Short halloween story: It had been a long night, and Alec was still outside exploring the dark forest next to his home. It hah been about five hours since he had first ventured out, and the sun was beginning to go down. Whenever the sun would go down, things in the forest would get.... creepy. No Viscet quite knew why the forest got so scary in the middle of the night, all they knew is that whenever anything alive would go in that forest at night, it would never come back out again. Alec, however, wasn't scared of this mysterious forest, and he called it "The Forest of Mystery", and ever since he was a little viscet he has wanted to explore it at night and see what happened. He didn't care if he got attacked, hurt, or even eaten, all he wanted was to find out what happened to everything alive that went into the forest. All night so far, he has been searching for places to hide. He had found places in trees, and under bushes, and even in random holes in the ground. He was very prepared to get hurt, or even die, and he was ready for anything at this point. The sun had finally gone down, and the cricket noises slowly began to fill the area, and it was weird when Alec started seeing large frogs hop out of the bushes. He didn't expect there to be anything alive in the forest after all of the rumors, and nothing was out when the sun was out either. He noticed more and more creatures coming out, like small bunnies and snakes. They looked like they where having fun, dancing under the moonlight. The stars filled the sky, and more and more animals filled the forest, making their noises and playing with each other. It was as if the fort was a whole new place, and everyone was happy. Alec was very surprised to see this many creatures, but at the same time he wanted to join them in their fun. He smiled, running out into the clearing of animals, and began to play with them. He noticed how happy they looked to see a Viscet in the forest, because they thought that all Viscets were scared of the forest. He could communicate with them and life was already way better. He decided he would stay here, for the rest of his life. (402)
