General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

Story: She was a child, a human child. Small, under the age of ten with short curly brown hair, and dark skin lined with freckles. It was a stormy day, she was alone and crying. He couldn't help but hear her, feel her pain, and feel the need to help. The storm progressed, it was clear danger was ahead. He trudged through the storm, the girl hanging tightly onto his back. Eventually, he could hear shouts from somewhere ahead. The fog made it difficult to see, and the wind howled through the trees threatening to block his path. "Charlie! Charlie! Charlotte, baby!" a faint cry, muffled by the downpour. Lightening strikes the tree adjacent to him, illuminating the darkness with it's flame. Thunder rumbled through the low clouds. He continued on, following the sounds of a mother's desperate screams. Just ahead, the sun peeked through the darkened clouds and he could see her. A much older woman, hunched over and crying in the middle of the street. He galloped forward, despite being exhausted and shivering. The woman stood up, ready to attack him, but she instantly hugged him seeing her child upon his back. She took her, and muttered a weak 'thank you' with tears still streaming down her face. The storm began clearing and it became obvious the hell he went through to reach her. She reached behind her neck and took off her necklace, a small heart locket with a picture of their whole family in it. She tied it around his horn, and gave his muzzle a kiss. "You have a very brave heart" she muttered, before grabbing her daughter's hand and leaving for home.
note: hope this fits the theme. He found the girl's home and in return gave home to the mother's precious necklace and adopted the name brave heart.
