since cherry blossoms and plum blossoms look alike, the name
fit.

Sheep Zodiac wrote:Gentle | Softhearted | Considerate | Attractive | Hard-working | Persistent
Indecisive| Timid | Vain | Pessimistic | Moody | Weak-willed

People born in the Year of Sheep are tender, polite, clever, and kind-hearted.
They have a special sensitivity to art and beauty and a special fondness for
quiet living. They are wise, gentle and compassionate and can cope with
business cautiously and circumspectly. In their daily life, they try to be
economical. They are willing to take good care of others, but they should
avoid pessimism and hesitation.
Mei is one of the smartest viscets in her household, and often paints
or plays her flute. She was taught at a young age to respect elders
and has a sweet personality. She can be quite shy and bleak, and
gives up easily. It takes her a while to make decisions, even if she's
in a life-or-death situation. She doesn’t speak much and rather
prefers to sit and listen.

Mei’s favourite tradition is eating chinese new year
candy. It all started at a young age when she was
two. She had her first taste of Lai See Tong (<--)
and immediately loved it. There was a drought that
year, and the family wasn’t doing so well. The candy
was said to be lucky, and that year, the country had
sufficient rain. Her grandmother called her their
lucky charm, as they were strong believers in this sort
of thing. They treated her like a shrine, giving her
everything she needed, and let her do what she wanted.
She often only wanted to eat candy and help her
parents. Every year, they’d buy a boatload of Chinese
new year candy for her and her siblings to eat. They
believe the gods were satisfied with their choice of giving
her sugar to eat. Mei does control how much she eats,
though. She doesn’t exceed more than 10 candies a day,
and that takes her and her brothers almost exactly one year
to finish the sweets, sometimes even more.

Symbolism: Eating candy during the new year represents
having a “sweet year.” It, in a chinese sweet box,
represents money and a “sweet” life.

Mei and her family lived in rural China, making a living off growing rice. They made little per year, and could barely live. The pandas living in the area, however, took pity on the family and helped. One particular panda was more attached to them. Xiaolong, or “little dragon,” was Mei’s favourite. He was born shortly after her 6th birthday and was a gift from the pandas. He was trained to carry produce and transport supplies, and he did a good job doing that. His relationship with Mei was like a boy with his dog, two best friends who always found time to play. Both grew older and Mei began going to school, so they had less time with each other. The only time they had with each other was after school when Mei had gone through long hours of chinese and math. The amount of time they had grew shorter until it was no more. Mei moved away to start her own life, and Xiaolong was left alone. He died of grief and Mei didn’t even know. Life moved slower for her after that. She constantly fell in and out of depression. Her parents and grandparents could not do anything about it. Until one of her cousins gave her a piece of candy. Mei always had a sweet tooth, and even sadness couldn’t suppress it. She cheered up immediately as her tongue touched the sugary pellet, and began her work again. From that moment on, her heart lived for the candy sold in the markets near chinese new year.

name;

Female

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
zodiac sign;
Her Chinese zodiac sing is the monkey, or
more specifically, the one who's stubborn,
easily irritated, silly, goofy, young, caring
and innocent, loving, compassionate, and
always willing to help a friend out. That's
her in a nutshell. In better detail, she is
young and innocent, called "child" and
patted on the head, still being kissed
goodnight. She's silly and goofy, like
a playful young monkey, not taking
things as seriously as she should be.
She's loving, compassionate, and
she's always willing to help out
a friend. She is cheerful and
almost always has a smile
on her face, unless she's
irritated, which is usual
because the smallest
things bother her.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
favorite tradition;
Her favorite Chinease New Year tradition
are the festive parades that travel around
the towns, preforming in streets, with the
graceful dancers and the daring acrobatics
and, of course, what's a New Year's parade
without the well-known Dragon Dance? She
loves to participate in the Dragon Dance as
the head of the dragon puppet. And against
her better judgement (if she has any!!!) she
often peeks her head out to view everything
that's going on around her and the festivities
that her family and friends have put together.
The Dragon Dance is said ward off evil and to
bring good luck, and she's scolded for messing
around with special, serious tradition. But she
doesn't want to understand - what is so serious
about a large parade and party? Can't she have
a little fun? (Oh, and she won't let me leave out
her other favorite Chinese tradition. Dumplings!)

    name;
    Chen -- means break of the day

    gender;
    female

    zodiac sign;
    Fire Rabbit
    Rabbit traits: lucky | clever | elegant | gentle | alert | kind | patient | lazy | melancholy | private
    Chen has always been viewed as an exceptionally lucky viscet; as a bright and clever child, she was always getting into trouble some way or another, but she was never seriously injured and all her mishaps ended up working out well-- something her family never ceased to remind her over and over again, warning her that someday her luck would run out and she would get badly hurt if she didn't learn how to be careful. Although Chen was mischievous in her youth, she grew up to be a gentle personality who would yield easily to others' demands, fitting her sign's traits.

    However, Chen is not very elegant, nor is she very patient. She strives to cultivate an air of unconcerned peace and contentment, but she can't seem to help getting upset at the smallest insults or annoyances and often ruins her attempt to create an elegant impression by awkwardly blurting out her thoughts to everyone or even bursting into tears when she becomes frustrated. She really wants to be seen as graceful and definitely can't be satisfied by just being well-liked or seen as friendly and nice.

    Chen's elegant side comes out in her ink paintings, which are a special talent of hers.

    favorite tradition;
    getting the red envelope money tbhhhh
    Chen's favorite Chinese New Year tradition was to help her family set up the New Year's Market that the town would establish every year for the week or so before New Year's Day. At the market, food and decorations needed for the new year would be sold. This was the one time in the year Chen got to show off her ink paintings and make money by selling them at the family stall. She also helped her siblings run the fireworks stall, which the kids always volunteered to do because they would then get a chance to sneak a few small sparklers off the cart to set off later at night when none of the adults were around to catch them at it. The market was definitely one of the most exciting parts of Lunar New Year for Chen, there are so many different things to buy with her limited pocket money and so many delicious foods to sample if she could be cute enough to win a bite from a sympathetic grandma or ten! In addition, during the days leading up to New Year's Eve, she got to stay up later than usual helping her parents make the paper lanterns that they'd hang around the market and homes. She still remains nostalgic about the annual new year's market even now that she's older and it doesn't seem as mind-blowingly amazing as it used to.

    extras;

    ---> there are no takebacks when it comes to traditional ink painting, sorry,

    writing extra:
    Chen is hoping to win the heart of Armani this valentine's day! here's a letter she's planning to send to the lucky lady.

    dear Armani,

    I've been watching you for a while now Hey, my name is Chen Hi, I was just

    Hello, I'm Yi Chen, you may have seen me around, but we have never spoken before. However, this Valentine's Day I was hoping to finally confess my secret crush on you. Have you ever heard the saying 见钟情, love at first sight? Before you, I thought love at first sight was reserved for the glorious sight of a really big cake in the bakery window. After meeting you, I'm forced to conclude that love at first sight must be when you catch sight of someone's face on the street, and even though you've never met them before, you feel something like... butterflies in your tummy, or maybe more like giant bald eagles flapping around in there!

    Forgive me, I'm not always the most eloquent of writers, but I'm always working to improve... and I don't know how else to say what I feel, because I really wish to get to know you better. When you dance... I've never had the courage to say it to your face after a performance, but I admire your gracefulness and poise so much. Your dance is like the music of Sima Xiangru, who won the heart of Zhuo Wenjun just by playing a little tune on the zither. (That was my favorite story as a child, I always did love romances, but never thought I would fall in love myself... until now, haha.) The kind of dance you do is like nothing I've ever seen before! I, too, have always harbored a secret dream to be an elegant dancer... but you look like you were born to dance, while I am just a clumsy letter-writer, so how could we ever be equal?

    All the same, even though surely you don't feel the same about me as I feel about you, I hope you'll take my admiration as a compliment just like all the other Valentine's cards a beautiful girl like yourself is sure to receive this holiday!

    Love Sincerely Yours truly
    Thanks for reading this!
    -Chen

    Armani belongs to *Shiveren*, and I used her with permission! ;v;
