So I've just had musicals(andvocaloidbutshush) on the brain for about two months now so i though I'd finally make something based on those things. Brownie points to whoever can tell me who this one is and what musical it's from!

For the contest, I would like to hear a song from a musical and a short explination/story telling me how/why this song relates to this viscet. The only limit I have is to not show me any Hamilton songs. I love Hamilton as much as the next guy, but I've heard it so many times it gets annoying. I'd also like to know, what's on this guy's mind with that look?

alistair knows he's smart. he knows he can trick others, that he can swindle them from their coin. he knows that his alchemic gaffs will work, making other believe they're the real things. he's confident and persuasive, and knows how to convince others that he knows what he's talking about. he makes income by selling "miracle" products, and i feel like the song kinda has that vibe to it!

He wasn't always this way, wasn't always a swindler and trickster that is infamous throughout the land. He was once small, once a nobody. He used to be an eccentric student, creative, and eyes full of life and ideas. After he'd been expelled from school, he decided that he'd show them all. He'd show them that he was capable of doing everything, and he became self-taught from that moment forward. He'd prove them all fools for getting rid of him, and he'd do anything it took. He knew his ideas weren't crazy, nor were they idiotic. He knew that he could do this. It'd only take a few things, practice, and determination.

He resorted to thievery for a long time, his stage and persona designed from found or stolen objects. The only exception was the coat that he still wears. A kind samaritan had noticed his skinny frame on the street in the dead of winter. He never got their name, but he got a warm meal and an equally warm coat. The coat is his only reminder that others can be nice.



Rain gently pitter-pattered on the window. He smiled softly to himself, bright blue eyes glancing outside. He padded over to the bookshelf, took his favorite book, and set it down on the makeshift table by the window. The viscet headed back to the kitchen. In there, he found a cup, his favorite tea, and a tea kettle. He filled the kettle with water, and turned the stove on. He prepped the cup, tea and sugar already in there. He'd add milk into it later. The green form made its way back into the living room, opening up the book. His eyes flickered over the words on the page, reading the book with a faint smile. The shrill whistle of the kettle awoke him. He hurriedly went to the kitchen, turned the stove off, and poured himself some water into his cup. He let the tea steep, before he got rid of the tea bag. He was almost out of the kitchen before he remembered about the milk. Ah, well, he was sure he didn't have much. He made a mental note to get supplies in the next town over. He inhaled the aroma of the tea, smile widening. He took his seat at the worn chair beside the table with the book, and he sighed. It was a sigh of comfort and happiness. He was happy to have this time to himself.

Based Off Of...
I think this viscet is based off of the musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 - specifically, the song Preparations. I've never seen the musical, nor heard music from it, but I'm going to guess that this viscet is based off of the character of Anatole.
