Hello... My name's Pixie Storyteller and I enjoy exploring the mythological areas of the world of Imagination. Often while I'm off on an adventure, I discover strange creatures quite by accident. Usually I keep them a secret, sometimes I show them off, but for the first time I thought I'd try giving some away.

While on a trip through the murky swamps of Doubting County, I came across a strange beast, never before discovered, which I call the Aqueous Draconas, or Dracone for short.

Dracones are shy, sweet beasts, a little larger than a horse when full grown, that live around swamps. They are quite obviously related to the dragon family but are not often found with wings or horns; instead, a common dracone will have a spiny sort of sail along its back. Also, they are different from dragons in that their skin is more amphibious. If frightened (which is easy to do since they're so shy) they will jump into the nearest pond for protection, submerging completely in order to hide.

I still think the original intro is cute and accurate enough, so I'm keeping it with the exception of a couple edits. ^^

Hi! I've recently changed to FateStoryteller, but otherwise it's still me. ^^ I've wanted to redo the original Dracones for a very long time and here, at last, is the updated version. Aqueous Draconas are very dear to me because they were the first closed species I created and did art for. I don't know if they'll ever become a fully-fledged adopt, but they've been a fun project regardless and I welcome you to enjoy them too if you'd like. ^v^

General Rules

- All CS Rules apply, of course.
- Please be patient and do not harass staff or other dracone owners or community members.
- Feel free to adopt as many dracones as you'd like, there is no limit.
- If you get this far in the rules, then post... Jk, wasn't it funny when that was such a common thing to do in rules? x3
- Not too many for now as I'm hoping this will just be a nice, chill adopt, however I retain the right to add more if necessary.


Trading & Gifting

General
In order to make a trade or gift official, the trader or gifter must fill out and post the appropriate form here first. Otherwise it will officially remain the original trader's or gifter's dracone. Exceptions may be made if the person who has traded for or was gifted the dracone can provide proper proof of the trade or gift.

As long as you've posted the form here, that trade or gift is considered official, even if, for whatever reason, it is not updated on the archive (who knows, might be busy or something, but as long as you can link to a post on the linked thread, its considered official due to this rule ^^).

You may trade or gift on or off-site and with both dracone owners and non-owners. However, if that person wishes to officially trade or gift that dracone, they'll have to fill out and post the appropriate form on the correct thread (exceptions also possible, similar to the previous rule).

Trading specific
Unless you've given payment for your dracone (ex. customs, artist entry claims, etc.) you cannot offer your dracone for currency of any kind (this includes CS Pets).

If you did pay for your dracone, you may only trade for the same amount of currency you spent on that dracone (ex. your dracone is a free, main adopt but you purchased something to add a mutation or something. Now you can trade this dracone for currency equal to the amount you spent to improve the dracone).

The only exception to the above is if there is more art attached to the dracone that you've made yourself or purchased from others.

Otherwise, you may, of course, trade one dracone for another or for an adopt of another species (as long as that's allowed according to that species' own guidelines) or a standalone adopt.

In the case of trading one dracone for another, both participants must post separate forms. Until that is done, the trade is not considered official.

Updates

In order not to clutter up this section, I'm posting more detailed updates in this thread. I'll still keep the most recent, concise updates here, though. ^^

- Mini FCFS event completed, yay! Thanks to everyone who's participated. ^^
- Created a stamp which is now available in the Staff & Affiliates post. (You can also edit in your own dracone if you'd like)
- Currently updating dracone pages so that owners can now create transparent versions of their dracones if they wish to.
- Hoping to soon create a discussion/'fan-club' thread so owners and non-owners have a place to chat and offer opinions.
- Getting started with prepping for the upcoming Spring Event in mid to late April.

Traits

Go here if you'd like a list of consistent anatomical traits in most dracones. Bonus saddle concept options included.
Dracones come in a variety of colors and patterns, often not entirely making sense considering their environment and desire to blend in and disappear. Luckily for them, they seem to have a magic of their own which they use to hide when they wish to no matter what colors they're wearing.
Their eyes also seem quite varied, sometimes even randomly having different shaped pupils or the scelera missing. You never know what you'll get until you run into one.
However, they come in more limited variations in regards to mutations. These are what really determine the rarity of the dracones you come across.

Mutation Rarities
Going old school and simple with these. Based on the original dracone rarity system with some tweaks.
Click on the 'x' next to each mutation to see an example.

Non-Rarity

Bio-luminescence/glow (x)
Please note: Bio-luminescence/glow can come in many forms. The whole dracone can glow, only certain marks, just the spine or the eyes, etc. Its quite varied and random. ^^'

-Custom mutations include custom lines for Uncommon - Very Rare mutations with some special additions as well as unique mutations-
--This does not include editing a mutation to make it fit better with other mutations--
--In the case of a custom Uncommon - Very Rare mutation, the rarity will be labelled as: '(Uncommon/Rare/Very Rare) - Special'--
-In the case of a unique mutation, their rarity will just be labelled as 'Special'-
--I retain the right to add mutations to the rarity list over time and if I do and the once unique mutation falls under the newly added one, the rarity will change to reflect that--

Artist Rules

[Edited 16/01/25] You cannot sell a dracone. You may make them a FCFS adopt, raffle or hold a competition for them.

Guest Artists may make up to 3 main adopts
Guest Artists must make 3 main adopts in order to earn a rare MYO

Permanent Artists may make as many main adopts as they like
Permanent Artists may make event adopts if they would like
Permanent Artists may write to me in pms about being a custom artist
Permanent Artists must make 3 main adopts in order to earn a rare MYO
After 6 main adopts, a Permanent Artist earns a very rare MYO
After 9 main adopts, a Permanent Artist may have a special MYO or a very rare MYO
Every 3 adopts after this the Artist may claim an MYO of their choice
[Added 17.01.25] After 9 main adopts have been made, Permanent Artists may pm me to be a nursery artist.

Guest Artists and Permanent Artists may make an egg and dracoling stage for their main adopts but it is not required
[Edited 16.01.25] However, if you do then you must make all relevant stages before posting the initial stage
When revealing a new stage you must edit the image, do not color it in
[Edited 17.01.25] After revealing a new stage, please include a screenshot of the previous stage in the main post in a manner similar to this adopt
Each stage is to be revealed about 24 hours after the previous stage was revealed
[Edited 17.01.25] If creating an egg stage, you may only color the lines, shade/shine, and hint color and you may not edit otherwise. You may duplicate the tint color to make it more prominent, though. They're supposed to be pretty consistent. ^^

[Edited 17.01.25] Guest Artists and Permanent Artists must use a post format similar to this dracone for the main adopts they create.

And that's it for now but I retain the right to add or edit the rules in the future as needed.
