Well would you look at this pretty baby!
Bear run has recently gotten some outstanding and beautifully colored horses from a breeding ranch that was shutting down. However, the horses are all in poor condition because their previous owner didn't have the money to care for them properly. Rather than sending these beauties off to the shelter, they were picked up and brought here to Bear Run where we hope to adopt them out to loving new owners who will be able to nurse them back to health and give them a happy new home!

This girl could do with some proper feeding, and she has quite a few scars, some that look fairly old, and others that look suspiciously fresh. We weren't told anything about her history, but she's particularly prone to kicking when startled.
To adopt her, tell me how she got her scars (you can pick a particular few scars, or tell me about all of them). You may decorate your forms if you would like to.

How did she get her scars? Heart, who at the time was a young filly, lifted her head up in time to see their owner and his son walking across the field with the son's two dogs. Her mom, Reign, stood in their path protecting Heart. Reign was scared of dogs, especially these, who were well known for their vicious acts. The young filly, pinned her ears and stomped around, mimicking her mother. The owner was not a bad man, just an unfortunate man. His son on the other hand... Well, his son was cruel to the core.
The owner clucked to Heart's mother, trying to reassure her. He had a lariat in his hands. Carefully, he swung it through the air. It landed on the mare's neck and tightened. Reign calmed in her previously taught trust in humans. But then it happened...
"Whoops," Was all the son said, when both dogs sprung and the leashes fell from his hand. Reign cried out loudly in a panic. The owner yelled at his son and tried to quiet the mare. The dogs jumped for Heart's mom. Kicking out, she hit one on the side. It was hard enough to knock it over, but not hard enough to stop it. The dogs changed their target. This time they locked on Heart. Reign screamed for Heart to run. Heart obeyed. Turning she kicked out like her mom and bolted. She did not know where to go, but just galloped. She almost did not see the barbed wire fence. Skidding to a stop in front of the fence, Heart turned. She did not know what to do, as the dogs surrounded her on both sides. She kicked at one who slipped behind her, but this dog was not as foolish as he had been. Swiftly, he dodged her hoof. Instead of her leg hitting the dog, Heart felt a sharp pain as her right leg became entangled in the fence. Heart tried to pull leg free to no avail. The dog in front of her snapped at her leg, Panicking, Heart threw her body upwards in a rear. Her entangled leg, caused her to fall backwards; head over heels onto the fence. The young filly in her fear entangled herself deeper into the rusty metal fence. The barbs cut deep into her skin and the pain was more than she could bear. The owner rushed to her side, he ordered his son to get the dogs away and grab a pair of wire clippers. Later, Heart's owner became bankrupt due to his son's gambling and drinking. He tried to provide for them, but could not, so he called for help.
Heart never forgot the fence or the dogs. Her scars will always remind her. When something scares her, she will kick out at it like her mother did.
