Gosh, I love the idea of dragons soaring through clouds.

Shadow Flitz (Singular; Shadow Flit) are a long bodies species that have long since lost their hind legs, tail, and eyes to the power of the shadow and have replaced them with mold-able wispy appendages. these large, friendly beasts have been recently tamed to be ridden by humans and anthros alike. They have large, wide front paws, long pointed ears, and short, smooth fur. They can be naturally found in dark caves, wetlands, or thick forests. however have also been spotted in pastures while hunting. They are carnivores- meaning they are only meant to eat meat and they often prey on birds, deer, rodents, and bats.

All who knew Draco believed him to be the fiercest and bravest Flit in the forest. He'd fought off countless terrible creatures that would've destroyed their homes, with a strength impossible for a creature as small as him to possess. He was well-respected among the community for being so kind and generous, too.
The source of Draco's power was no secret. He had been discovered as a newborn in an abandoned dragon's nest by a foraging party, and taken in by one of their number. The most astonishing thing about him was his fur – or rather, the lack of it. He was instead covered in smooth scales. That and the fact that he'd been found lying in a large eggshell pointed to the only possible explanation: this Flit was not just a Flit, but a dragon-cross-flit hybrid. They named him aptly – Draco.
Now grown, Draco bears the incredible strength and speed of his kind, and uses them to help defend others. He has many battle-scars to prove it, the most memorable of which being the nick in his ear. He had fought the hugest dragon he'd ever seen, a great red beast whose size threatened to block out the sky, and walked away victorious with only that as proof.

the first ray of light rose to greet the moon shining upon it's charcoal surface, the moon writhed under the new dawn's light and lashed out at the surprised dawn. With an upheaval of violence the two clashed with snarls that shook the ground and split it in two, the mighty beasts were unaware while they toyed with one another that a young one had been born, born of the shadows of the moon and the light of the sun out of both of their grace and beauty. This young creature however was tainted, the once pure essence of beauty and light struggled with the appearance of darkness and though the light took control of the young's body the shadows left a permanent mark. an ear torn and tainted showing the disapproval of the moon itself for this young beast represented the balance between the light and the darkness and every day the sun and moon would chase each other across the sky never catching one another and forever to hold their grudges.

as the young creature grew older with no mother to call it's own, the light and dark grew fond of it, for it could live in both light and darkness. The light began to call it kula for the gift it truly was. the shadows adopted this name with grudging mumbles but did nothing to get the little creature to change it's name. as the days and nights went on and the light grew more wary of the dark the light granted the young creature a gift, touching noses with kula it created the dragons, born with fiery breath and golden hearts she granted kula this. Fluttering dragons along her shoulder slowly emerged on her fur, and though kula was frightened she was comforted by their presence. And every night when the sun set, the dragons would glow and those small dragons would jump right off her fur and exist quite suddenly in the dark. They became friends to kula and every night when the sun set the glowing dragons would emerge and play with kula granting her warmth and joy granting her wings through the darkness. Though the night became jealous of this it could no longer touch the young creature, for light was dangerous to the dark and once the sun rose each morning the dragons would return to rest on the markings along her shoulder and neck until the next night when they would come out once more and though there were parts of the young creature that were shadow the light never harmed them. For they were part light as well as shadow and had learned to co-exist with one another. The blood of both shadow and light run through kula's veins granting her immortality.

as time went on the place were kula lived slowly came to be called earth, creatures began to rise from the ground, the ones that belonged awake and well in the light came to be called diurnal and the ones that belonged in the night came to be known was nocturnal, kula was neither for she could sleep in the heat of the day and be awake all night or sleep through the night to be awake all day. As the troubles and dangers of the world began to emerge, the light grew anxious for kula and granted kula her final wish. dragons. Kula wanted real dragons, and though there was no mistaking that the dragons that emerged at night were real, they were still hers. kula wanted dragons who could be free, to soar and fly through the cloudy skies. And as these dragons came to be kula became friends with any and all of them. Her connection with her glowing dragons and the ability to outlive them all she grew to be favored by the fire breathing beasts and grew a connection with them as well. They sheltered her and in turn she protected them from the darkness lurking around every corner.
