small. But mei saw something in it, a kindness. It’s very light pink- brown and green, with soft pastel greens but still being able to look natural and blended just like mei. The eyes on the finch were crystal green, light and soft enough to take you to comfort. He was very light and soft to the touch,
giving you a sense of warmth and love. Its feathers were designed with soft swirl designs, making its markings easy to see and blend in. It’s beak was a light pink, with a small yellow heart that made the finch very different from most. With his small feet, were also light pink with yellow swirls. The small finch bird is shy, but out going with his kalon companion. It’s chirps we’re very squeaky, but mei could understand him by the feelings he gave off. It’s small and soft, tiny, it was the smallest of all eggs but mei decided to take it in, as a loyal companion who adventures the forest, helping other small innocent creatures, who were once forgotten. It was small but fast, able to keep up with the kalon. Mei named him puff. Puff would always stand on meis shoulder as they explored, searching for new adventures deep within the light forest. Puff and mei were and are best friends companions can be.

as a companion, i have
given matcha a little
pygmy goat called
oolong. like
matcha, oolong the
goat has long tufts of
fur or hair covering
her eyes. perhaps it's
over their shared
hairstyle that these
two bonded? regardless
of how, matcha the kalon
and oolong the goat are
now the best of friends
and never go anywhere
without one another.

if i won this little
lady, her name would
be matcha! matcha
is a type of japanese-
style tea, made by
pushing the fine
matcha powder
through a tiny sieve
before brewing it with
hot water. the pastel
greens and milk-like
white markings on this
kalon reminded me
of tea and, while
matcha has no milk
in it, i thought that
it fit her best.

matcha and oolong are inseparable. they've been attached at the hip since before anyone in their lives can remember, and to everyone who knows them, the kalon and the pygmy goat come as a single package. they travel often, often to find certain herbs, mushrooms or other ingredients which can't grow in their home forest. these trips naturally come with risks, with matcha having to protect oolong from predators and find food for the both of them. it's not a one-way relationship, however - oolong pulls a very tiny cart behind her on these trips which is used both as food storage for the journey and as a way to transport the needed supplies back home.
oolong's hair wasn't always this long. she was near enough bald when matcha first found her, curled up alone and freezing on the bank of a river. matcha took her in, fed her and gradually built up her strength and trust until she became less of a pet and more of a companion. she didn't grow much (unlike her hair) - oolong is a pygmy goat, meaning she only grew to around 16 inches tall, completely dwarfed by matcha's 55-inch frame. she's so small that she often hops up onto matcha's shoulders in order to get a better view of the world around her. this isn't always ideal, but when not travelling, oolong will spend most of her time standing on top of matcha while she goes about her day, making small trips to the river for water, preparing food for herself and other creatures, various other chores which oolong will occasionally try to "help" with (this often ends in something getting chewed up). they get along fine in the end, though, and live a relaxed life with mostly just each other for company.
