When the sun starts to set earlier, the nights bring with them a chill as frost appears over everything during the night. The crispness that comes about for every breath taken during the early morning hours before people, animals and the sun truly show up to start the day. Malady's favorite time of year is when fall starts to cool down and winter's arrival is fast approaching. Not only does the temperature drop and frost appear like a preemptive snowfall, but it brings the cool fall/winter rains. Seeing the clouds roll over the horizon and cover the sky in a thick gray full of moisture to wet the earth, it brings a certain feeling to him that he can't quite explain. When the rain falls, the smell of wet earth and concrete can't be beat, it makes him feel nostalgia mixed with a large amount of joy and the smallest amount of sadness as he remembers his youth. Nothing can quite beat the feelings he has for this specific time of year and he longs for this moment in time throughout the seasons until it is upon him again.

Mirlonsa loves winter because of the way the frozen ground feels under his paws. He loves the crackle of the frosty leaf litter and deliberately tries to stand on the biggest, most hardened leaves. Of course, this often leads to disappointment when the leaf only deflates underpaw. He also loves the sound of the snow crunching wherever he treads.
The snow also allows for activities and games which couldn't be played at any other time. Snowball fights are one of Mirlonsa's favourites. He enjoys building forts and developing strategies to take down the enemy.
Snowflakes are another aspect of winter that Mirlonsa finds fascinating. They're so small and fragile yet amazingly intricate and unique.
His very favourite thing to do during winter is build sledges and race them. He gathers all the materials he can find from wooden planks to discarded plastic that he finds lying around and binds them all together with rope which he makes sure that he has a constant supply of. Of course, he loves it when the sledge works without flaw, but it's always more exciting to get something that doesn't work first time and work on improving it. He sees it as a challenge. There have been many incidents where he has ended up tumbling down a hill with a sledge lodged in the snow further up. He’s certainly good at providing entertainment for his friends, which he loves to be able to do, being a social butterfly.
Luckily for Mirlonsa, he lives in an area which receives deep snow every winter.

their own life, as the act of kindness saved thomas from the grasping hands of death.
