While exploring, you have a chance to find food/herbs, encounter some friendly faces, and even find rare items! However, remember this is a survival game! Your cats may get sick, engage in battles with predators, fight in border skirmishes, or receive random injuries. Your cats will not die in explore unless you opt-in to death. Everything you do in explore will earn you experience (EXP / XP), which is used to level-up and earn cool rewards (below)!

Here are some pointers to help you get started!
1. To begin, fill out the explore code provided below! Both the quote box version and the linear version have the same info and are just coded differently, feel free to pick either one to use! Alternatively, you may also create your own code, but please keep all the information from the base coding clearly visible in the post itself (not linked somewhere offsite/on another thread). 2. When you first start out, you’ll receive three free posts. These are given out per user, not per clan and provides your cats time to gather food and herbs! Your cats will gain no hunger for your first three posts. They also won’t encounter any predators or border skirmishes, fall ill, or receive any random injuries.

3. Max of four cats (adults/apprentices) on explore patrols; and max of two cats (adults/apprentices) on scouting patrols. Make sure to list the correct "patrol type" (see here for more details) as well. Additional cats can be included in your writing, but they won't count towards the rolls and shouldn't be linked in the "cats on patrol" section. Kits cannot be added to the patrol list!
⤷ Note: Scouting patrols have a quicker turnaround time with short, rolls-only replies. Explore patrols involve more detailed, lore-based responses and have a longer turnaround time.

4. HP = health; HUP = hunger! All of your cats will start at 0% HUP (hunger) and 100% HP (health). Find out more information about HUP in “hunger & custom prey” and on HP in “health & healing”.

5. (Customization) Select if you'd like to receive a MYO ticket or a premade explore cat (for random cat rolls) in the code! If you’d like (optional), you may also customize your prey/predator list and/or opt-in for death. Just fill out the forms, post them on the explore thread + link them in your future post(s).
⤷ Note: If not specified, you’ll receive default prey/predators, be opted-out of death, and receive a MYO ticket (for random cat rolls).

6. Explore writing can be about anything as long as the cats listed on patrol are the main focus (please submit other general lore in our prompts mechanic instead)! Ideally, the content should also end with / connect to a patrol. This gives our writers an opportunity to jump in and write! You're also welcome to send a patrol out without any writing as well.

7. After you've sent a patrol out, wait for a writer to reply before sending another one! You can only send one patrol out (across scouting and explore patrols) at a time. Writers have up to one month (from the time they claimed) to have an explore reply out and up to one week (from the time they claimed) to have a scouting reply out. Your post wasn't skipped; we have multiple writers claiming different posts, and some might finish their replies sooner than others.
⤷ Note: You may check if your post has been claimed and find all your prior posts and replies on our explore log.

8. When a writer responds, you may (or may not) receive a mini-scenario! If you’re still on your three free posts, you’ll encounter one of our friendly npcs! Read more about npc tasks and other mini-scenarios here!

ＬＥＶＥＬＳ
To level up, you'll need to earn experience (EXP / XP) through exploring, participating in prompts, or sometimes even events! You'll earn +10XP for every explore post posted, as well as additional experience for writing, participating in battles, finding herbs/food, etc. Every time you level up, you get a reward!

When you level up, your previous experience is "spent" on the level up and will not roll over to your new level. For example, if you have 135XP and are level 0, you'll level up to level 1 and have 35XP left. You cannot skip levels.

All users start at level zero! Experience listed is how much is required to reach that level (+ here is another way to visualize this).

4. The prompts exist for you to use when burnt out or short of time, you can use them without edits at any time. You do not have to explain yourself.
5. You're welcome to write custom replies by modifying rolled prompts or writing from scratch, but please try not to exceed 2 paragraphs to ensure reply timelines are maintained and give the majority of storytelling power to our community!
6. For posts you claim with writing, reward 1 seed per 25 words up to 500 words.
7. For posts with over 500 words of writing, reward instead 1 seed for every 50 words over. Any seeds rolled are added to the total.

ex) Post is 753 words, first 500 words = 20 seeds, 253 words = 5.06, rounded down to 5 seeds, total = 25 seeds.

Default roll ratios, all items are possible. There is a high chance to return with nothing or with collectible items ( Sticks, Pinecones, Pebbles, Leaves, and Bones) and a very small chance to find a Purple Feather (unlimited Rare MYO).

OWNING

DESIGNING

✦ There are no restrictions on what traits can look like. The designs are mostly natural or semi-natural.

Often inspired by; unicorn, pegasus, kirin, kelpie, peryton, horse, deer, goat, wolf, bird, etc.
✦ Even if the entire fable is custom it should remain in the same pose with the same length of the neck, body, and legs.
✦ All fables are made on oekaki.

General Information
1. Artists are required to create the kit's growths prior to postage and get them approved by other staff.

2. The maximum wait time for litters depends on how many kits a litter has. An artist is given 2 weeks per kit. For example, if you roll a 2 kit litter, you can expect to receive the litter within 30 days. If you roll or use items for a 4 kit litter, you can expect to receive the litter within 2 months. This rule has been approved by CS staff - please do not report 3 or 4 kit litters that have taken more than 30 days. Contact Dimi. or Adamented if you believe it's been too long!

3. Genesis does not have any Genetics - breedings will be appearance based. Feel free to include that you'd like genetically possible cats if your clan is realistic, but the artist is under no obligation to do so.

4. Tickets with 2 users involved [if both users are receiving a kitten] are guaranteed 2 kits minimum.

5. In the event of a disagreement when deciding who gets which kit, please contact one of the owners or a moderator. In these instances, the kit in question will be rolled for between the two users.

6. The maximum number of kits per litter is 4, even with the usage of Clovers. Excess clovers will remain in your bank.

7. Your nursery litters will be posted under a cover with each kit colored in beneath it. Please be on the lookout for a cover featuring your user ID(s), not your usernames.

8. Artists have the choice to open slots with kit number limitations [i.e. 1 kit for single users, 2 for split litters]

However, artists can only do this every other opening.

Roll Information

• The rolls for Genesis work a little differently than other places!
  
• The number of kits is rolled on the following scale:
  
  • 1-40: 1 Kit
  • 41-70: 2 Kits
  • 71-90: 3 Kits
  • 91-100: 4 Kits
• No Rarity Edits can be applied by the artist at will - parents do not have to carry No Rarity traits for them to appear in kits.
• For common, uncommon, and rare edits, an artist will add the number of unique traits of the same rarity and then roll for how many are passed to each kit.
  
  • If a 0 is rolled, no traits of that rarity pass.
  • For example, if Cat A has 3 common traits and Cat B has 3 common traits, and 1 of those traits is shared between them, the artist will roll 0-5 for each kit. If the artist rolls a 3, then 3 common traits between both cats trait lists will pass to that kit - artists will choose which ones.
  • With common traits, artists have the option of substituting one of the traits rolled for one neither of the parents carry - this is to allow for more variety in a cat's lineage!
• If the parents share a common or higher trait, then in addition to normal rolls the artist will roll 1-100 (essentially flipping a coin). On 1-50, the trait does not pass, on 51-100, the shared trait passes. This is to ensure some consistency!
• This roll system as a whole is in place to give your kits more diversity, and artists more freedom!

- Galingales can breed 3 weeks after creation.
- Galingales must not be related, up to 3 generations, to breed.
- Breeding can only take place between Stallions and Mares. Unless you have a "Same Gender Breeding" ticket, or a Strider with the Hermaphrodite mutation.
- You can apply for breeding's 2 times a month.
- Owners of Breeding's may give up any of the foals for adoption if they do not wish to claim them.
- How many foals your Galingales will produce will be randomly rolled. Twins (15%) Triplets (5%).
- Using a "Twins Ticket" or "Triplet Ticket" will grant you that amount of foals automatically.
- Any payments must be made to artists before foals are made.
- Breedings are not customs.
- Foals will not be re-made after creation.
- You will be allowed to make 3 trait suggestions per foal. Though they may not be guaranteed. Traits such as eye color, leg markings, facial markings, etc... are more acceptable. Traits such as fathers markings with mothers color are less likely to be approved without tickets as it negates our rarity and chance system.
- You may only suggest traits that exist on the parents or grand-parents.
- If you do not own one or both Galingales, then ask the owner/owners for permission to breed them together.
- Permission Quotes, with photo proof, are required for Breeding Applications.
- Faked Permission Quotes will lead to a Suspension or Ban, with full supervision of the staff... Don't Do It.
- Items do not pass down.
- If both parents have different rarities, the traits passed down will be randomly rolled. Common (80%) Very Common (50%) Uncommon (30%) Rare (20%) Very Rare (10%)
- If both parents carry the same rarity the foals will have a 100% chance of receiving that rarity.
- Mutations and physical disabilities have a 10% chance of passing to each foal if one parent carries it.

- Only 1 mutation can be passed down to each foal.
- If both parents carry a different mutation/physical disability and the foal is born with a mutation/physical disability, it has a 50% chance of receiving either one.

• Combined Driving - [english]
Team of 2-4 Striders pulling a carriage with a Driver and 1-2
attendants/passengers. Competing in 3 phases, Dressage,
Marathon and Obstacle Cones. Fewest penalty points wins.

• Harness Racing - [english]
A form of horse racing at a specific pace, usually a trot, with
a driver pulled by a small 2 wheeled chariot. First to cross
the finish wins.

• Show Jumping - [english]
A Strider guided by cues to jump over a series of fence
obstacles in a specific pattern within an allotted amount of
time. Fastest time wins.

• Skijorning - [english]
A winter sport where a Strider pulls their driver through a
snowy coarse with obstacles and jumps while on ski's. Least
amount of penalties and fastest time wins.

• Fine Harness - [english]
1 Strider pulls a 4 wheeled carriage around an arena with a
driver dressed in traditional attire. The Strider must
perform a high knee trot and long strides. Breaking the trot
is penalized. Highest score wins.

• Cutting - [western]
Lead by cues, a Strider will be tasked to keep 1 young
cow/steer away from the rest of the herd for a period of
time. Score will be determined by athleticism and reaction.
If the cattle escapes and makes it back to the herd they are
disqualified.

• Barrel Racing - [western]
A Strider will race around 3 barrels in the form of an upside
down T and back to the start as fast as possible. Penalties
add on time, fastest time wins.

• Pole Bending - [western]
A Strider will race to the top of an arena then weave
through 6 poles twice before racing back to the start.
Fastest time wins.

• Bucking Bronc - [western]
A Strider will have a strap tightened on their lower belly to
encourage bucking. Bags of sand will be attached to a
bucking harness. The Strider will be given 8 seconds to buck
off the bags. Each bag is a certain amount of points. Fastest
time and amount of bags wins.

• Horse Pulling - [western]
A team of 2 Striders will be hooked to a cart full of sand bags.
They will have to pull 3 different carts with 3 different
weights. Farthest pull wins.

• Halter - [other]
A Strider lead by halter will trot around the arena then stand
center and be judged by color, confirmation, and
temperament. Best Strider wins.

• Steeplechase - [other]
A race with various jumps consisting of hedges and ponds.
Fastest Strider wins.

• Endurance Racing - [other]
Striders are kept in barns at the starting location for a couple
months, then are taken very far away and released to run back
to their original location. Rest points are set up along course as
well as "protectors" to keep the Strider safe during their long
journey home. First Strider's to return "home" wins.

• Liberty - [other]
Owner and Strider will create a story telling performance to music
while performing various tricks with only cues and without tools
such as whips, ropes and rods. They are allowed to have various
costumes but it is not required. Judges look for performance,
timing, and story.

• Costume Showing - [other]
Contestants will lead their Striders through the Arena in hand made
costumes. They will then stand in the center to be judged. Judges
will be looking for Quality and Creativity. Best costume wins.

• Herd Position - [no discipline]
If your Strider still remains out in the wild or is too challenging to
tame they may not have any discipline at all. But all horses have a
position within the herd they are around. These positions are Alpha,
Lead, Beta, Middle-Ranking, and Submissive.

- writing prompts must contain a particular word count.
- Training must be posted onto your Striders adoption page.
- You must leave a comment on your Striders Archive Page once training is complete.
- @ on Discord or privately message an Archivist or Owner to inform them of completed training.
- Striders can not be ridden and is a form of abuse.

- you can use multiple tickets on 1 breeding but you can not use more than 1 of the same ticket.
- using rarity tickets on Breedings will only pass down to 1 foal if there are multiple foals in a breeding.

Here are a few additional stipulations to keep in mind....

Conduct
You are required to create a Co-Op archive to use the shop/questing related activities. This does not have to be your main storage for your Joltterbugs, but it is your responsibility to keep it up to date regarding item/currency amounts.
Please do not edit your Joltterbug unless you've had the appropriate items earned and approved by moderators. Doing a Color-In to add accessories is okay
You will be added to your Joltterbug's reference, but please do NOT make any changes to the design, lineart or reference without permission

Quests
Questing is part of the 'free to play' aspect of Joltterbugs, and requires a Co-Op Archive. With enough time and questing often, you can obtain any edits/myo tiers you are looking for. Lumens is a currency that is obtained through questing, or by using a monthly allowance to purchase a limited amount per month. Lumens allow you to outright purchase myos + items, adopts and use the upgrade center.

Breeding
Joltterbugs have no gender differences, so any Jolt can breed with another. Up to 3 Jolts (2 parents, 1 'Programs List'; a donor for traits only) can participate in a breeding. Joltterbugs must be adults (regular base or custom-lined) to be bred.

• Newly adopted or Grown Joltterbugs have a 7 day cooldown before they can be bred for the first time.
• Grub/Newborn Joltterbugs have a 7 day cooldown before they can be grown ontop of the above
• You are allowed to 'stud' your joltterbugs for breedings, including ones you are not participating in. You can only request species currency (lumens, scrap or tokens) OR a result from the breeding as a form of payment if you choose

The DIY nursery allows users to request nursery rolls, which they can then create. Any user participating in the species can request/design one.

• You are allowed one active diy nursery ticket as the poster/artist at any given time. This does not apply to breedings you are not participating in (Designing someone else's batch without receiving a grub, studding out your Joltterbug for others)
• You can only post a ticket once per month, from 12 AM at CS rollover on the first, to 11:00 PM at CS rollover at the end of the month
• Only breeding items can be used during the creation of a diy nursery batch. SD cards can only be applied after the batch is made

Color Change - Allows for seperate colored refs, but edits cannot change between refs (6 forms max)
Antenna Shape - Allows uniquely shaped antennas
Storage Gel (Allows for transparent parts and cannot add new areas to the body, which are filled with a thick gel that stores excess energy. These can have objects inside/have patterns. Can be anywhere from 5%-80% transparent, but needs at least a bit of color to the gel)
Bug Genesplice (any land dwelling bug/insect splice, does NOT include Charge Plug or Wing based edits)

Gold Upgrade: These are some AAA worthy programs! Requires a Golden SD to use

Cracked Screens (Large Cracks/ small chips on the screen. cannot have giant/many missing sections)
Detached Parts - Monitors, Limbs or Antennas etc not attatched to the body. Requires an upgrade to affect more than one type of part (ex, having 2 feet detached would be fine, but having a foot and the antennas detatched would need an upgrade)
Bug Wings - Wings based on any flying insect, real or fictional (within reason)
Monitor Shape - Can be any object that is reflective in some way.
Multiple Monitors - Adds 1 monitor per upgrade, 3 max monitors. Requires an extra upgrade to have them be different shapes
Multi Screen - Adds additional screens across the body. Requires Monitor Shape for screen that are NOT digital themed (screens, popups, windows etc)
Major tail edits (can be longer than the torso + be the Charge Plug. Must be an actual tail, not an object)
SuperCharged - Allows for sparks/particles around and on the entire body.
Damaged Limbs - Missing parts of all of the front/back legs or raptorials
Major gene splicing - Any species can be used, up to 60% of the body. Requires an additional upgrade for multiple species

Holo Upgrade: Woah, I thought these programs got wiped off the servers! Requires a token-loaded Crystal Drive/SD, from an event, or get your hands on an elusive Holo Drive!

Plant Growth
ChargeBug - A Charge Plug in the shape of an insects tail
DVD Disk- Animated Features on display or body
Off-Body Storage: Storage Goo extending off the body in some way. Requires Detached Parts for floating storage goo
Tail mouth - A fluffy/fuzzy tail "head". Cannot have eyes, or replace the Charge Plug

Broken Screens (large bits of the screen removed)
Creature/Animal head (Includes cyborg/mechanical versions of animals)

Here's a simple breakdown on how myos + traits work because things are slightly different!

You cannot add edits items to a myo while creating them!
The only way for traits to be added, is by using a Driver with edits to create a new Joltterbug, using an item on an existing Joltterbug OR by using an SD upgrade to add programs to a driver or an existing Joltterbug. the way you do the latter, is by upgrading!

UPGRADING
after obtaining the sd upgrades you want, you bring them over to Lumi's Little Corner, alongside your driver/Jolt! After they check everything is in order, the traits will be added!

Ex; Your Jolt's bronze trait is currently Doodify and you want to add a minor tail program to it.

Some programs can be upgraded, allowing for larger expression or additional copies of the trait. These require a Crystal SD, along with Lumens and occasionally items to complete

Ex; Your Jolt has a minor tail program, and you want a second minor tail. You'd need 1 SD, XX Lumens and 10 bronze scrap for the upgrade.

REPROGRAMING
Sometimes you start losing connection to an adopt/myo you have, or there's something about the design you've wanted to tweak a little. That's where the reprogramming center comes in! All you need is a crystal SD and to meet the specified requirements to get started. Desktop and Program tweaks cannot be used in place of a Fresh Install. Any trying to bypass like this will be denied.

Desktop Tweak
This is intended for changing the colours/markings of a design
A Desktop tweak allows you to make alterations to the palette of your Joltterbug, or minor changes/removal of their markings. Any Jolt going for a Desktop tweak must meet the following criteria, unless expressly approved by the owner beforehand:

• Cannot have major palette changes if bred
• Nursery obtained Jolts must have colors similar to parents/siblings
• Must be unbred for marking and color changes

Program Tweak
This is intended for changing the edits of a design
A Program tweak allows you to alter or change the programs of a Jolt. The amount and tier of programs cannot change with this. Any Jolt going for a Program tweak must meet the following criteria, unless expressly approved by the owner beforehand:

• If bred, must keep the same type of program, but the style may change (Rabbit Tail => Bunny Tail)
• Nursery obtained Jolts must keep the same type of program, but the style may change
• Must be unbred for marking and color changes

Fresh Install
This is intended for MYOS/CUSTOMS only
A Fresh Install allows you to remake a Jolt entirely, following the program amount originally used. Any Jolt going for a Fresh Install must meet the following criteria, and be expressly approved by the owner beforehand:

• You must be the original owner of the design
• If bred, this Jolt must use the same programs as the original, but can be used differently (EX; A bird genesplice can become a cat genesplice)
