what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: In 2019 I finished my undergraduate degree and started my teacher training course. I'm finally doing what I want to be doing career wise and I'm so proud of myself for taking the steps to get here. I've also begun to save money so I really feel like this is the year I've finally started to become an adult. Learning to be a teacher is hard work and quite intense and I'm really proud of myself for maintaining my energy levels and getting into a routine. It's not perfect and I need to do more exercise and be more productive in the evenings but I've come a ridiculously long way in the last year and I'll only improve more in the year to come. (124)

what is something you want to do in 2020?: This year I plan on going on holiday with my boyfriend for the first time. It will be my first holiday abroad that's not a school trip and also our first getaway as a couple. I'm also hoping that I get a chance to meet his grandparents and other members of his extended family who do not live in the same country as us. I'm hoping that I can get to know them and start to feel part of the family that I will hopefully belong to one day. It is very scary to me as I don't speak the language and I am afraid of their opinions but it means so much to my boyfriend that I hope it all goes smoothly. (123)

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: One of my friends has had a really tough time this year with their mental health and have had some major depressive lows. I'm just hoping that in 2020 they find what works for them and establish a lifestyle where they can reduce their stressors to allow them to cope better. I hope they get all the consideration that they need from authority figures so that they can continue to follow their dreams and not be limited by this rough year. I also hope that they continue to rebuild relationships with important people in their life such as their parents whom they are estranged from at the moment. I just want them to have a good and wholesome 2020 because their 2019 sucked and I'm just proud of them for getting through it. (133)

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: I've been playing the piano more and more and learning how to use both hands. I'm self taught so it's really nice to see my own progress with my own work. I'm getting lessons soon, so I can become even better. It is now over three years I've been playing the piano.

what is something you want to do in 2020?: I want to work on myself. All my life I've been really negative towards myself and I never seem to do anything about it. I always accept negative things and I want to work on that and become more confident of a person. I don't want to look down on myself my whole life. I might as well start now, since I'm in an age group where people have trouble loving themselves.

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: My friend has done some great things lat year. He's always so outgoing and courageous, but hard times do fall upon him. He isn't growing up in the perfect household like most of us have. He's had his bumps in the road way too many times. One time in later January or early February, he went somewhere where I thought he would never come out from. He's a good kid and doesn't deserve it. Neither his younger siblings. They all came back, better than before. They seemed more appreciative of things and it makes me happy. I always want to be by his side and help him.

what is something you want to do in 2020?:
I'd like to learn how to drive and finally get my driver's license. Being able to drive myself around would let me work more shifts at my current job and I'd be able to get a second job during the summer to get more experience. It'd be ideal if I could find an internship as well but I have no idea where to find one for the major I have ^^;
I'd also like to try and improve myself since I'm not too fond of what I'm like now.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
During the past year, I have managed to get all As and crap in school. I'm super proud of myself for this! It may not sound like much, but I am mentally ill so school can be hard for me. I developed all of the illnesses I have while I was pretty young, so this is the first time I have gotten grades this good for a long time. I'm planning on going to college at some point, preferably not long after graduation. Good grades will help me with that, especially since I'll most likely need a scholarship if I want to go to art school. (106 words)

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: I'm proud of myself for finding who I am and leaving the negative and bad people in my life behind. I've had a friend for a few years and we would constantly fight, and then makeup and be friends again. Last year, we ended our friendship and while I do not forgive her for how she treated me, I am glad I'm out of that toxic friendship. I'm also amazingly grateful and proud of myself for finding a new best friend, C, and I'm super lucky to have him as a friend. Recently, he's been the best thing to happen to me.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: Within 2019, I did something that I was terrified would never happen – I finally completed college and got an unconditional offer to my first choice university. I am proud of myself for taking the chance to move to the other side of the country and to keep taking chances while I am there. I am proud of myself for not shutting down while I am there, and for taking a chance on folk and making friends instead of isolating myself. I love the folk that I can now call dear friends and would not have met them had I not taken the risk during week 0 and gone to help my friend (who I had not even known more than an hour at that point) with her technology.

what is something you want to do in 2020?: In 2020, I want to create my own blog. I have been a passionate writer for years and only within the past year have I begun to write on a regular basis in comparison to more than just everyone so often. This extended to even beginning a degree in creative writing. Now, I want to take all this writing I am doing and start publishing it on a blog. I want to take my writing and create short stories, maybe 1 or 2 k per story and publish them a couple of times a week. Once my current assignment is handed in in a couple of days, I am going to get started with this.

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: I’m proud of my friend for not following the social norm and not doing what everyone expected of him. Instead, he chose to do what he is passionate about, going straight into work instead of going into higher education and moving away for university. He completed the education he needed to go into his career of choice and found himself a job working at a restaurant as a chef full-time. The dude is totally doing what is making him happy and I am super proud of him and happy for him. I know he is going to do great this year.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:

I was able to accomplish quite a bit this past year, which is a really nice feeling. Maybe a little unconventional, but one of the things I'm most excited about is that I've been able to make a lot of new friends. There are plenty of people I've lost contact with since college, and as time goes on and I get busier and busier it gets harder and harder for me to keep up with the people I used to know. We've moved to different places and our jobs keep us in such a hurry that I kinda gave up on spending time with a lot of them or trying to make things work. But lately, I've started to build up bigger friend groups and actually start meeting new people, and getting to know people I've sort of known through friends - but who I can now call my own friends. Most of the time it's still a challenge to get people together, but I've made so many new friends in real life this year (as well as online lol) that I really don't feel so down about the people I haven't been able to see. I hope I can keep it up in the year to come!

what is something you want to do in 2020?:

This coming year I'd really like to travel. Not that I haven't other years, but I'm at an age where I have more flexibility and as I'm getting more financially stable, I'd really love to be able to go on a big trip to someplace outside of the US that I maybe wouldn't normally take the steps to visit. I don't know if I'll be able to save up to make it happen, but I'd really love to spend some time this summer just enjoying life with my fiance and taking a break from the norm to see what else is out there in the world. There are so many places I want to go see, I hope I'm able to take at least one big trip this year!

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:

I have a lot of friends I'm really proud of, but I think I'm most proud of my very best friend, my fiance, for all he's done to help his mental health this year. I want him to continue to grow and strengthen his skills in 2020, but the progress he's made this past year has been really the best I've seen from him in so long. He's got so much to deal with but I've seen him open up in so many ways and I know how hard that is for him to do. I'm really looking forward to embracing life with him and hopefully he can stay on this track to a better, healthier, happier life.
