A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.
A baby for chu all ;v; I created a bigger guy and I fell instantly in love with him, so I'm keeping him. This little pup is his child.
This is a Writing contest and will end on February 20th. You may pretty up, but no extras.

Relationship with Father;
I want us to be friends again. For you to stay for more than a day, and not leave me with my sister all the time.
I have found knifes and guns in your room, you won't say why. I love you dad. I please, let me have another chance.
I will go on trips with you and not complain. What happened to mom. I found her a mess one day,
saying she needed to get away. I next day she was gone. I have tried to stay brave,
for you and Karasu, but I am a kid, I need you to be brave for me.

::The Story of Us::
Chapter 1: Preface
"Papa...? Mama...?"
I felt the hot tears slowly slip down my face as I called pitifully from the darkness.
"Papa, I'm scared..."
I could hear the shrieks of awful creatures, the ripping and tearing of fur and earth, but worst of all the cries of my mother and ferocious growls of my father. A glowing orange came into view and I shrunk back for an instant, before realizing what it was. The familiar glint of my dad's goggles had always been comforting for me, and I think it was imprinted on me in this moment of my extreme youth.
"Papa! Where's mama?"
I shrieked weakly with relief, my father picking me up in his mouth by my scruff. He went briskly through the darkness, almost floating past the trees that were nearly invisible in the darkness. It seems only minutes had passed before we arrived at our cave, and my dad slipped in, still holding me just a little too tight.
"Ouch, papa, that hurts."
He set me down gently on my mossy bed, curling up next to me on the cold stone floor. It seemed like forever to me, the restless little one that I was, and sort of still am. It was like the world had stopped; everything was still, the silence that hung over us was eerie compared to the roar of fighting only moments before. I snuggled up next to my dad, laying my chin on his large paw and looking up at him. I could see my own scared eyes reflecting back at me, one blue, one green, but not the emotions in my father's, the ones I wanted to see most.
"Papa... Where's mama? Is she coming soon?"
He stood slowly, his head hanging weakly below his shoulders, as if it was only attached by bone. He took a deep breath, and I could hear something strange when he did, like his breath got caught in his throat.
"Mama went somewhere else Jace. She isn't coming back."
Chapter 2: Strange Beginnings
I ran as fast as I could, my speed far surpassing that of any adult Mako. It felt like my paws never even touched the earth, I was weightless; I'm pretty close anyways, I'm kinda small. The ferocious and awful screams and howls were diminishing behind me, and I soon began to slow. I fell upon a steady trot and went to thinking for a bit.
Man, I sure hope my dad doesn't find out about this. But what's the worst that could come from monsters? I just destroyed a nest, it's no big deal... I just won't tell him, what he doesn't know won't hurt him, or me for that matter. I could just barely hear the faint crashing of sea waves in the distance, and I turned in their direction, heading for home.
I arrived at our small little sea cave, wading through the shoal in front of the entrance. Upon entering I skipped into the main cavern, disregarding my wet paws. I lost grip, and before I knew it I was sliding across the slick dark rock, slamming right into my father's soft, furry chest. He let out a gruff snort, looking down at me disapprovingly, as well as suspiciously.
"Where have you been?"
I could feel the sweat already begin to bead on my brow; it's very hard to lie to my dad when he asks strait forward questions.
"Uhh.. I was playing with my friends, down the beach near the wreck."
Phew, that was close.
"Then why did you come from the woods, and what friends were you with?"
Shoot shoot shoot.
"I was with Sasha and Jasper. I walked home with Sasha through the woods because she was scared and asked me to."
Everything was going perfectly, I was home free.
"Okay son."
I turned towards freedom, but felt a paw on my shoulder.
"It's a good story, but Sasha and her mother went swimming this morning and still haven't returned. They stopped by to invite you."
Chapter 3: It's Not That Bad
I understand where my dad is coming from, I really do. He's just trying to keep me safe, and his actions are valliant. I just want a little freedom to do what I want. He wasn't angry about me lying, he was just disappointed. But he wasn't angry about the monster chasing either; he was furious.
I've been stuck in the cave for a few days now, my dad won't even let me walk outside. I sleep a lot, and when I don't I lay by the mouth of the cave and listen to the mellow droning of the waves. He wasn't around much; he was out a lot, but always within earshot of the cave.
After about four days, I was ready to just leave the cave. Just as I stood up to stretch, I heard an incredible screech, one that shook the very cave walls. I ducked into a small crevice as rocks littered down from the ceiling, and just as I jumped a large stalactite fell in the place I had been occupying only moments ago. Moments after the piercing scream, my blood curtled when the sound of my father's mighty growl reached my ears. Heavy footfall approached, and I only moved deeper into the recess.
My father's mighty paws struck the floor of the cave, and he turned to face the mighty beast that followed. It was large, almost twice as tall as my dad, its sharp horns scraping the ceiling of the cave. Black scales covered its stout body, a body finished by a short, thick tail, weaved with large spikes the size of daggers. Its head was bulbous and seemed cumbersome, and its teeth glimmered with goo. My father lunged fearlessly, only to be met by a mighty paw, one that sent him flying backwards onto the cold floor. He struck the stone and did not move.
The monster stumbled forward, advancing towards my dad. I stood and lept with all my might, throwing myself between my dad and the monster with a mighty bark. The monster seemed to chuckle, and raised its paw, ready to strike. I did not budge, knowing my dad would do the same. Suddenly my attention was shifted as my dad was flying through the air over my head, landing atop the beast. He conquered the foe with ease, sending it running for its mother. My father turned and embraced me. I think that's the first time he's ever hugged me.

Name: Kainda;
means, "Hunter's Daughter."
Gender: Female ♀
PPS or growing?: Growing ♥
Relationship with Father:Loyal | Caring | Short-Tempered | Love-Hate | Persuasive | Daddy's Girl
Kainda has a weird relationship with her father since he is very protective of her.
She respects him in everywhere of it, but sometimes the protecting goes a little
overboard for her. Kai likes to experience new beings and exciting adventures, and
being that her father is quite soft on her, she takes advantage of it. Kainda knows the
crescent is a family ritual or emblem they all carry, and it kind of bothers her that
'monster hunting'' is in her blood, and her father won't even speak or try for it.
She understands it scares her father since he lost his wife, also known as Kainda's
mother, but she wants to be like her mother and take in her footsteps.
They technically have a love-hate relationship with each other, being she's female,
She can get kind of out of hand with wanting to go on a monster-hunting with her father.
Kai is very respectful and doesn't deny a single thing her father tells her about hunting.
Being that her family knows they are monster hunters, she sticks with what her father
says and doesn't put her noise within inches of a yes. Kai loves her father very much
since he is her only parent to live in this world protected and loved.
Kai tends to ignore her father when he gets too protective when shes out with her friends.
She knows the reason, but it doesn't cross her mind of the dangers that lurk around her.
Kainda is used to getting what she wants and when, but she doesn't step outside her
fathers comfort zone. In her mind, when she grows up fully and has her own family,
she hopes to teach them monster hunting, because it will then be in their blood to own-up
to the family ritual and family past tree. Kai hopes to keep the monster hunting going for
many years, but for now until then, she doesn't bother to do anything but sit at home and
obey what her father says to her.
Kai has a personality just her fathers, but more along the lines of a regular teenager until
she grows up. She loves every piece of her father just not the fact of how controlling and
grumpy; and mainly bossy he can be.
I literally have no chance in winning. Too much writers block. Good luck to everyone~
