They could be together if he completed his tasks, that is what her father said.

"One day, I will give you the greatest gift I can, my heart, eternally yours," he had told her.

Determined and strengthened by his love, Bayani set off to prove his worth, to complete the tasks set before him so he might be reunited with his love, despite her family not thinking he was good enough.
But the tasks were hard, brutal even. No matter how many he completed her father always seemed to come up with more, each worse than the last. Criminal even.

Everything in him told Bayani that what he was doing was wrong, but he just couldn't bear to give up. It was all for her. But dark deeds take their toll, there is a cost to pay.

You see, to complete his tasks, Bayani had to harden his heart. And by the time her father was satisfied and he could return to her, Bayani felt he had no heart left to give. He had lost his heart, himself, somewhere along the way. He didn't even feel worthy to return to her.
He had promised her eternal love, his heart forever, but how could he give her something that had withered away so there was scarcely anything left?

She tried, she tried so hard to show him he could love still, that they could make it work. But Bayani was too ashamed, too guilty over what he had done.

Bayani believed his heart was gone, shadowed beyond repair, but despite that he still felt it break as he made the decision to leave her, knowing he might never love again. How could he, when his heart was gone?

“I have seem to lost my brain, can you help me find it?”

That was a odd question but a question that had been asked ever since Casanova has arrived to be with the Kralot’s. But it seems in fact he has lost his brain. Nobody really knew what had happened to him but all they knew was that he would get bad nightmares at night screaming out for a lioness named marmalade. They tried to figure out why but Casanova would return to his normal chipper and inquisitive self.

It wasn’t till a lioness named Dex came over bearing books curled up beside him, that he forgot to ask where is his brain. He was simply puzzled by the leaflets of paper bound by oak and cobwebs with delicate etchings.

“W-what are those?” Casanova asked with a few twitches of his ear.

“Books and the greatest gift you can receive dear Casanova is knowledge.” She said with a pure as some cubs tumbled over to them and Casanova caught them with his big paws.

“A-am I even smart enough, I don’t have a brain. How can I receive knowledge then?” Casanova said nimbly shaking his head as tears welled up into his eyes.

“Casanova, you may think you have lost your brain. But you still have it. Your are one of the smartest lions I have met and you can receive knowledge in any way. I thought you’d enjoy these books.” Dex said nuzzling the den father.

“O-ok.” He said before nuzzling her back.The greatest gift that day wasn’t the knowledge or him finding his brain, was him being accepted for his mental health that was caused due to a horrible accident.

Not many would really consider it a gift.

But from Estelle's standpoint, she was considering it one.

The male who lay beside her was the very same male that had taken everything away from her. He was part of a pride that had taken over and destroyed her very own. The group, itself, was ruthless and vile, and she wasn't really like that. She could not fit into the crowd and that only made her more susceptible to being noticed and sought out, something that her ruler was not partial to.

He always seemed to target her out of all of his other peers. Life was hard then...

Eventually the rebellion happened and he was left alone, beaten and bruised by the very creatures of whom he had once called friends. By the time they were done with him, he could barely stand up.

They left him there, all alone, to die or... just do whatever he'd do. She would have left, too, but... seeing him there. Part of her told her to leave, but a bigger part told her to stay.

She was the only one who did.

She tended to his wounds and proceeded to take care of his needs. One day he asked her, "What have I ever done to you to deserve this?"

"You did nothing to deserve it," she replied. "In fact, you deserve the exact opposite... But this is a gift to you."

He chuckled at that. "What sort of gift is this, then?"

"It's called mercy."

"I would've thought you'd have forgotten about something like that."

"I did once... but you did, too."

"...You're not wrong."

She glanced to him then, out of the corner or her eye, and smiled.

Ulisses’s had forgotten again. They bang their head on the ground, mentally scolding themselves as a couple of pridemates look on in mild confusion. Yet this is an almost weekly occurrence at this stage, Ulisesse’s makes something for his crush, leaves it behind, forgets to finish it or uses the materials for another gift.

He had made a flute, mistaken it for a branch and tossed it to the fire.

He created a drum, and left it at an old camp ground.

He started making a lute, but used the strings to tie up his gear.

He even started to make before a mixing bowl before remembering his future love didn't like cooking. (Plus perhaps a heart shaped bowl was a little too forward)

They had to get started on a new gift right away. And this time they would not forget.

Ulisses’s stood, preparing to run off on another week-long quest of creating a perfect gift, when a voice stopped them.

“Why don’t you just talk to her?”

Ulisses froze. Without a gift?

“I-, But I forgot a gift”

“You don’t need one silly. The only gift she needs is for you to actually talk to her instead of running off to go make trinkets.” Ulisses spluttered in disbelief as the other lion just looked smug.

“They aren’t trinkets! They are very important.. Things!” Ulisses insisted, a little hurt. But the other lion just sighed.

“Just give it a go, I’m sure your company will be a gift enough.”
