He didn't have friends, the kind who asked how he was and why he looked that way. He didn't have friends who smiled brightly when he entered the room, only Kalons who kept around not to be alone. It was summer time when he met her, an elegant creator of color and radiance. He met a Kalon with white fur and peach pink markings sitting in the shadows of a willow tree. Her eyes were a deep green and he seemed to lose himself that day. They talked, laughed and shared stories while the day melted away like ice, to this day he'll never forget the experience. At sunset, he'd realized they hadn't yet exchanged names despite spending the whole day together. "Who are you?" He asked curiously, having never seen her before.
"What should I be?" She responded, lifting his paw in hers and lightly touching the trunk of the tree. "I've always wanted to be a painting, one that others admired even if they knew nothing of me." Her voice seemed to trail off track, but it had meaning he didn't quite understand.
Three days later he met her under the same willow tree with a sketch pad and pencil, something about her was different. Her eyes now seemed a sea blue, but she insisted her eyes were always this color. Lifting his paw again, she showed him how to draw gently and smoothly, tracing circles and adding lines into some animal he'd never seen before. "It's called a dolphin."
That was the last time he saw her; having few accepting friends he wondered if she was an angel sent to give him a gift. Drawing opened up a whole new world, other started paying attention and commenting on his work. He gained friends, real friends who asked him how he was doing and laughed with him. Friends who drew with him and showed him new skills; he felt happy for the first time since he met the white and pink angel.
