I am happy you like your handsome boy, I have to say he is quite a handsome fellow :) and probably one of my best roans to date.

I was a bit worried you wouldn't like him because he's a mainly solid boy but his colors were just too awesome to hide x3

Truthfully, I secretly wanted a solid or almost solid just to have a beauty like him. XD Youre definitely a mind-reader.

I am glad it turned out to be what you wanted though.

Task 1: First meeting

Postby DarkestWerewolf » Wed Jun 15, 2016 2:50 am

First meeting

Aslan woke up to the fresh, crisp air of the Hyrulian Gypsy barn. For the past few weeks, a certain lady has been coming and going from the barn with her horses and has been interacting with him a lot. He is very questionable of her but doesn't really mind a lot of attention since he is fond of her. Little did he know that he would be headed to his knew home. He was already independent, not having to constantly rely on his parents for support is a big stepping stone to him. He felt that it has eased a burden off their shoulders. He was led out with a rope lead where he was showered and groomed. Odd. He thought. It has never happened before but nonetheless just cooperated and paid no heed. He was squeaky clean and let out to the paddocks to graze on the fresh morning grass with the other horses. After a while, the distant thundering hooves echoed around and from a distance he saw a familiar horse galloping up the road. He doesn't know the mare but he has seen her sometimes for the past few weeks. The lady have been riding different horses up to the barn.
"The trailer will be here soon but I thought I'd let Andromeda get some work out as well." The lady said as she continued to ramble on with the barn's owner and a few other stable-hands. Her horse, Andromeda was tied to the pole and was taking a drink at the trough. Aslan decided not to bother much until the lady came into the paddock and approached him.
"Hey Aslan." She cooed, stroking his mane.
Despite his young age, Aslan still stood tall, towering her, he greeted back. Honestly, despite his cool demeanour, he is quite fond of her and he admits that he has bonded with her the past few weeks. After a while, the lady headed into the barn with the owner and stable-hands to continue chatting. He continued grazing until the mare called him over.
"Hey. Aslan right? Could you come here?" She neighed.
It was the first time he was called over by her or any of her horses for that matter.
"I'm so happy to meet you! Today would be quite an exciting day for you." The mare said.
"Why?" Aslan questioned, lost at her words.
"Oh you'll see! The trailer is almost here." Andromeda said.
Aslan just kept quiet but the two started to just have small chats. Soon enough, distant rumbling of a large vehicle can be heard. All horses stopped grazing and turned their attention to the black trailer with red streaks that drove up. A man got out and unloaded the trailer. Out stepped a black Friesian with majestic mane. The owner and the lady soon came out.
"Thanks again!" The lady said to the man as the man got on the horse.
"No problem. I told you I was headed down south anyway. I'll see you around!" He said as he galloped off on his black beauty.
The owner of Hyrulian Gypsy barn stroke Aslan once more before uttering a "goodbye". The other horses around the paddock also started bidding farewell, including his parents.
"W-Where am I going??" He asked.
"Don't worry. You will love it there." His mother said.
"Take care!" His father said.
He trusts them both and smiled, getting into the trailer cooperatively. He was placed in a stall in the trailer while Andromeda was placed in another one. The engine started and they were off!

Task 2: Taking home

Postby DarkestWerewolf » Wed Jun 15, 2016 2:52 am

Taking home

The engine rumbled and the trailer started moving. Being unfamiliar with the vehicle, Aslan stumbled a bit as the trailer moved. Andromeda giggled at his reaction, earning a childish grunt from the stallion. There were small windows on the sides of the trailer where he could see outside but it is too small to poke his head out. It was a beautiful sight, one that he has never seen before and he was marvelled by it. Long fields of vegetation, animals, poultry as far as the eyes can see covers the sides of the road.
"You've never been out before?" She questioned.
"Not really." He replied, eyes still trained on the view outside.
"Take it all in, it's quite a long journey actually." She replied.
"Wait, you travelled that long?" Azlan asked.
"Not really, I was on lease for a few days at a barn that happens to be about half an hour from where you were. My owner, and your new owner decided to just pick me up and go to the barn since my lease ended today." She explained. "But where we are going, Wild's Calling Barn is quite a distance from here."
"Are there many horses there?" He asked again.
"Mm...compared to others I've been to, not really but we're pretty tightly-knit." She continued. "There's me and 7 others but don't worry, they are all nice horses."
The stallion nodded and continued to gaze out the window while Andromeda ate some food out of her feed bag. Aslan got bored after a while and he slowly started nodding off. By the time he woke up, he noticed that the sun was much higher in the sky, signalling that it was probably afternoon. The trailer just turned in and he saw a horses out in the paddock slowly start stop what they were doing and observe the vehicle.
"We're here. Your new home." Andromeda said.
The doors opened and the lady came in.
"Alright, we'll get Andromeda out first." She said as she led the mare out and into the paddock to join the others.
Soon after, he was led out by his rope lead. He stepped out of the trailer and saw the new horses, his new barn mates. Golden brown eyes trained on each horse while they also looked back at him.
"Nice job Aslan. Everything went smoothly. We'll get you settled in and soon you'll be making friends." The lady smiled as she offered the stallion an apple.
Aslan happily accepted the red fruit and nickered the lady.
"Don't worry, Aslan. You'll love it here. It is different than what you're used to at Hyrulian Gypsy Barn but we have our own specialty and all that as well." She said as she hugged the stallion once more before leaving.
"Rhiannon." Andromeda said, approaching him.
"What...?" Aslan asked, confused.
"Rhiannon." She repeated once more. "It's her name."
Aslan nodded as she saw his new owner, Rhiannon help carry some hay bales into the barn. He's confident he'll like it here. It might need time to get used to but he will love it.

Task 3: Settling in and making friends

Postby DarkestWerewolf » Wed Jun 15, 2016 2:53 am

Settling in and making friends

It's been only a week and Aslan has already made some friends aside from Andromeda. Because of his quiet nature, he decided to just go with the flow. Aslan would be greeted by the friendly voice of Rhiannon every morning as she brings in either an apple or carrot for him. He did notice that she pays extra care and attention to him as compared to the other horses but he knew it was because he was still new and settling in. He still wasn't halter-broken yet so she would put on just a rope loosely around his neck and bring him around. Each day, he would see a new place around the barn and he would just be marvelled at how things work. Rhiannon would eventually let Aslan into the paddock with the other horses after a walk around the barn and sure enough, he was already making friends and talking to Kai and Thea. The place was rather quiet today and there were lesser horses. Thea explained that some days, some have competitions or other matters. As she ended what she said, a trailer pulled up and out stepped Arrow with a proud smirk.
"And there's Arrow with yet another ribbon." Thea chuckled.
"He'll go on and on about it for days..." Kai muttered as the stallion approached them.
"You wouldn't believe what happened today." Arrow said as he approached the others.
Arrow quickly noticed the new stallion and introduced himself. For the afternoon, the three listened to his story. Aslan listened intently, taking in every bit of Arrow's tales during his competitions. Sure Arrow could be a little arrogant but it was bearable. Aslan decided to take a walk around the stable and he encountered Athlai, Tigre and Ambrosine. They greeted him and they talked for a while before Aslan decided to exit himself from their conversation. He bumped into Andromeda and her cousin Upendi as they walked out of the stalls.
"Oh hey! Where have you been?" Andromeda asked.
"I was with them for a while." Aslan said as he turned towards the three who were slowly walking off while still talking.
"The three brains." Upendi snickered.
Aslan gave a confused look.
"They're usually together because they always have a lot of debates amongst each other and due to the fact that they're also the smartest among us. The one with the gear marks is my dad as well." Upendi explained.
It would definitely take time to become friends with the three but Aslan was willing to try.
A few weeks passed and Aslan settled in quite well. He was getting used to the routine and how everything works. His careful observation and inferences did prove to be correct on most occasions. The stallion had also started to talk with the three brains but usually one-on-one conversations. One thing Aslan loves about his new home is the warmth and yet how competitive the horses were. Next to the paddock was the training grounds whereby horses train for either dressage or jockey. Around the barn was a dirt path, supposedly for jockey. Everytime there was training practices for jockey or dressage, Aslan would be near the fence, observing and taking in every detail for he knows that he would be a competitor that could bring home ribbons and trophies one day.

Task 4: Halter breaking

Postby DarkestWerewolf » Wed Jun 15, 2016 2:54 am

Halter breaking

It has been almost two months since Aslan first came to Wild's Calling Stables and on one particular day, Aslan experienced something new. It was a normal morning where Rhiannon would greet him and the others as she fed him an apple and groomed his mane. She led him out to the training ring and tied his rope around a post as she headed back to the stalls. After a while, she emerged with a leather halter. Aslan's ears pressed back as he saw the foreign object. He backed away as much as he could when she slowly entered the training ring. He tugged at the rope and grunted as he struggled to get free and away.
"Now now, it's not gonna hurt you. It's fine." Rhiannon cooed.
Aslan didn't really listen and continued to stepped away as far as he could from her and the halter. He was finally at his rope's end and couldn't go any further. Sure, he has seen the other horses with their own custom halters, bridles and tack and he admits it looks beautiful but he has his doubts. She placed the halter near his post and she slowly backed off while Aslan slowly inspected the halter. He sniffed it a few times and just left it alone. Rhiannon immediately complimented him and gave him a sugar cube. This little practise went on for a week. The other horses would also encourage Aslan to accept the halter but he would just give an uneasy sigh. After a week of that, Rhiannon took it a step further by letting Aslan slip his head through the halter. Everytime he cooperates and slips his head through, he gets a sugar cube.
By the end of the second week, Rhiannon noted that Aslan was actually ready to try on the halter and on the third week, she slipped it on him without any struggles whatsoever. It did felt uncomfortable at first and it was an odd feeling. After being fed a sugar cube, Rhiannon started to lead him around by the halter. Aslan reared a little because of he odd feeling but other than that, he cooperated and learned that the halter wasn't so bad after all. Everyday for the third week, Rhiannon would lead him around with the halter for him to get used to the sensation. It felt foreign and weird which will lead to Aslan rearing and not wanting to be tugged at but Rhiannon's encouragement helped him through and he did grow to be more comfortable with the halter. It wasn't rough or uncomfortable but he didn't exactly like it either. However, after a few days, Rhiannon received a package containing her custom-ordered halter specially for Aslan. When he was presented his own personal halter, he was overjoyed and it actually felt more comfortable than the leather one. He was led to the paddock with it and boy did he feel proud. Compliments showered him as well as a good job on being halter-broken. However, Tigre reminded him that it was only the start and there was still a long way for him to go in which he said that he would try his best.
