What have they learned about themselves this year? (500 words): This year, Michael learned something that completely changed his life. Ever since he was a kit, as long as he can remember, he’s seen colors associated with sounds. It’s like a second nature to him, he’s never known anything else. A door slamming triggers purple squares dancing across his vision, a dog barking triggers bright orange sparks.

What have they learned about themselves this year? (500 words); Word count: 370/500
Juro worked hard constantly in all aspects of his life, he would work especially hard when it came to the needs and desires of others around him. He would even put off his own needs and desires to focus on others and while he did enjoy helping others he would work to the point of mental and emotional exhaustion. He did this for most of his life until he found himself hating even having to leave his home; until he found himself beginning to hate having to interact with others. This concerned him of course but he put it off, "maybe this is just part of being an adult, maybe this is just a part of working life" he thought and he continued on. That was, he continued on until a friend of his asked him what was wrong, they had noticed a change in his usual demeanor, and as he went to answer with his usual "everything is fine" he instead found himself pouring out his heart. He went on and on about how he tried so hard in everything and it was so tiring and it never seemed to be enough and how he was starting to hate his job and his clients and his friends. His friend sat quietly letting him vent and at the end they wrapped their arms around him and said simply "You are enough, what you do is enough." Juro had heard this before of course, even said it to others who seemed to be struggling, but as his friend listened to him vent and then gave him a comforting hug the statement seemed to click in a way it hadn't before. Perhaps that was it, he wasn't just tired because he simply was working too hard, he was tired because he was working too hard for everyone else and not enough for himself. So with some help from his friend he planned time off of work and planned a vacation, he was going to take time out for himself to take care of his own needs and desires. In the end, he learned that he didn't need to work quite so hard all the time, his work was enough, he was enough.
