The blue evening sky was covered in patches of pink, and scattered with clouds. The sun was hidden, though the air remained peacefully warm. The sides of the valley reached high into the sky, partially obscuring Viva's view. He enjoyed the silence, resting beside the river. The soothing sound of the waves rippling occasionally broke the silence; music to his ears. The grass was cold and damp beneath his pawpads from the previous morning rain, and the dew slowly soaked the bottoms of his paws. Though he had his eyes closed, Viva could hear the approaching footsteps long before the other viscet reached him. "Wow, you sitting quietly? Something's wrong." the viscet joked, poking her white head out in front of him. Viva opened his eyes with a growl. He flicked his tail impatiently. "Well Fannara, I was sitting quietly, before you appeared." Quickly, he lifted his forepaws up and pushed them against the younger viscet's side. Her eyes widened briefly, but she didn't have any time to react before she was knocked back into the water head-first. Instantly, her head bobbed above the surface with a piteous yelp. "Viva, it's cold!" she complained, gasping for air. Her wet mane clung to her head, covering her eyes and obscuring her vision. Viva watched in amused silence as Fannara flailed her paws about wildly in an attempt to get a grip on the pebble-covered riverbed. "Make room for me." he said eventually, a small grin splitting his neutral stare as he dived forward. Fannara barely moved out of the way in time. The water hit him like a rock, the chill passing over every hair of his coat. As he pulled himself above the water, he noticed Fannara climbing out. "I have no idea how you can stand water." she muttered.
