Story - She shifted uncomfortably in her position, balancing on one foot-- then the other. It'd been a few days since the blaze, but she still found herself.. anxious, one could say. Then, that'd be an understatement. When the forest was taken by surprise with such a large, malicious fire-- she'd just been thankful she lived in close proximity to the lake. After the forest remained as nothing but charcoal and scarred memories, she found herself at a loss. What was she to do now? Many animals had already began to migrate-- the ones that survived, anyway-- to other places nearby or far off, away from humans who had likely caused this senseless inferno. She resented the change, of course, but it had to be done-- right? She sighed under her breath, a misty smoke cloud forming from the warmth leaving her. It was winter now, and walking all alone she still had no path-- no end to her venture. She'd tried so hard to find another home, but in the end... it all seemed useless to her. She'd passed many places, seen many things and explored all the tropical forest around her had to offer. She knew this meant she'd have to expand further-- to really change her immediate world... But that, to her, meant losing a part of herself. Then, she did lose herself in the fire-- and again in the endless travel. The paws of her feet were cold, worn and pained-- her nails worn down from the constant moving with never any cease. She shuddered at the thought, but pressed it out of her mind as she pursued forwards. She had to do this. She made her way past her known world, travelling with renewed vigor and furosity to accomplish her goal-- and in the end, she was met by something she had never seen before. A light dusting of snow had coated the ground, and bewildered-- she looked at it as if it were the strangest thing she'd ever seen. Being a tropical dweller her entire life, this new change was... exciting. She bounded ahead eagerly, skipping and sliding and scampering all over the expanse of open, snow covered land. She beamed with glee, yipping and hollering with the utmost satisfaction. If the world had surprises like this all around it, she could definitely go for more adventure! She found herself in an interesting predicament, one could say, when she found it. A nice, quiet place in the further out tropics-- where the snow fell, and strange, different plants, animals and other such beasts flourished. There she met other viscets like herself, the first she'd seen since the blaze, and she made friends to fill the hole in her chest that the fire had opened in the first place. She decided, with a smile, that she was finally home. Finally somewhere she belonged-- with new surprises and adventures to compensate for those that were lost. She knew now that she could relax, her weary feet could rest and she could truly be happy.
