My legs lock into place as my trainer shuts the heavy barn door with a slam, and the barn is dark and silent. There are other horses around me, nickering, and slowly drifting off to sleep. I close my eyes as well, although the darkness doesn't make a difference. As I stand there, having little to no thought in my mind, I drift off to a lucid sleep, then all at once into a deep sleep. Then I wake up, I am no longer in the barn anymore. My hooves are frost bitten, and I stick my tongue out to get some taste back into my dry mouth. Wet particles hit my skin, until I realize it is snow. I look down and my hooves are in an easy 5 inches of snow. I start to whine, where is my owner? Where am I? I start to look around, and my eyes fill with panic. I've never seen snow in real life before, it's always warm where I live. Is this what snow is supposed to be like? I'm scared, I pick up one hoof, then the other, and then I'm on my way. I don't know where I started or where I'm going, but I try to see through the thick snow, turning to a blizzard. My chest is warm, but my legs are shaking, I'm not used to this kind of cold. I neigh, the silence is interrupted by an echo of my cry for help. There is no one to help me. Then in the distance I see a fire, I am not going towards it, yet it keeps getting closer. It is a lamp. Attached to the lamp is a hand, a human. I throw my head up in surprise and trot towards the light cautiously. It is my trainer. I wake up.

personality: Moon is a sweet and gentle girl, but she loves company perhaps a little too much. She's not needy or anxious, she just looks for anyone who will stand by her or near her so she doesn't feel alone. In the paddock, if she doesn't have a friend in with her, she will search the area until she can see another horse somewhere, even if it's on a distant hill. When the riding school kids tack her up, she always turns her head and touches them with her muzzle to make sure they are still there. We're unsure of why she needs such attachment to something, but it is an endearing apsect of her personality that makes her lovable and willing to please.

personality + type: Liljá is such a sweet girl. She is softly-spoken, cheerful, and considerate, and listens eagerly to what others have to say (whether that be trainers or other tolters needing somepony to talk to). This mare is an obvious favourite - equally sweet and perceptive to whoever needs her. However, it means she can get away with a bit more with both trainers and other tolters in the way of misbehaviour. She doesn't have remotely the same mischevious spirit as resident chaos-makers Koda, Kiki or Dragon, nor any malevolence in her actions. Liljá is just a little cheeky when it comes to playing or groundwork. Liljá can be sensitive about change, especially if her paddock companions are moved somewhere else.
Liljá loves other tolters, children and foals, and at the relatively short height of 13.2hh, she makes the perfect lesson horse for younger riders visiting the stud. As well as cross-country and trail riding, Liljá also serves as a sort of 'broodmare companion' - occasionally, when mares are separated from the herd to give birth and care for the foal without any stallions or tolters around to hurt them, they get lonely or anxious and sometimes fret, which can be bad for both them and the foal. Liljá has the perfect mix of easygoing-ness, patience, and cheerfulness to make her a good companion for mares during this time - she knows not to get too pushy with them both, and, because she loves foals, she can help the dam care for the foal if she needs an extra hoof, or is a maiden.
quirks: Liljá is the stable's resident Houdini. Being such a softie, her escaping is never out of malice to her trainers - it's more so that she can explore outside with her friends and have a little peace and quiet in the moonlight.
friends + the herd dynamic: Liljá is something of a doormat, rank-wise. She is thoughtful and perceptive, which makes her something of an agony aunt in the herd - she is often seen patiently reassuring fretful Orrin or listening to Thistle grumbling about whatever has ticked her off that day. This makes her pretty popular as a steadfast friend. Liljá is especially close to new girl Jellybean (she is empathetic enough to be able to soothe Bean’s awkward and moody tendancies and allow her to fumble her way into a friendship), and Koda and Kiki (despite not being quite so much of a hellraiser - sometimes she finds it hard to keep up with Koda and the other younger mares, with all of their mischevious schemes, but Liljá is pretty happy to hang back with Opal and Ripple and hear about it afterwards). Her and Violet also get along pretty well.

Lullaby's Best and only friend is The Mockingjay's Song These two mares seem to get along so well you would think they are sisters but they understand each other and make each other feel brave. Together they can face challenges they may not do amazing but they would have had fun.
