What is a Great Plains Equine?:
The GPE are a special breed of horse. They are large and sturdy breed, suited best for working a farm and pulling carts. They also were once used as war horses during the war between the Mountain and Forest kingdoms. GPE stand at 13-17 hands, though are most commonly ranging at around 15-16 hands. Their coats are sleek and soft, the colors and patterns are too varied to even list, though they are most commonly found with a 'paint' style coat. Their manes and tails are long and flowing, their hooves heavily feathers and nearly fully concealed. GPE's have long beards under their chins, both male and female, and have a pair of horns that sweep backwards along their necks. Their eyes range in any color of the full spectrum, and produce a glow that resembles smoke, or possibly flames. They are docile beasts, but are not easily tamed.

Written Personality;;
Mercury has a rather harsh first impression, for a mare she's seemingly intimidating to those who know her. Despite her beauty, and stunning looks she's not all that nice, she's know for her stubbornness and unwillingness, if she believes in something she'll stick to that belief, and you won't make her not. She can generally make others back off and she's considered to be more of the boss mare in the normal herd mares. When you have made Mercury warm up to you she's more or less nice, and gentle, someone you'd love to be around, and always making jokes. But I warn you, don't you dare ever make her or try to make her change her opinion on something, she'd rather die than loose all her beliefs that she's gained over the years. When in heat Mercury is extremely taunting to the stallions, and teases them, but if they attempt anything she'll kick out, bite, and despite being a mare she is not afraid to strike. Getting a foal out of her is like winning the Olympics, you'd have to be one smart and brave stallion- but I can't garantee she'd like you for a while.

History;;
Mercury was born into a herd known as the Eastern herd and always had a proud standing in it. When she was younger, she injured her leg and was unable to keep up with the others in their constant changing of location, and so a few mares, including her now-deceased mother, stuck around with her to keep her safe and healthy. Once recovered, they rejoined the herd. She became pregnant around a year and a half ago due to a band of bachelors sneaking in and sweeping up a few of the herd's mares, and gave birth to a little filly. However, the filly was killed days later by a cougar, whom she was unable to outrun. Afterwards, Mercury was severely heartbroken and went through a wave of depression. Several months back, Mercury was the mare to come across Dipper, only a wee little foal at the time, and demanded to let him into the herd under the conditions that she would care for him. Since she had bore a foal, she could produce milk and therefore raise up the little one. Many say Dipper was able to heal the mare's broken heart, and she is obviously much happier with the colt around.

Personality: Shadow's Call, or Shadow, is sort of dark and cold. She's bitter and acts as though she hates everyone, a locked up box made of steel. She hates most company, especially people who big her about her painful past. She's also stubborn and a bit ruthless, as well as reckless. She's good at hiding her feelings, yet she's not necessarily evil. Inside, she's got a caring heart.
History:
[i]Shadow, breathing hard, rushed into the clearing. A beautiful white GPE was lying on the ground, chest barely moving.

"Mother!" Hot tears hit the forest ground as the filly approached the dying mare. The lean, wolf like creatures that had injured her snarled and crept back into the shadows they'd attacked from.

"Mom? You can't leave me!" Screeched Shadow, nudging her mother repeatedly. It was no use. She was dead.

Memories swirled around Shadow's head as she stopped to rest a year later. Whispers had spread fast.

"It's all the filly's fault," muttered some.

"If she hadn't been born, Star would still be alive."

"Maybe she's cursed. Let's get rid of her."

Shaking her head violently, eyes shadowed by grief yet raging with beauty, Shadow's Call got up and walked away.
