prompt (1 or 2): One day, Kimmy was outside on her porch popping a few smokes. She then saw a rat on her driveway that looked dead. She walked over to investigate, the small creature looked like it had been attacked by something. Kimmy got a soft blanket and took it inside. She cleaned it up and started tending to its wounds. Upon further examination, she found they it had a bunch of ticks. Kimmy removed them of course and kept the rat until of healed. At least that was what she planned to do. She found that she had grown attached to it and didn't want to release it. She gave it the name Faith and kept it ever since. Though, Kimmy still doesn't know if its a boy or a girl.

Her pet rat was actually a gift from her therapist, you see, Harl has crippling anxiety and a deep seated fear of rats. So, naturally, her therapist thought it might be a good idea to give her a companion, that could not only help her with her phobia, but also help to calm her during panic attacks. Kind of like a support animal. At first, Harley, refused the rat, but her therapist insisted, and eventually harley gave in to her. For the first few months, the rat wasn't really a help, and harley hardly had the courage to slip food through his cage, but soon she fell victim to his giant eyes and fluffy coat. It was slow progress, but eventually she gave the rat a name, and soon got attached. She decided on Cysur (Welsh for comfort, as she has a welsh background). Now they are utterly inseparable, and Cysur practically lives in her pocket.

prompt (2): Marion has an older brother who breeds rats as feeders for his pet snake. As soon as she saw a fluffy rat in one of the litters, she had to have it. Marion saved it from being eaten by her brothers snake, and named it Survie. Survie goes everywhere with her. She's always on the lookout for other cool mutations in her brother's feeder rats, but so far, Survie has been the only one.
