Her mother was a big dreamer, often writing
her own books, novels, and children's books
that consist of the silliest and most outrageous
thoughts. Penseur Animé, Daima's mother often
referred to as Penny, did all sorts of things to
express herself to others, especially her daughter.
She would paint, write, sing, dance, act, all
sorts of things. She was the one to teach Daima
how to knit and crochet, having been the one
to make Daima's pink beanie in order to show
her daughter step-by-step how to do it. Penny's name
means "lively thinker" in French, and she genuinely
loved her name, so she wanted the same for her
daughter, naming her after a Swahili phrase that's
always been her favorite. Penny could be seen
muttering it to herself when writing or painting.
This became a small little funny annoyance that
occurred when Daima thought her mom was calling
her, when in fact she was just inspired.

All I Have To Do Is Dream – The Everly Brothers

Fondest Dream:
Waking up in an unusual place, Daima shook her head, with
a fuzzy feeling taking over her vision. When you dream,
you can't really tell that you're dreaming until afterward,
but when you look back, you can always recognize that
feeling of being somewhere not real. At that moment, Daima
was unknowing that she wasn't in reality, and she looked
about with a confused expression covering her sleepy face.
The place she was in had a light pink sky, with silky grass
that was the color of a soft grey. It reminded her of gently
swaying pieces of grey yarn. The tall trees that dotted around
the land every once in a while, all spaced out from each-
other, reminded her a lot of the Dr. Seuss trees in her kid's
book, with fluffy pink balls of cotton on top of light-colored
bark. Daima gave a small sigh, liking the look of the peaceful
aura that seemed to fall upon the mysterious place. The yarn
grass almost came up to her shoulders, and it was incredibly
soft to the touch. The air smelled of cotton candy, and a soft
breeze ruffled the grass ever so slightly. Everything was quiet
save for the brushing sounds of the trees and the yarn grass.
Daima took a couple steps forward, looking around with wide
eyes - which surprised even her, for it took a lot to fully wake
the girl up - with a small smile on her face. A bright light had
appeared behind the girl while she was not paying attention,
and she soon after heard her mother's voice. "You've grown
so much," the fully-pink mother Parra said, making Daima
turn around swiftly to see her once-aged mother looking young
and lively. "Mom?" Daima said with a watery smile. She
hadn't seen her mother in over five years, the poor woman falling
ill with Huntington's disease. Her mother just smiled and
walked over to her daughter, nuzzling Daima under her own chin
in a maternal fashion. "Never stop dreaming, sweetheart, never.
At that, Daima awoke, happy tears and sad tears mingling together
to pick at the corners of her eyes.
Why?:
The dream that Daima had about her mother shined a new
light on the memory of her dear Mommy. For the longest time
before that dream, all Daima could think about was her mother
ridden with Huntington's, completely lost in the disease, so much
so that she could not recognize her own daughter. The dream
allowed her to see her mother one last time, the way she was
supposed to remember her mother. Young, lively, calm, and
responsive. Every time Daima goes to sleep, she hopes that she
has the same dream again, to see her mother. So far she hasn't
yet, but she won't let her dear Mommy down, and to this day
Daima continues to dream. Both asleep, and awake.

Likes:
Daima likes a number of things, and they
all have to do with things that are soft,
plush, and cuddly. She loves pillows and
blankets, as well as sleeping and dreaming.
She especially loves to sleep in blanket and
pillow forts that she sets up. Her friends
often tease her about being an adult building
pillow forts by herself, but she just scoffs
and brushes it off. Sometimes they even
swallow their own pride and come over to
build them with her. Daima also likes knitting,
sitting for hours doing nothing but, until she
finally dozes off. Her beanie is the most dear
to her, having been given to her by her mother.
She has plenty of things from her mom, like
paintings and unpublished books and songs, but
there was just something different about the
beanie. It held the love that her mother knitted
it with, and Daima wears it wherever she goes.
Dislikes:
Daima doesn't dislike much, and the few
things she does dislike are very trivial.
She doesn't like the color brown, and she
doesn't like hardwood floors, preferring
carpet, as it is softer and way comfier to
lay on in her fort. She doesn't like yellow
cars, or torn clothes, and she really doesn't
like whoever wakes her up from her mid-
morning, after-lunch, mid-day, or before-
bed naps. She absolutely hates it when
someone tries to pull off her beanie. She
doesn't like for anyone to touch her beanie.
She doesn't like anything without some sort
of fur, not really understanding the purpose
of a pet if you can't cuddle with it. She doesn't
like movies that make her cry, and she'll only
eat white cheddar pop-corn, for it has more
flavor. The only way she'll eat regular butter
popcorn is if it comes straight from the
theater.
Personality:
Daima is a very laid-back individual, usually
going along with whatever her friend's plans
are. She wishes she was as creative and art-
loving as her mother, but she just can't seem
to ever get inspired when holding paint and
a brush. She's tried everything, photography,
painting, drawing, acting, dancing, singing.
She's found she's absolutely horrid at all of
those things, and she's found that the only
thing she's inherited from her mother was
Penny's love for knitting. Daima has always
got a lazy smile on her face, her eyes always
drooped and calm. Daima usually plays the
role as a peace-maker between her friends,
and rarely anything can get her mad. She's
very airy, some saying she's always on cloud 9.
She doesn't deny it, she just enjoys living and
sleeping. Best thing in the world, she always
says.
