chantelle's favorite summer hobby;
chantelle enjoys running a lemonade / knick knack stand in the summer.
she makes fresh squeezed, refreshingly cold lemonade at home and brings
it in pitchers to a small wooden stand that she sets up at a local market,
or in a public place. her lemonade is free most days - she just enjoys making
people happy, and helping them escape from the heat.
besides home-made lemonade she also enjoys selling knick knacks - random
crafts / items that she picks up or makes. some popular trinkets she sells are dream
catchers, which she makes by using twine, doilies, real feathers, and sewing;
small wind chimes, which come in all different themes; small wooden animals
which she carves herself with a chunk of wood and a pocket knife; flower pressings,
which she makes using parchment paper, a heavy book, and freshly picked flowers
from a meadow nearby; sea shell art, which she makes by picking up shells from a beach;
and much, much more. once, she even spent a day making wooden timers, which she held
a giveaway for the next day. chantelle expresses her creativity and love for making others
happy through her knick knack stand, which she can sadly only run in the summer
because any other time of year is too cold for her; thus making it her

Maya's Mystical Summer Hobby

Maya absolutely adores fortune telling; whenever she has the time off, which is usually during the summer, she can be found running a side job of predicting the future for other Viscets. Her makeshift shop is small; it's located in a deserted trailer that was given to her by a friend. Decorations of crystals, cards, shells, and more all add to the blue colored insides of the trailer, as well as bones of birds and fishes that she found washed up on the nearby beach's shores. She never asks for much as she finds the practice and enjoyment very rewarding, especially seeing that it's just a simple hobby for her. Plus, she wants to allow all sorts of other Viscets the opportunity to have their fortune told.

Currently, Maya has a 87% accuracy rating, which is a definite improvement from when she began doing her predictions. She specializes in both future telling and love fortunes, and she hopes to be able to learn how to talk directly to spirits sometime soon. She is known for using her own personal made cards and crystal balls in her predictions; they are charming with their sea based designs. Every summer, she is able to add more cards and crystal balls to her collection. For the cards, she goes out to buy blank card stock to decorate with water colors and pens; she happily designs the imagery presented on the cards, ensuring that they have precise meanings to her when she uses them. On the other hand, for the crystal balls, Maya goes out to buy basic crystal balls and adds sea shells, feathers, coral, gems, bones, and more to enhance their designs.

Maya is able to perform her magic due to the use of her enchanted magatama that she found on the beach; finding this magical charm encouraged Maya to depend on the nearby ocean for aid in performing her predictions. She believes that the items and ideas that she collects from the sea helps improve her magical flow, especially seeing how many myths there are about the ocean being a concentrated place of magic. Whenever she is done with the items she has gathered from the shoreline (which is almost every summer when she brings in newly refurbished equipment), she will remove them from the places they have been carefully placed onto before returning them back to the waters they came from.

They are whispering to me.

If anybody ask what Thea's favorite hobby was, the chances are high that she'd say surfing. Yes, surfing is an unusual hobby for girls but that just makes it all the more fun and exciting in her mind. In all honesty, there is really nothing Thea likes more than being out on the waves. She has no fear of sharks and feels that if she did end up in an accident or died at sea, at least she'd have been happy and doing something she really loved. That's all that really matters in the end.

Thea originally learned to surf from a dear friend who also loved the ocean. He taught her how to care for the boards and even bought her one as a birthday present a few years later. He had moved away several months prior to her birthday and the gift was a way of showing that he still cared about her and wanted to encourage her hobby. Thea's parents were not as supportive but mostly because they worried for their daughter's safety. They didn't want her to get hurt and knew how dangerous the ocean could be, especially when the waves were high. It took a while for them to feel comfortable with the idea and they still don't like her going out there, but they've come to accept that it's their daughter's passion and no longer try to discourage her.

During the off season when the waves aren't suitable for surfing, Thea still likes to hang around the water. She is an excellent swimmer and always takes time to visit her fish friends before leaving to visit her relatives in Ohio. She isn't crazy about going to Ohio since she dislikes being away from the ocean for so long, but appreciates that her family waits until the off season to go on their annual trip. After all, that was the only way she would agree to go at all. Thea loves her family dearly but they just don't understand the allure she feels towards the water or the way it stirs her restless spirit. Although, she doesn't think much of anyone can really understand what it's like until they experience it for themselves.

If anyone approached Delilah about what she did over the summer, she’d probably grin and show you her range of hand-made instruments. Over the summer months, she loves to go the beach and play music for the other viscets or people there, using whatever is around. She has drums made from coconuts, a rattler made out of shells and a large leaf, and even a xylophone made from sticks and a piece of paper. She loves showing off what nature has to offer, and she teaches young kids how to make the instruments themselves, which always seems to bring a smile to their faces.

Her love for music started soon after she hatched. The egg made interesting sounds when she touched it or it hit things, and she was so intrigued by it that she began to find things all around her in the wild that could make similar noises. Upon discovering the wide range of sounds, she began to explore, hitting her tail and paws and using things around her to make the sounds of nature. Ever since then, she's grown in her knowledge of the outdoors and music, and shows it to the world whenever she can.
