And the Winner is Miss. Scei, for a chilling read of a first memoryMiss. Scei wrote:Viscet Name:

My earliest memory was of the darkness; i was surrounded by cold most of the time, except when something pressed against the side of my shell, a warm body... the warmth was a safe haven, it was what i always longed for. What i always thought... was comfort.
That state stood for a prolonged period of time. but time had always passed quickly until i realized... the warmth hadn't come back in a while; i had been cold for too long. shifting in my shell i searched for any kind of warmth... nothing came to ease my discomfort. Another while passed, i had started to feel more weary, colder and colder: I felt alone.
But i thought... i thought and thought... if the warmth wouldn't come to me, why don't i just go to it? it was that easy, or was it...? i would have to come out of my shell, my protection, my barrier. I would have to go into the cold, face the source of my suffering head first...
I curved and shifted in my bubble, searching for a weak spot, a crack, a crevice, anything that at might grant my access to the outside. There was one spot, it was small, but four long, thin streaks along the outer edge of my cove. i reached for it, clawed at it, pushed and pulled, pressed and gripped until the first real crack shown through.
The first thing to mind was the ferar temperature and the bright glowing light in my face. It was almost too much, but my want for that warmth kept me going forward. breaking away at my only protection and my only source of home.
I was soon able to step out of the shell, my eyes blinking away what moisture was left on their lid. i was in a larger shell, made of dark colored hard stuff... It was colder and more solid than my original shell, but maybe it was necessary...?
Taking the first few steps was difficult but somehow i pushed forward and looked around, searching for the heat i had come so far to find, nothing... i continued walking around the large grey rigid shell my nose sniffing and my front hands searching the ground as i moved. it was all the same; grey, cold, hard, dead. I had stumbled upon other shades of color, as well as other textures, there were almost hand shaped markings in a vibrant mix of red, as well as a bulge of soft, dark colored fur... but it gave me a bad feeling, so i didn't go near it... i could see more red spots on it though.
But what really caught my eyes was the large crack in the grey shell... although... i guess hole might be a better word for it... it was a blinding white color, like my first shell and most of my fur, but smaller white spots were coming from it. something called me to the cold winds coming from the crack... or something pushed me from the grey shell.... but i had to move forward.
And I (mostly) patiently waited until my first viscet adopt was over. So here's a new one!

I'm looking for a sort of short story memory, nothing over 600 words, but something that gives a bit of insight into the character. It can be a sweet, happy, sad, scary or whatever memory. It can even be a memory from when it was younger. Any memory is fine, I just want to see your creativity!
And prettying up is allowed, have at it! I think it makes it more fun/appealing to look at!
End date will be the 18th, so try to get those forms in!
(I really just don't like long competitions, but let me know what you think and if you need an extension just ask)
As always, good luck to everyone!

Viscet Name: Kara
Viscet Gender: Female
A Memory: (This is from when she was younger) Kara sighs contentedly as the sun's rays warms her back. She takes another step, the leaves crackle under her feet. The oak and birch trees around her are known well. She reaches up and claws the bark on the nearest tree. She notices that the bark is shaped oddly. A member of her tribe didn't claw this. She hears a muffled laugh from behind.
"Soren!" She scolds the young Viscet. Soren lowers his head apologetically. "Oh, it's okay." She teases.
Suddenly, a shuffle sounds from behind them. She turns around sharply, seeing a large brown bear, staring right at her. The claw marks must have been his.
It's gaze looks from her to Soren, which would be easy prey to him. She draws herself up, looking significantly bigger.
She takes a shaky breath, but quickly evens it out.
The bear takes a step forward, Kara keeping her ground. The bear would not get Soren. She wouldn't let it.
Another step from the bear, another step from Kara. Suddenly the bear lunges at Soren.
She knocks it to the ground. It's up on it's paws quickly. This time though, it backs away.
"Is-is it gone?" Soren whimpers.
"Yes... yes." Kara soothes him, but her heart was pounding herself.
What if she hadn't found Soren before it attacked? He could have been waiting in the bushes, for the right time to scare her... and the bear could've leapt up on him without her knowing...
"You're alright. Let's go back."
I hope you have a lovely day/night <3
