"No!" Kan screamed as he watched his only friend, a mutt named Jenna, got slammed into by an unsuspecting van. The scene was horrible, and not just how it looked. It was how Kan felt. The friend he trusted. Told secrets. She was there for him during hard times, and he was there when her owner abandoned her for a purebred. The large pit bull mix was no longer there, no longer with Kan. But Kan did not believe it. Something told him she was still alive. He was sure.
He ran over to the motionless body, sniffing the friend he once knew. She was still warm, but the normal breathing of the animal was lost. Kan nudged the blue dog, hoping her to be unconscious. As he did so, the middle-aged man who drove the van jumped out the vehicle. His large glasses only increased the look of fear and disbelief in his eyes. Pushing aside the surprised Viscet, the man began inspecting the dog. After a minute of pressing and petting, the man threw her over his shoulder, placing the dog in the van. The Viscent watched as the man drove away, leaving Kan by himself.
"Now what?" he whispered to himself. He was still young, not yet able to hunt by himself. His mother left him accidentally, and was lost during a visit at the ocean. He remembered that day, crying for help. He remembered how he met many cruel things that tried to trick him. The black and red Viscet knew better then to fall for them, but he remembered how scared he got at a yellow and white wolf who tried to lead him into the water to drown, or the human that almost lured him into a car to sell. Only one being showed him what to trust, a blue pit bull mix.
She had a presence, unlike most things found in the beach, which he could trust. Ok…I’ll just stay here until I find my mum. During that time, Jenna cared for him, always putting him in top priority.
Kan sighed as he rembered what Jenna was going to teach him today, something he can’t live without, and now hes going to have to teach himself. Its going to be hard, but will be done in Jenna’s memory.
