i'd enter for more of these kinds of comps if the criteria for forms was stated upfront, instead of when the winner is posted so it wouldn't just feel kinda like a waste of time. shrugs

Hm... I think I'll stick to making batches awhile. And super congrats to the winners, sorry to everyone who felt they wasted their time. I'll take the suggestions to think over later.

Hey guys, just posting this here.
Can't be much of a waste of time if it's just a GIF and name contest.
I mean... it's not any different than, say, a limited pseudo-FCFS or something (and in fact is most times less time consuming than that)
You're going to put like a couple minutes of time/effort into finding a gif and thinking of a name.
At least you didn't put like 20+ hours into a contest that you lost.
Griff just thought this would be an easy/fun contest (and if you had been the winner instead you would not be unhappy with the result yes?) so just be happy for the winner you guys, and have fun with these short little contests. It's just meant to be easy and fun.
If you don't like easy GIF based contests (which are always 100% opinion-based, even if the artist isn't looking for one specific thing in the gif) then just don't enter in them in the future.

Anyhow, this is a really pretty baby ^^;

I thought that this contest's idea was great, griff! c: And I would've entered if I didn't already own 14 Viscets cx

Also I must say... like almost every contest is opinion based? And there actually already have been a few similar to this and nobody said something (as I recall)... Mint for example did the birb one, that I won. She also stated when choosing the winner what she actually had been looking for in the forms (viscet based on a phoenix, song something to do with a phoenix and a yellow/orange/red as the favourite color)

I can't wait to see more batches from you, griff, be them abandoned or not ♥

just putting two cents in, I totally agree with ten and strudel. this contest was fun, short, and quick, even though I didn't enter. I love griff's abandoned batches, because the contests are always original and their designs are gorgeous. I also think its always fun having child lines for a viscet, in case you want them to be small/younger in age. so overall, I think these competitions are so enjoyable, plus it gives people who don't have 20+ hours or a computer a chance.

that being said, congrats xel! I absolutely love that name you picked, its so original (3 and congrats on the ru pika, I can't wait to see him/her!

I was just thinking that we shouldn't do water, cause its sp generic and stereotyped for blue. If, next time, the general idea, like "water" or "animals" was posted, that would make it a lot more interesting than to just guess what you had in mind.

But all in all, that was fun, looking at gifs.

She's beautiful, btw.
