I had way too much fun (and spend way too much time) on this lil shawl thing. omg.
Regardless! I really like how this kid turned out, sort of inspired by like a deer & snow? Idk, it just sort of happened.
I think contest wise, I want something sort of simple-ish? So how about hobby + (optional) extra!

one he discovered others will pay for good designs around there house. when living at home with his parents he was always moving the furniture in his room his mom would tell him to clean his room and he would just moved things around to make his room less cluttered looking. daddy always told him he will get nowhere in life just moving furniture, but looks like he did anyway.

--my extra: an art piece of this gal, when she was younger, working on one of her first gingerbread houses. I had fun drawing it all lopsided and drippy :> Small Giselle is doing her best! The white smudges are supposed to be stray icing marks- take it from someone who's made gingerbread houses before. Icing smudges get everywhere.

Giselle loves gingerbread houses. She’s a decent baker all around, and bakes throughout the year, but she always looks forward to the holiday season. Gingerbread house-making season.

Giselle has been making gingerbread houses for years. Her mom loved to make them when she was growing up, and young Giselle loved chipping in wherever she could. Though she wasn’t exactly skilled at creating houses- even sticking them together was a challenging proposition, often with lopsided results- she loved it. No two houses were the same! And you got to work with (and yeah, sometimes eat) candy!

Though she didn’t get off to the most... skilled start with her hobby, Giselle’s skill has increased exponentially over the years. At first she was content to let her mom make the gingerbread, but then she stared helping with the cooking process. Before long she’d memorized the recipe and mastered the baking of gingerbread for their houses. She looked at decorated houses on the internet for design tips, and experimented with icing until she found a perfect mixture for sticking the walls of her houses together. Within a few years, her houses were becoming almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

Nowadays, Giselle loves making gingerbread houses just as much as she used too. One big difference from then to now, aside from her increase in skill, is that she shares them, too. It’s not uncommon for Giselle to make houses for her friends, taking their favorite candies and color schemes into account in creating their houses. Whether her creations get taken home and beautifully preserved or completely eaten, Giselle loves seeing the looks on her friends’ faces when she presents them with another one of her gingerbread houses.

Letty's favorite hobby is collecting and restoring old snow globes, When she was little she was in a thrift store with her parents when she accidentally knocked over a box of old snow globs... the owner of the store made her parents buy them. The took them home and Letty took them each out of the box and looked over them, most of them were badly broken. With permission from her dad, she borrowed his work gloves and began pulling the broken glass from the globes. After much work, and some help from her father she managed to restore the globes. She put them up in her room.

Now that she has grown she sells the restored globes to other Viscet's, she will also fix them for a small fee. Sometimes she even takes the old seen from the middle of it and makes her own. One of her favorites being a Christmas snow globe with mini figures of her and her parents.

hobby/how did they get in it;

She removed her paws from the creamy white surface of the piano, watching as her brother walked out with their father. All their stuff packed and in the truck. Her heart sank once the realization settled in, that it would be the last time she would see her brother.

Nikolai used to play the piano when she was young, and her brother, Justin, would join along with her and play the violin or viola. This was when their parents weren't home or if it was around Christmas time that they would play the lovely instruments. The would play a variety of songs like The Sugar Plum Fairy or Carol of the Bells, but they didn't play to perfection. However, it didn't last long. One December, her parents filed a divorce and their dad ended up getting custody over Justin, while her mother got custody over Nikolai. They weren't allowed to see each other, as both parents hated each other, and not to mention that Justin and their dad moved to South Dakota, while Nikolai and her mother stayed in Alaska.

Her mother then enrolled her in a private school where she met her childhood friend, Marcey. When she came out to Marcey about this (around 5th grade), Marcey felt pity towards her and offered a different activity to try: ice skating. Nikolai was wary about the idea at first, as rollerblading didn't work out for her too well last year, but she decided to give it a try.

At first, she wasn't good at all. But Marcey's mother, who worked at the ice rink as a teacher, offered her to give her some lessons, which she accepted the offer and started to take the lessons after school from 4-8:30pm. This did tire her and she wouldn't do much of her normal activities after school, but it did take her mind off of her brother and father.

As she continued to practice and practice, she got better (and sustained a few injuries). And by this point, she ended up 'claiming' a little land in the forest where a pond is frozen over in early October, where she would execute a few figure eights and camel spins, with of course with the help of Marcey who keeps the pond a secret.

However, there was this one December when she was in 11th grade where one day she found a mysterious bag full of peppermint bark, one of her's and her brother's favorite treats, on her desk. She was confused by this but she thought it was brought by her crush, which of course she thought it wasn't true, as she didn't talk to her crush that often. And then there was the question of how would he have known if she didn't talk about the things that reminded her of her brother?

Nikolai wasn't thinking about it at first, but it could've been Marcey, but she said that she didn't have have the time to make homemade peppermint bark or time to place it on her desk as she arrived a few minutes after Nikolai did. When this news reached her, she went on with the day, distracted about the bag of the treat.

When the day ended, she went ahead and went to her pond. She arrived, with a slight complication: someone other than Marcey was there. She was furious by this and told him to leave, but he said he couldn't, as he already left her once before. She was startled, but before she got a chance to say anything, the mailman removed his cap and reveal himself as Justin Winston, Nikolai's brother. She didn't believe it at first, but she realized that it explained the peppermint bark. Turns out Justin sneaked into school grounds and placed the treat on her desk. Before getting thrown out the door.

After getting caught up, for hours, Marcey came. They both attempted to teach Justin how to skate, but he ended up breaking the ice and falling through. Luckily he was okay when she and Marcey pulled him out.

"You're an idiot!" Nikolia laughed, handing him her plain shawl.
"Takes one to know one," Justin remarked.

---"Well, the Queen was a beautiful and elegant Viscet with an air of mystery about her. Everyone loved her. Perhaps her most famous qualities were her incredible sewing skills and her endless compassion and generosity.
---"She learned to sew back in her homeland when she was still young, before she came to this kingdom. Though if you ever asked her, she'd tell you that she never used to like sewing or knitting all that much. She says that the first time she ever really put her talent to use was when they were sailing over to our country and the cold northern wind proved too frigid for the coat she'd brought. So she put her skills to the test and created herself a red and green patterned shawl with a fur hood. The same shawl she continued to wear for many years after.
---"Shortly after she arrived to the palace, a series of severe blizzards hit that confined everyone to their homes for several weeks. During all that downtime, Claire decided to ease her boredom by sewing and knitting various items. From fluffy hats that would suit a Viscling well to long flowing scarves, she created all sorts of garments.
---"When the snowstorms finally passed, she set out to meet the Viscets she'd be living with for the next couple years. While she was out, she encountered two shivering Visclings without warm clothes. Struck by compassion and the desire to help, she returned the next day with a bundle of coats and scarves. Seeing how her talents could aid those in need, she began sewing more winter garments and donating them as her personal side hobby."

---The sound of a softly crackling fire broke the silence and interrupted the two Viscets from their reverie. The fire was low and shadows clung thick to their forms. The one on the right turned their head towards the fire and gazed at it with half-lidded eyes for a quiet moment.
---"Thank you. That will be all. You're dismissed."
---At his words, the second Viscet bowed their head and murmured a soft, "Yes my Prince," before standing and exiting. The door closed with gentle thump.
---The first Viscet remained still, looking pensively into the flames for a minute longer. With a heavy sigh, he reached up and removed the golden circlet from his head, holding in his paws in front of him.
---The light from the fire danced over it and was reflected in the depths of the five green emeralds embedded there. His paw brushed lightly over them, hovering for a moment over the center stone. His pad gently rubbed at a faint scratch on its surface and as he stared at the verdant depths of the gem, he allowed himself to be taken back to his memories once more.
---"Of course she'd choose emerald. It always was her favorite," he chuckled softly to himself.
---Letting out another sigh, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them again, he gently set the circlet on the sofa beside him. He reached into his breast pocket and after a moment of fumbling with the fabric, pulled out a folded and very worn square of paper. It unfolded with the soft rustling of aged parchment and he gazed upon the words written so delicately there, barely visible in the flickering light. His eyes lit upon the last sentence.
---"- I know facing this alone is difficult for you, but have faith in yourself. You've already proven yourself capable in the time your father and I have been away, and I know that you'll be able to handle this situation too, no matter how dire it may seem.

---It wasn't until a tear landed on his paw that he realized he was trembling. Quickly wiping away the remaining tears threatening to join the first, he folded the letter up and returned it to his pocket. Once more he picked up the circlet and gazed at it as he held it in his lap before glancing up to look at the flames once more.
---"I promise I won't let you down, Mother," Kyne whispered softly.

what's their hobby & how'd they get into it? (min. 150 words & max. 700 words) Tinker is an artist who sees everything as art and would love to one day paint or draw something no one has ever seen before. So she practices as much as possible and it tends to get a little messy sometimes but she always cleans heress no matter what. She always displays her work on the fridge so that her parents can see. She prefers to draw nature but will draw or paint anything that catches her eye. During the summer she will set up a stand in front of her house and sell peices or her own art to people, adults and kids alike. She sells pottery, Jewelery, paintings, drawings, and little Nick nacks or trinkets she makes for money. And then she spends the money she earns on both Christmas and birthday presents for everyone she knows. What little is left she spends on art supplies. She also like to practice photography and always has a camera nearby to take picks of the things around her. She will always be caught photographing every peice of their vacations and trips and makes photo books and scrap books for everyone that went. Taking pictures of the mountains and the the buildings, of the people and their families, and her own. With permission of course. Everyone loves her work and wonder what she'll grow to be, a photographer, and artist, or even both.
