Why it has the Dream catcher; Once, Cherika loved the day, sun, light, and all things bright. Then, tragedy struck... Her parents both killed one night while Cherika was out with some friends. For the first week without her parents, she didn't eat, sleep, talk, or leave her room. On the 8th day, her grandparents came in. Seeing her condition, she was rushed to the hospital. Her grandparents put a dream catcher over her bed, so she could have good dreams. Cherika nearly died. Her name used to be Zuvan, meaning sun. Her parents loved the sun, and bright things. She changed it to Cherkia, meaning moon. She keeps the dream catcher with her at all times, because it reminds her that someone cared enough to save her life. She began sleeping during the day, because it caused to much metal pain to see something that her parents loved so much. Her grandparents worried at first about Cherika staying asleep all day. They were also scared about her changing her name. When they slipped up and called her Zuvan instead of Cherika, she broke down in tears, and cried for nearly an hour. Her grandparents where scared. After a year of living with Cherika, they were used to everything. Her grandparents were old when they took in Cherika. 2 months after Cherika was old enough to move out, her grandmother died. The same things that happened when her parents died, happened again. She stayed at the hospital for a while. During her time at the hospital, her grandfather died. She cherished the dream catcher. Her friends tried to mess with her by hiding it. She doesn’t trust much of anyone anymore, thus her ears are down most of the time. She’s beginning to cope, and talk more.. but it’ll be a long, long process.
