Khimaira Friesians - Breeding

Postby HowlingHooves » Fri Feb 01, 2019 7:56 am

    What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

    Father: Agrigar
    Father: Zephnyr
    Owner: PuppygirlWillow
    Show Name: Victory Through Time
    Barn Name: Araqiel
    Gender: Mare
    Age: unknown
    Height: 17 hh
Color: Dappled Rose Grey (Red Dun) Khim Fog Irregular Khim Overo + Brindle, Dragon Blood Mark
Genetics: ee Aa Ff Dd GG Kfkf Koko +Dapples, Brindle, Irregular Khim Overo (Sun shaped), Bloodmark
    Breeding Info:
    • Carries Agouti.
    • Dominant for Grey.
    • Dapples pass at 50%.
    • Irregular Khim Overo passes at 30%. Will always be Sun shaped.
    • Dragon Blood Mark passes at 30% to immediate offspring, but no further.
    • Brindle passes at 30%.

The competition for this one is both themed, and more traditional than the rest of the breedings previous.
Her fathers are both from a scene of my personal creation; Agrigar is a human Knight Errant, formerly a Prince (fourth in line, he didn't mind leaving.), who was cursed with longevity as well as the ability to shift into a draft horse. (aka, his Khim representation.)
Lord Zephnyr is a mostly benevolent God of the Sun; he is at war with a usurper who managed to worm his way into the ranks of God and Goddess alongside his brothers and sisters. Said usurper is a tyrant, a necromancer and is only able to hold the form of a decaying dragon while in the physical realm. (His name is Adhikshita, if anyone is curious. He is entirely evil and nasty.)
    This world is based in more medieval time periods! Swords, arrows, dragon slayers, magic, elves! It's very open, so don't feel like you may be stepping on toes with lore. You're not missing any basic knowledge you'd need, I promise. c;

Re: Khimaira Friesians - Breeding

Owner: Exotica.
Show Name: The Magic in Mania
Barn Name: Mystic
Halter Color: Crimson Red
Jewel Color: Eye Color

Mystic is a shifter just like her father Agrigar. She does not feel this is a curse, but more so a blessing. She can shift between her human form, and her draft horse/Khim form. She inhereted powers from both of her fathers, so she has Agrigar's longevity and shifter ability, with some of the magic that comes from Zephnyr being a God. She is oblivious to the fact that Zephnyr is a God, she is only aware of the fact that he too has magical abilities. She also knows of his quarrel with Adhikshita, and of course sides with her father. Mystic permits nobody to ride her, as the human in her finds the concept utterly uncomfortable.

Mystic loves both of her fathers dearly, and is grateful to have grown up under their guidance. They have taught her well, and shown her love in its purest form. She lives with both of them in a deceivingly small house - of course, using magic, her fathers have made the interior the size of a castle - at the edge of the Kingdom Agrigar was 4th in line for the throne of.

As a young girl, Mystic spent her time in her human form, as she didn't know she was a shifter. On her 15th birthday, Mystic shifted for her first time. Before then, she had no idea that magic was real. She thought her father's stories were all fairytales, made up just to keep her attention. On her 18th birthday, Zephnyr began teaching her how to be a protector, a warrior. He was always weary that she would not be fit to protect herself if Adhikshita attacked. Within a year, Mystic was the best warrior in the kingdom. She beat every challenger with ease, and vowed to protect her homelands. When at war, she would shift into her Khim form and ride over to the opponent's camp. The opponent was not aware that this horse was actually the greatest warrior they will ever come across. Once she reaches the camp and all have gathered round to see the peculiar horse, she shifts back to human, draws a sword in one hand, and a fireball in the other, then proceeds to defeat the enemy in a matter of minutes.

Show Name:
The Chosen Royal
Barn Name:
Carrol
Halter Color:
Silver or royal blue
Jewel Color:
gold

Extras/addition:
Her rider is an elf who can speak to horses, dogs and cats. Carrol is just a regular horse, or so it seems. She doesn’t have the power to shift, though.

She loves her fathers, and knows both of them, just enough to know they care about her and she should care about them too. She wants to be a guardian, but she still has learning to do, as does her rider. She was told by Agrigar about Zephnyr one night, when Agrigar believed her to be asleep. She doesn’t tell anyone, with exception of having told the elf she trusts, because she doesn’t want Zephnyr in any danger.

She absolutely does not support Adhikshita...In fact, she quite dislikes him for trying to get rid of her father. She would strike him with her hooves and send him to his doom, if she could. So, definitely on Zephnyr’s side, as you can tell. That’s another reason she wants to be a guardian: maybe then she’d be strong enough to help.

With more training and time, she and her rider will make great guardians. One day, one day in the future...that’s what they will become, Carrol will achieve her dream of being a guardian and being useful to her fathers.

Owner: PuppygirlWillow
Show Name: Victory Through Time
Barn Name: Araqiel
She wears no halter (I would eventually try and kit her out with armor like the human figure, but need to buy items).
Age: Unknown
Theme Song: x / Full Playlist: x

Personality: The Guardian has a sharp, eidetic memory like her father and this makes her feel very assured in many situations, the known and the unknown both. She is a natural born leader, even though she prefers a more solitary life in general. Others just seem to gravitate to her confidence. She ultimately wants her home to exist in peace, and will do whatever she can to get it. If she has to be ruthless to get what she wants for the sake of the greater good, she will do it.

History: Araqiel is the Guardian of her home. She was raised in her home of Struynia, raised by her father, Agrigar. She was raised from a young age as a Guardian like her father. She knows about the prophecy that was made when she was born, and though she doesn't really know her other father, Zephynyr, she feels honour bound to follow in the footsteps of her fathers both.

Araqiel is on her father's side hands down in regards to his main enemy and has a vindictive streak against dragons of all descriptions, Adhikshita or not, just in case he has slipped through the cracks and worked out some way to slide past the image of the dracolich (undead dragon). She is very suspicious of any dragon and is more likely to strike them down before asking questions. She believes that she is destined to be the one to destroy Adhikshita because of the marking on her flank (and her tattoos on her human form) and the prophecy. Ironically, she cannot remember that the prophecy itself was made by a dragon. She found out she could change forms at the age of 6, and though she does not speak when she does out of choice, she finds the form versatile enough to interact and help with the mortals she swore to protect.

"It is done."

Agrigar let out a breath and then nodded gravely, the weight of this moment truly settling in. He had a daughter. The one that had spoken left the room and closed the door behind her.

Naturally, he had known, but the forces of element made it seem like such a fleeting, passing thing that he hadn't really, deep in his heart, taken it so seriously. Now, there was a real, living being in front of him. A newborn foal curled up in the straw, marked with the dragon and the sun, a perfect cross between himself and Zephnyr.

He himself was in his equine form, and he could not resist taking a step forward towards this seemingly helpless creature. For one moment, he paused, wondering what the future held for them both, when a loud roar shook the building around them. Before he could react, a blue-tinged figure had entered the room, not quite opaque enough to imply a real creature present, but enough to cause great alarm. He barely noticed his minutes-old daughter jump to her feet, alert and watching herself.

The dragon, for indeed, it was a dragon, spoke, and its voice sounded as the depths of the ocean- endless and mysterious. "Do not be afraid. I will not harm you. Great Guardian, please, approach my image."

Knowing in his deepest heart that this creature was not only being projected by some form of magic, but could also not be his greatest enemy, Agrigar approached, the great stallion steady and confident, a deep knowledge of his own power evident in every move of his current form. "I greet the Dragon."

The projection bowed its head in acknowledgement and turned immediately to face the filly, who now looked at them both with a confidence that belied her uncertainty. To be brought into the world and then faced with this- she would truly be spectacular, and little did they know, but they were about to find out exactly how.

"On the eighth day after the longest night, there shall be a sunrise, red as blood, that shall drip as if wounded. It is on this day, that the Guardian will face her eternal enemy and face him in a battle so fierce it will part the heavens. Victory is assured for one, the other doomed to pass. Mortal they shall be, but for a moment, when the Fates decide."

With no other sign, not even a flicker, the dragon disappeared, and the great stallion could not help the slightest flinch of his head. His daughter met the eyes of her father for the first time, and a small nicker escaped, almost imploring in tone. "Father?"

"Araqiel."

The young filly walked through the small village between the two hills that framed her life, Crebain on her shoulder and her usual serious expression. As they approached their current home, the raven spoke to his friend in his usual way. "Why, my friend, are you so dejected on your day of birth?" Anyone listening to it would hear the usual cawing, but Araqiel understood. She spoke back to her companion in her own way, this time, with no sound made. I must focus on my task, no matter the event. I must be prepared.

As they reached the house, the girl took a quick look around, before shifting back to her true form, a beautiful filly yearling. As Crebain took to the air, she shook herself gently, mane flowing, and then entered the wooden structure, letting the raven land on her wither. It was in that moment that she noticed what waited for her.

A giant stallion stood in the main room, facing the door, his pure eyes piercing her. Her eyes flicked quickly to take in the rest of the room, and she noticed her father, almost dwarfed by the large, Godly presence. As she took one step forward, her whole demeanour changed, confidence in her step, her eyes almost piercing him back.

He took one step to meet her, his sun marking, so like hers, seemed to be glowing. His muzzle touched her forelock for one brief moment, even Crebain was still and silent, before there was a flash of piercing bright light, and he was gone. Looking to the father she knew, she then lifted her head, staring upwards, towards the realms above. "And greetings to you too, Zephnyr."

Wandering through the woods outside her home, the now young mare was surveying the area she was forever destined to protect. It was close to sundown, and the dappled light filtering through the branches created a deceptive rippling effect on her coat, almost camoflagued. Certainly it would be hard for any predators or... she shuddered... dragons.

As even the idea of the winged beasts infuriated her, her step became heavier and more distinct, her hooves striking up small spouts of dust as she followed the well-worn bridle path. She was in her equine form again, now beautiful and awe-inspiring to those she protected- her mane and tail long and flowing, her size, now closer to her father, making her stand out in a spectacular fashion. Even her human form was at it's full height, almost 6 feet.

Reaching a small clearing she ended up at almost ever night, Araqiel shook her coat out, just at the moment the sun passed the horizon, and the light shining towards her started to dim quickly, the light blue highlighting the waning moon, newly risen, up above. For one moment, in the fading light, the Guardian throught of her father, Zephnyr, the Sun. She wondered for a moment who ruled the moon, but before she could even guess, she heard a call unlike anything she had heard before.

It was a cross between a laugh and a squack, like a common parrot but deeper, and gruffer. Deciding to find out what it was, she headed towards the sound that continued, piercing the forest and reaching her keen ears easily, making them flick a little in curiosity. She had a suspicion on what it could be, but wanted to confirm before she came to any conclusions. As she reached a smaller tree she hadn't noticed before, just a sapling, she noticed some movement at the top, a dark shape that was a little bit hard to make out. Moving forward, the call was made again and she could make out a beak... a head... a wing... and then, she realised. It was a raven.

Raven's were not common at all in this part of Struynia, let alone in a deep forest away from any large settlements. She approached the sapling as te raven spotted her in turn, stopping its calls, it beady, keen eyes watching her. There was intelligence to the gaze, and Araqiel was curious about its understanding. Most birds she had met were very dumb, and could not even talk. This bird intrigued her already, and she hadn't even attempted speaking. Until now. "Good raven, greetings. What brings you to the Forest of Balor?"

The raven cocked its head and paused for a moment, seeming to freeze as if it was considering her question. It took more than a minute for the Guardian to feel a little foolish, and she turned to leave just as he decided to reply. "I seek you, Guardian of the People; Daughter of the Sun."

They have been unseperable ever since, Arqiel and Crebain.

Owner:
Queen Chrysalis

Show Name:
Empress Of Time

Barn Name:
Empress

Halter Color:
Purple

Jewel Color:
Silver

Age:
25

On her fathers:
I know next to nothing of my fathers and have no desire to know more! I know is the power to shift is from the one known as Zephnyr, some sort of knight errant. The other one? A complete mystery and I have no desire to find anything more on either of them. They were never there for me so I shall not be there for them

On her occupation:
I am an assassin, I strike from the shadows on the orders of whomever pays my fee. They get no loyalty from me, I do the job and nothing else. Whatever stupid fancies they get into their heads have nothing to do with me. I have caused nations to rise and fall with nothing but a removal of a single person. I control every single assassin who is worth their weight in gold, the lesser ones may run rampart but as soon as they step on my toes they either come under my control or are disposed of.

Personality:
Empress cares for no one, the world is selfish cold and cruel. So Empress conditioned herself to be something similar. She has no empathy for the suffering of others though that does not mean she enjoys the fact they are suffering. Empress locks her emotions away so that they can't mess her work up, sadly that makes it all the more easier for them to escape in the dark of night when she's alone. She keeps her cool fantastically well but sometimes the mere mention of either of fathers is enough to crush that cool and send her temper skyrocketing.

Storytime:
"The child of sunlight will bring down the heavens and bring the world to its knees" ~Some prophecy only idiots deem important (In the words of Empress herself)

They threw the man down onto his knees in front of the throne before roughly yanking the sack from over his head. The cold blue eyes of the Queen of Assassins stared down at him, her fingers folded into steeples before her face as she merely waited for him to speak.

"Well? I'm waiting" she spoke coldly, her voice as icy as her eyes. The man trembled violently.

"I-I beg of y-your assistance in a matter m-most dire" he stuttered.

"Oh? And what is the job? One for the simpletons? Or is it something I myself must handle?" She questioned, causing some of the others in the room to laugh at the insult. All the higher ups knew that simpletons meant the those more new to the guild and or the profession itself.

"M-my lord wishes t-the one known as Z-Zephnyr to be d-dealt with" the man squeaked out as the icy eyes bore into him. Empress almost sighed when he spoke up once more. "l-Lord Adhikshita t-thought you might b-be inclined to r-rid the world of y-your father" his voice shrank to almost a whisper on the word father.

"Woe betide anyone who disrespected the queen"

"You must think me an idiot. It is true there are none better than me in this place but even the combined efforts of every single assassin in the guild wouldn't be enough to take down a god" she replied. Then froze as one particular word sank in. Those blue eyes burned as she stepped down from her throne. "My father?! REMOVE HIM FROM MY SIGHTS AND YOU, IF I EVER SEE YOUR MISERABLE FACE ANYWHERE NEAR HERE AGAIN I WILL PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT YOUR EXISTENCE ENDS!" Fury poured off the queen in waves and the man scrabbled backward, face gone pale with terror.

The bag was shoved back over his head and the man dragged away from the woman still radiating fury. A brown quite insect like hand settled on one bare shoulder its owner, a young woman with long hair and eyes the colour of dried blood. She said nothing only tilted her head at the queen silently asking something of the other female, the fire in those blue eyes seemed to flicker and die. A heavy sigh escaped the red painted lips.

"I am fine, thank you Talshara" Empress offered quietly. The one known as Talshara merely smiled and nodded in response.

Postby HowlingHooves » Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:05 am

Due to lack of interest, I will be closing this competition on Friday, February 15th rather than the 20th! For anyone who has posted a WIP or has not yet posted, you have one week to complete your entry!
I will no longer accept requests for extensions on this competition.

    There is a final breeding I will release after this ends, with the same competition parameters! It will be themed, it will be unlimited, and there will be plenty of time to complete forms as well. c;

    Thanks guys!

    Congrats, Willow!
I really enjoyed your take on this gal, and Araqiel certainly fits in with the personal lore for my little world. <3
    Araqiel is yours, go forth and destroy darkness! c;
I'm happy to try my hand at armor once you have the items and permission, but I'm also happy to add another so it can be added as well, whatever you want to be done.

With this done, I have one more to release and then I'll be closing up the event upon its conclusion.
Can't wait to see entries for my last babe.
