Username: ☁Lady Raincloud☁
Cat Name: Walrus "Wallflower"
Clan: Lighthouse (to be moved to my second clan, Fernglade, once I have it's founder)
Rank: Loner

Gender: Tom
Age: 15 moons

Prompt:
Walrus awoke with a start as someone tripped over him. It happened so fast and he was thrown into a jumble of feet, claw, hair and overall catness in such suddenness he began to scream as he was tumbled, with the stranger, a bit downhill. He landed against the nearby fence and stood up, staring at his 'attacker' in dumbfounded confusion.

It was a scruffy ginger female, and her fur was a mess of dirt and twigs. She shook herself vigorously, sending bits of dirt and dust around them, all while saying hurriedly. "Whoops! Sorry there friend, just came to investigate some... things you have in this yard."

"... Things." Walrus muttered, adjusting the collar on his neck slightly in a nervous manner. He'd never quite gotten used to it.

The she-cat nodded almost as violently as she had shook herself. "Yup! You have some plants your upwalker keeps here. We've been curious about them for sometime."

"We?" Walrus asked in confusion. The she-cat was turning and walking away now; Walrus stared after her in annoyance and hurried after her.

"This is my yard! And who is this we?"

"My kin of the ferns." The she-cat said, her voice with a hint of mystery to it. She then added as a side note. "Uh- we're looking for a fabled plant to cure a sickness."

Walrus stepped back from here.

"Don't be alarmed!' The she-cat said with a nervous chuckle, noticing a chill go down the housecat. "It's... gone now. We just want to prevent a new outbreak, so we're trying different herbs. Seeing what they do."

"Isn't that dangerous?"

Walrus had to rush after her again as she began to march off, turning a corner to go further into the garden. "What if you tr something poisonous? Why not just... find a human? They can heal things. Mine brings me to one, she's very nice."

"We're self sufficient." The she-cat responded in a cocky tone. She was now dipping her head into a clump of radishes and sniffing at their leaves. She lifted her head however and stared onward in wonder. Walrus wasn't sure why, but as soon as she had she was just as quickly running towards the patch of watermelons.

"Get back here!" He called in desperation. He followed her quickly as he could, annoyed that she continued to invade his little territory. He slowed and caught his breath as she rubbed her paws and sniffed the watermelons, pacing around them in amazed interest.

"This is it!"

"What, no, that-"

"This is what Jerry described to us a few weeks ago! This is-"

Walrus was fully annoyed now and shoved a paw over her mouth. "This is a watermelon." He said in a stern voice. "Humans eat it and I've tried it. It won't do anything."

The she-cat pulled away from him and scoffed, and began to head for the smallest watermelon there. However Walrus had had enough; he blocked her path.

"Look, this is my place, so these are mine." He said with finality.

Seeing her face begin to droop he added in a confused tone. "... So I... can get you one. But not now. Too heavy, anyways, and my human will notice one's missing. But I can get some to you. Eventually."

The she-cat's face instantly brightened and she nodded again in her vigorous way. Walrus sighed as he lead her back towards he front where she'd came. As she jumped up on the fence to leave, he warned.

"But I don't think it'll be your cure. I'm sorry, I wish I could help."

The she-cat, crouching to jump, stopped. She turned to look down at him, and said in a softened, and surprisingly serious voice.

"I know. But we need some kind of distraction from the past few months... even if it does nothing, we love plants. We appreciate it, really."

With that, she was gone.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Cat Name: Blueswipe
Clan: Wishclan
Rank: Trapper

Gender: Molly
Age: 15 Moons

Prompt:
Blueswipe glared at the twoleg, who was offering some type of red solid. "What the heck is this?" Blueswipe snarled, sniffing at the object. Duckchaser, who had come with her on this mission, shrugged. "Seems to be some kind of… What did Alfie call them? Fruit? Like what an apple is."
The two cats had been sent out to look for new hunting grounds, however, after a particularly harsh storm they had lost their way and found themselves in a twoleg town. Duckchaser had been injured and was unable to hunt, and with the prey being scared away from the storm they had decided to go looking for food around the twoleg settlement.
"Think it’s safe to eat?" Blueswipe asked, and Duckchaser shrugged again. "No idea, but you can try it first."
The she-cat huffed, stretching out her neck to once again sniff at it, before gently taking it in her jaws and crouching down to eat. She took a small experimental bite…
And actually kind of enjoyed it.
Sure, the texture was weird and Blueswipe had to chew it a bit to get used to the strange, mushy texture, but after a minute or two she was munching happily on the piece of fruit.
The twoleg went inside and came out with another piece, and Duckchaser did the same thing she had done – a small nibble before realising it was rather tasty.
"But what is it?"
"It’s watermelon, silly." A soft voice said, and both cats turned to look up at a long-haired, white she-cat. She had a pale blue collar with a small pendant, and she was standing at the entrance of the twoleg’s den.
"Watermelon?"

Cat Name: Soft (later Softstep)
Clan: Oddclan (link in sig)
Rank: Apprentice

Gender: Molly
Age: 17 moons

Prompt:
Soft bounced around with silent paws, stalking her unsuspecting prey as she waited for Echostrike to appear. With a twitch of her whiskers and a quiet sniff, Soft soon knew that Echostrike was close, and flicked her tail slightly to signal to the other cat that she knew she wasn’t alone now. Echostrike soon appeared and began meowing quietly at Soft, no doubt giving directions and suggestions. Soft couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Echostrike wasn’t even facing her!
With a shrug, Soft turned away and bolted towards her prey, oblivious to the furious meowing of her clan mate as she struggled to catch up. As Soft reached the prey and sank her claws in though, she knew Echostrike would forgive her quicky, and maybe even feel bad about it. I mean, what’s the use in talking without facing the near deaf cat! She could hardly hear a thing! And without the actions clearly shown... well, it just looked like everyone was saying “watermelon” to her!

(Based off of the joke that if you don’t know the words, mouthing watermelon will work for anything to pretend in performing)

Prompt:
Claws struck out, catching the light and glinting as they scraped across fur, tearing the pelt of the cats fighting. Violetbelly, a strong and capable TideClan warrior, was one of these fighting cats. She was one of the best fighters in TideClan, and she wouldn't stop until PalmClan was defeated.

A large sound was heard from above - a helicopters wings could be heard. Cats didn't pay it any attention though, they were used to the occasional large metal bird soaring across the sky.

But what happened next was completely unexpected.

A large green melon fell from the helicopter, plummeting towards the ground, picking up speed as gravity tugged at it. It approached the ground, splattering into a large puddle in front of the fighting cats who all gathered around to see it.

"It's a sign from our warrior ancestors! We must stop fighting. TideClan retreat!"

Cats fled, retreating from the broken watermelon laying in the grass.

It had to have been the strangest word she’d ever heard.

“-the watermelon was, like, as big as me!” an excited kit rambled on to his mother. From what she could gather, he and the other kits had been playing in the woods when they stumbled upon a “watermelon”. What did that even mean?

She knew what water is and she knew what a melon was, but how did those things come together to create a “watermelon”. Was it a melon full of water, perhaps? But that made little sense to her. Water comes from the sky, not from fruit like a melon.

She decided then and there she was going to figure out what a watermelon was. Little did she know this was the start of her villain origin story...

Cat Name: Mintwing (Formerly Kittypet, Minty)
Clan: Saltclan (link in sig)
Rank: Warrior

Gender: she-cat
Age: 23 moons

Prompt:
The blue cat made a great effort to maneuver the watermelon through the rocks above the cliff, using all her might to bring the sweet treat to her clan, when a cat behind her cleared their throat in confusion. "Mintleaf..." Minnowstar started, her brows furrowed in confusion. "What in Starclan's name.... Is that?" The blue scoffed, lashing her tail behind her. "A watermelon, obviously. Minnowstar, you're just daft! These are the best, better than mouse or fish any day, don't you know?" Mintleaf rubbed up against the cold (and albeit scuffed and bruised) fruit. "My twolegs used to leave pieces out for us, though I'm not.... Sure how to actually eat it."

Minnowstar shook her head. "So you're telling me that, after the rest of the patrol came back, somehow losing you along the way, you take the entire day to journey to the twoleg place for.... A melon?" Mintleaf flagged her tail over her back with pride. "You bet! Oh gosh the kits and elders will love it, I'll show you, Minnowstar"

Minnowstar shrugged, defeated. Today wasnt the day to try and teach the new warrior a lesson, but it would be the day she would allow the kitty-warrior to introduce something to the clan. What could it hurt?

With a sigh, Minnowstar gave the she-cat a small smile. "We'll discuss the situation tomorrow, Mintleaf, but as long as you can open it, you can share it with the clan. I'm sure the kits and elders would try something new."

And yes, it was successfully dropped off the cliff with a splat onto the rocks below. The melon was enjoyed all week, much to Minnowstar's discouragement. How in the world was she to teach this new warrior if she kept proving her wrong?

    Rank: Apprentice

    Gender: Tom
    Age: 11 moons

    Prompt:
SPACEOwlpaw crouched, his luminous yellow eyes darting about, watching for any wandering two-legs. He had been warned that this was a foolish exploit, scolded even. The apprentice knew his elders were probably correct but he knew how to be careful. Seeing no dangers, the lanky grey cat launched himself out of the hedge he had been hiding in and bounded quickly over to the large silver bins by the two-legs' den. Owlpaw could smell it; the sweet scent tantalizing him, just out of reach. With a big push of his hind legs, he landed in the heap of trash with his prize front and center before his twitching nose.
SPACEWith a mewl of delight, Owlpaw grasped the watermelon rind in his mouth, preparing to scamper back to safety. Just as he was repositioning his gangly legs to jump, there was a loud shriek behind him. Startled, Owlpaw whipped around, gazing up over the rim of the trash can into the wide eyes of an equally startled two-leg. For a moment, they both stood frozen. Fortunately, the apprentice was able to shake himself out of it enough to snatch up his watermelon rind again and jump out of the trashcan. As he was bolting for the safety of the hedges, Owlpaw heard an odd chortling noise behind him but did not look back. He had his prize and could not wait to devour the sweet piece melon.

Cat Name: Waterfall
Clan: Thornclan – link in sig
Rank: Warrior

Gender: She-cat
Age: 25 Moons

Prompt:
A young kit ran after her mother, excitedly chattering as they went further into the woods. The mother picked up the kit as she began to breathe heavily, trying to lie down. “Come, we are close,” the mother says, grabbing the nape of the kit harshly, digging her fangs in.

The mother led them into the clearing where rocks were hollowed and trees lay bare. “You’ll fit in here much better than with that mousebrained cat that dared to call you his child. You’re no kittypet.”

The trees rustled as a light wind picked up and the kit tried to curl herself up as small as possible, but it was difficult in her mother’s jaw. As a large she-cat exited the cave of the highest point, the young kit was placed harshly on the ground as her mother spoke up to the she-cat that simply glared at them.

“She’ll make a fine warrior. My mate might have deserted us but this kit is more me than my mate. She ain’t no kittypet,” her mother said with such distaste that all she could do was try to squirm away but her mother simply pressed her paw against her, holding the young kit down.

“Fine, she may stay but if she proves to be more hassle than she is worth, she’s gone – and so are you,” the she-cat upon the high ground snarled. “What’s her name?”

The kit spoke up, finding her voice as the older cats towered over her, leaving her no room to escape. “My papa called me watermelon because I am round and sweet,” she chirped, looking excitedly at her mother, hoping she had done something right.

“That ain’t no warrior name. Her name is Waterkit, and I’ll make sure she ain’t sweet by the time she’s an apprentice, I promise you that.”

The taller she-cat simply nodded at her mother before walking away, causing a rippling effect of the cats that were witness to the spectacle, leaving just the two of them in the clearing. “You are a warrior, don’t you forget it, watermelon,” she snarled, saying her name with all the hatred that her father could never have had, not towards her. “You’re waterkit now. You are a warrior.”
