    Main thread
To adopt you must either have a founder and be level 1. Or, you can adopt this one as your founder!

for this cat, you can pick the color you'd like their eyes to be!
to enter, create a story tied to their eye color or something that tells the meaning behind it. lots of creative freedom with this one but keep it under 450 words! ends july 16th at 10 pm est.

prompt: Bright blue eyes shone back from the reflection of the water, small tears clouding the reflection of oneself further than the murky water's usual habit to obscure.
A sniffle sent a few of those strays droplets down into the water, casting ripples to flow out until they were nothing more. These small details resonated gently with StoneKit's very being, more seemingly meaningful than anything as the world seemed to move by quickly and everything became cause for an overwhelmed reaction, the reflection was safe.
Still, life had to move on and StoneKit was torn from her reflection turning to face the world for all its raw bright muchness. It was bright, the middle of spring and she was young and new. Blue eyes reflected the sky between the trees, so far off and distant it seemed impossible to ever achieve.
    She was lost.

But time passes and so does the seasons.
She was older, more confident in the way she waltzed the world- yes she waltzed the world now. Few things were capable of slowing her down and in a way, the kit of the past was a distant memory. The world wasn't scary to her anymore, it was an open invitation, a daring to do more and go further. She had conquered her demons and now was more than she'd ever been before.

The trees obscured the sky blue with bright brilliant orange of golden leaves. Keeping hidden, keeping sheltered, keeping safe and yet, withstanding the cold-hearted world.

Walking through the territory, a 'paw amongst larger, wiser cats the ripple in the distance caught her attention. She broke off from the group, not hiding as she had once been but alert and calm. She gazed down into the water below.

Bright orange eyes shone back from the reflection of the water, she had grown so much. [307]

Would you possibly be willing to extend this a few more days? I'd love to enter, but I'm waiting to get my founder first. I totally understand if this is not possible, I just thought I'd ask :3 Thank you!

cat name: Tsuchi
link to thread: Hawker's Isle
eye color: #4B2300
prompt:

Brown is the color of the earth. It's the color of safety, security, and comfort. Tsuchi's pelt grey like stone and her eyes are brown like the dirt. She blends in seamlessly in her wild, mountain home. It's fitting, isn't it?

"Why brown?" some cats ask. Tsuchi doesn't really know the answer. She looks down at the rich, dark soil beneath her paws and presses down on it. It rained yesterday and the soil is still moist. The feeling is oddly soothing and she smiles. Brown represents comfort.

Not only dirt, but trees are also brown. Most trees are, at least. Tsuchi recalls her first time climbing a tree. She had been scared of heights back then. It was so high up, and she had been scared of falling down. But then, she noticed that oak trees were brown. Dark brown, light brown. She took a deep breath and climbed, suddenly feeling secure. Brown represents security.

And then there was the battle. It was horrible. Her entire family was massacred in the fight, multiple factions fighting it all out in her home. Her home, a home that no longer existed, littered with dead bodies and droplets of crimson blood. Everything was red and blue and black, even the sunset screamed wrong and danger. Tsuchi couldn't stand it. So, she looked down. Lifting up her paws, she saw soil. Brown soil. Not bloodied red, or soaked with tears. Dry brown. Tsuchi took a deep breath, looked forwards, and walked away, keeping her eyes on the various shades of brown. Brown soil, brown trees. A grazing brown deer, oblivious to the disaster that had occurred mere minutes ago. Brown was the only color that the grey tabby could stand at the moment. Brown represented stability. She needed it.

prompt: "Such an unnatural color, befitting for an unnatural beauty, don't you agree?"
Kestrelstar eyed the potentially deranged she cat cautiously, straining against his binds slightly to get a better look at her in this dark room. "...Are you talking about yourself, or..."

The she cat whirled around with a dangerous snarl on her face, her light magenta eyes glowing brightly amidst the blackness of their surroundings. Kestralstar gave a totally manly squeak as she got face to face with him, tilting the tom's head up with a clawed paw. "Of course I'm talking about myself, you idiot," she snapped. "My eyes - do you not fear them?"
"I don't see any reason to."

Ashwhisper blinked as the tom replied coolly, her menacing demeanor faltering for a moment. "What game are you playing at?" she growled, quirking a brow warily.
"No games, no cakes here," Kestralstar shrugged as best he could, glancing over his surroundings as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. "Nice place you got here. How long have you been here?"

"I've lived here my - stop changing the subject!" Ashwhisper barked, glaring daggers at him. "You come into my territory, unannounced, uninvited, unwanted - you challenge my authority when clearly you have no power over me... You either must be incredibly cocky or insanely stupid."
"I've been told it could be both," Kestrelstar admitted. "Now, are you going to try to kill me, or are we going to keep this up for another however many minutes? I'm kinda running on a schedule here."

"Do you think this is a joke?!" Ashwhisper all but screamed at him. The tom winced at the loudness of her voice, opening one eye only to see her claws unsheathed, ready to strike, when suddenly-
"Only one cat gets to rip that idiot to shreds and that's me."

Ashwhisper whirled around to see an orange and white ghost tabby with green eyes leaning against a table, twirling a knife in her paw. "Herringclaw! Nice to see you've finally decided to show up," she heard Kestrelstar pipe up behind her.
"Shut it, Kestrelstar," the newcomer snarled, strutting over to Ashwhisper and pressing the blade to her throat. "You do have such pretty eyes, Miss. Would be a shame to lose 'em, yeah?"

Too stunned to move, the she cat just stared in disbelief. "H-how... How did you find me? Who are you?"
"Tut, tut. Don't think you're the one to be asking questions here, darling," Herringclaw smirked. "Now, it takes a lot to be able to kidnap the captain of GhoulClan in broad daylight. What say you join our ranks?" Just as Ashwhisper was about to speak, Herringclaw added quickly, "Or you could lose your eyes. Your choice."

    Eye color: #818A9C
    Prompt:
    Blind.
No, that can't be true. It was but a lie; a fabrication of reality. She'd just been born, a mere kit -- how could they know now? How could anyone know now? It would make sense, perhaps, but... No.
Blind? A thin layer of clouds appeared over the iris, completely obscuring the pupil. A small, wet nose takes in the smell of the air, unaware of the wide world around her. Her parents, frantic, questioning just how their innocent darling had been plagued with this curse.
"There has to be something you can do," a husky, masculine voice snapped, rearing his thick head towards a third cat. Judging by the wraps of herbs around their neck, they must be the healer of the group.
"I'm sorry," a quiet, more solemn voice replied, staring blankly at the floor. The male cat turned to his mate, who had began crying in silence.
Almost in tandem, the small kit rolled about on the grassy floor, searching for her mother. To her dismay, she could not find her. This was only the beginning.
    Blind.
As she grew older, her vision only worsened. The healer had confided in her, finally, and -- quite disappointingly -- admitted to her of her condition. The next wave of fear and rage flowed through her veins. Though she became quite vocal in her request to become a hunter for the group, her fellow cats shushed her, worrying that she would get hurt. She became angry -- angry at herself, but angry mostly at the deities above. Her whole life should have been normal -- she should have been normal... But, no.
    Blind.
It wasn't until one day that her perspective changed. A fire had ravaged the camp, unexpectedly, by the wicked force of a roaring bolt of lightning. Spreading faster than water on the bay, unrelenting crimson flamed licked at the bristled trees. Mewls and screams echoed throughout the whole forest, but, quite luckily -- due to the small size of their group -- everyone emerged unscathed. Why, you may ask?
This she-cat -- Aspen's -- senses had grown stronger and stronger as she grew older. Although she still couldn't see, her sense of smell and sound became unparalleled. Perhaps it was just by the power of will -- she wanted to prove herself and the stars above wrong. She was strong.
On the day of the fire, she had smelled it first. The ashes and soot scorched her nostrils, forcing a sickness deep within her. She yelled of the danger, successfully alerting her family and escorting them to safety. Stress was high, but, her senses saved everyone that day.
    Blind? No.
    Perceptive.
