    name -Alieda Brielle Walker -->
age - 20 ish [I'm keeping her the same age as her twin, Valli]
about alieda - Ali can be really quiet, but is usually straight-forward when she does speak. She hates the cold so she bundles up well and really breaks out of her shell, so to speak, in the summer. Alieda loves to surf and hangs out at the beach a lot. More often than not she is calm and sometimes brutally honest. She has a temper though, after you aggravate her one too many times you may lose a finger or two, but she also knows when enough is enough. Ali can be rather distant as she isn't good at opening up or trusting others easily. She works at the orphanage and has for a while, she's not sure why she started to but at first she just volunteered there and then decided to work there. Before she started there she was in a car wreck, which was a few months ago, and gave her amnesia and a broken left arm but she still doesn't remember anything from before the wreck. Her arm has healed but her memories haven't come back. Sometimes she wonders who she used to know and who remembers her. Ali can get kind of frustrated with not remembering and feels like she can't just go say hello to just anyone, they may not like her and her not know why. Since then, however, she has gotten to know her twin Valli, and now knows that she has a half sister named Eira. She visits Valli often and isn't too sure how to approach Eira.

[why do you want to adopt him/her?]
_________________________________________________________________________________________________

I feel like everyone should have a home and although i don't know this little one's design I know that they are just wanting to be loved and I have the personal experience of abandonment and loneliness and I hate to see anyone or anything feel that way, I understand it and always love to try and help others with it, it's a constant struggle. One that can make you doubt yourself and those around you but it's also one that can make you love the little things even more. A simple I love you in a motherly or fatherly way or a hug can make the day. Or a friend sticking up for you, it makes the struggle seem worth it even if it can be a damper on your emotions sometimes. So to help with the struggle I want to offer my open arms and open family of odd but unique characters to welcome him/her to have a family for Christmas. One that I'm sure isn't always the best but at the end of the day is filled with love and hope that someday everyone, bean, human, bear, etc. will have someone to love them and to love at Christmas and the rest of their years.

[why I would like alieda to be their parent]
_________________________________________________________________________________________________

Laces owned Alieda before me and is an amazing owner and had a good reason to give me Ali and I will always be grateful she chose me, but since she hasn't been in my care for too long I still am trying to get her right, let her make friends and develop personality, and I'm still learning who she did and didn't know before I owned her. Since I tried out for 500 I've had the idea that she'd me an awesome single mom, maybe not forever as I wouldn't mind finding her a mate, but to me her attitude and nature would be perfect for this. I also think that since she is trying to figure herself out, because of the amnesia the orphanage was a good place for her to work, it's full of kids who need to find themselves and a home. So it seemed good for her. Now this seems like it would be right for her and for me.

[red ribbons]

Alieda had a rough morning already and was nice and late for work and then one of the kids tore her scarf and they were all kinda crazy today. All running about trying to look good and some even made it a competition. Most kids hoped that this Christmas they'd find a home and some just hated Christmas. Either way it was crazy at the orphanage and it'd been a tiring morning so Alieda figured a walk in the park with her hot cocoa would be a nice break. when she arrived it had only just began to snow and so she sat on a bench and once she finished her hot chocolate she got up and threw it away and turned hearing her name being called out. "A-Alieda? Is that you?" She looked and it was an unfamiliar face. 'Oh no, they must have known me from before..' She couldn't help but be a bit embarrassed and frustrated at her memory loss. "Hello? I am Alieda, but I don't remember you, sorry.. I-I don't remember anything from before I was in the wreck." She said to the younger male apologetically. "Oh... Well I'm Cruz." They both stood therefor a moment and Ali wasn't quite sure what to say or do, she hadn't been the best at dealing with this yet but usually they said more.

Cruz spoke to her after a few moments, she guessed he was recalling how she used to be. That always made her feel weird that other beans knew more about her than she did. "Well how are you?" He asked her, the slightly younger male seemed like he was sad for some reason and her heart wanted to comfort him, but she knew she couldn't just pretend to know him again to try and make him feel better. "I'm alright, still trying to figure things out I guess. How are you?" She asked and did hope maybe he'd talk to her and feel a little better. They talked for a little while before deciding to walk, Alieda had a while before she needed to be back and Cruz didn't seem like he wanted to go home so they went down a snowy path talking about life and she opened up to him, hoping he would open up to her as well.
Image

As they walked through the snowy forest the wind and snow picked up. "brrrrr." Alieda shivered and squinted her eyes for a moment, thinking she saw a red streak on the ground. "Wha...?" She blinked and looked again, before pointing as it became clearer, the snow was starting to cover it up and so she hurried towards it, a little red ribbon being knocked around by the wind and snow. As she neared there was some kind of urgency in the air and the wind and snow continued to cover over the red. "What is it??" She had to almost yell and she could see Cruz hurrying as well but couldn't hear his words. She gently grabbed the ribbon before being able to tell it was attached to something. She read the tag and wondered if a kid had thrown a prank Christmas present out or something. Something in her stomach told her that wasn't the case as she knelt down with Cruz on her left and the both brushed through snow until they saw it, both gasping in horror.

Neither of them understood how anyone could just leave an egg out here in the cold. Alieda was the first to move knowing that if she was cold the poor egg was probably near death, she unwrapped the ribbon with that horrible note, anger burning in her belly that anyone could put that on their own child and leave them to die at least the ones who took them to the orphanage didn't leave them in the cold! She scooped up the egg and wrapped it in her scarf and snow hit her collar making her shiver which only made her wonder if the little one inside was still alive. She held it to her ear but could hear nothing over the wind and she didn't want to spare a single moment, so she just put the scarf wrapped egg in her pouch and made sure her jacket was zipped, ad that the egg was nice and secure before turning to Cruz. "We have to hurry and make sure it's ok!" Cruz nodded and the both hurried out of the park and to the street, Alieda holding her pouch, so the egg didn't bounce around to much. Cruz found a cab and Alieda rattled off the address of the orphanage as they piled in, only thinking of the egg's safety. 'come on little guy I know you can make it!'

They arrived within a few minutes and Alieda was still clutching her pouch and worrying, mostly going back and forth from 'how could anyone do this' to 'please be ok'. Once they were inside Alieda told everyone what had happened and the rest of the staff cleared an incubator and flipped it on. Alieda left her scarf on the egg clad bean and set it in gently and they waited for the incubator's monitor to beep, to show life, a heartbeat. Those seconds were the longest and just as they thought it wasn't going to work a slow quiet beep came up. "Oh yes!! I knew you could do it!" Alieda whispered, and everyone in the room let out a breath. Soon Cruz left, but promised to come back in and check on the little fighter and the rest of the staff said it would need watching and Alieda volunteered. She felt like it was her responsibility, plus she wanted to make sure the egg made it, so far so good but it still had to be watched. As the day went on one of her co-worker's brought her a coffee and then the boss came in and sat down. "So no one was around right?" She asked softly but Alieda could tell she meant business, as usual. "No, and there was this awful ribbon with a tag that said 'worst Christmas present ever'." She answered sipping on they last bits of her coffee. She glanced at the egg and the focused her blue eyes on the boss again. "Ok, um well since you found the poor dear, you can set up the adoption if you'd like?" Her boss peered at her and gave her a tired smile. She knew it was supposed to be an honor but she didn't know how she could watch that. "No thank you ma'am." She answered and the boss left her to her duties. As night approached her shift was close to ending but she had nothing better at home so she said she'd pick up and extra shift tonight, her boss told her to go home but she couldn't.
Image

Some of the kids there snored and in the nursery, where the incubator was at, the younger beans slept soundly, there weren't many young ones, the adopting families liked younger kids, once they were older not as many families wanted them. She liked that most kept hope though. Alieda looked over at the egg and laid a gentle hand on it, the soft fabric of her scarf moving a bit as she did. "You keep on fighting, little guy.. or girl.. either way you're a trooper." She told the egg quietly. Her coffee was beginning to ware off and she had to stay awake so she just kept talking, her hair pulled into a messy bun and the rocking chair she'd pulled over was beginning to pull her into sleep so she stopped rocking and just kept talking to the egg about everything, how lonely her apartment was, how her arm hurt sometimes still and just anything she could think of. By the time she was almost asleep she was about out of topics to talk about and her hand was getting a little toasty for her taste so she ended up curling herself in the chair and looking at egg, fighting her sleep all the way. The last thing she said was a drowsy "I'll never leave you eggy..." before her eyelids grew to heavy and she fell asleep.

A few days went by, Alieda keeping watch and the mandatory wait and newspaper ad to see if anyone knew where the egg's parents' were. Then the adoption interviews started, she knew a lot of family's would see the little article in the newspaper and come to see if the could bring it home. She tried to ignore it and remembered the little red ribbon that was wrapped arounf the egg when she found it. So she went and bought the egg a new ribbon and tied it around it, leaving a little bow on there. "See? Now you're red ribbon means you are a prize! A wonderful one too, I don't see how they couldn't see you like that in the first place." She told the egg. Alieda went and got herself a drink and checked on some of the other kids before seeing Cruz had come to check on the little one and so she showed him his or her's little heartbeat. "See how much stronger they are already?" She said softly. He nodded and smiled. "Yeah I see you got the egg a new ribbon?" He asked and she thought she saw a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Yeah I did." She looked away when she said it, feeling now as though it might have been silly. "You know you should adopt the egg, you obviously love them already." Cruz told her and she didn't really listen to her reply or the rest of the conversation. 'I guess I do huh? maybe I should, plus I already promised not to leave... I don't know I'll wait for a sign..' So she waited and one day later that week she saw her boss standing with this family she had seen before. "Oh Ms. Walker, this is one of the potential families. They heard how much you've looked after the egg and wanted to thank you." Alieda blinked and tried to be filled with a sense of accomplishment and such but could only dislike that they were already discussing things past interviews with some families. The family had this kid who looked at her the whole time and right before they left came running up to her. "You are very nice miss! Take this thingy!" And the kid dropped a little red tail ribbon into her paw. She blinked and knew this was her sign. "Ok alright, I know what I need to do now." She whispered and set up and interview with her boss, to which her boss said "Finally!"

Note-I'm sorry it's so long but
    honestly it didn't sound right
when I tried to shorten it,
    and Cruz belongs to Laces.
    Good luck on judging nwn.

    [the interview] With Alieda
    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Do you want girl or a Boy?
A: I honestly don't mind either one, I'd love them just as much either way. I can see a little girl in a red dress or a boy in little overalls or whatever kids wear these days. If I got the little one that's probably what I'd dress them up in until they could pick their clothes out, honestly.

Q: Have you figured out a name for this poor dear?
A: Not really, I like a few names but I'm not sure. I like Rudy for a boy a lot and Isabeau for a girl, but there are a lot of names out there and I wouldn't make a rash decision on something so important.

Q: When the question comes, how will you tell them they're adopted?
A: Well.. I wish it wouldn't but since I know it will, I would tell them the truth.. Then I'd tell them what I have all along, that I won't leave them and then I would tell them I love them no matter what.

Q: What kind of discipline would you use?
A: I don't like snotty, self-entitled kids and so I would be sure to punish when needed, but give them plenty of attention... If they pitched a fit, time out, or if they were really bad I would take away their electronics or toys. I don't like spanking but if I needed to I would, but never hard enough to leave a mark, just show them that what they did is wrong.

Q: Would you love them not matter the outcome?
A: Yes, of course! They could hatch and just be a turtle, but they'd be my baby turtle!

Q: Do you have a plan for daycare or someone to watch them while you work?
A: Uh well.. No, but I'm sure I could figure it out, hire a babysitter or ask my sister. I bet the would keep some of the other kids entertained around the orphanage if I brought them with me though. I might take a personal leave though, while they are little at least, so I don't miss a minute of their life.

Q: Would you ever mentally or physically harm this child in any way?
A: No! I was so angry that someone could even leave them in the cold, It would pain me to even see them hurt.

Q: Say they want to go ride their bike, are you just gonna let them without protective gear or a helmet and sit inside?
A: Oh no, they would not be outside on their own for a long time and even then it better be just to get the mail or something and come right back in. I would always make sure they wore a helmet and definitely knee pads and arm pads. If it's cold they'd be wearing their jackets.

Q: What type of activities will you plan to do with the baby?
A: Well in the summer I love to surf and swim so I would definitely be teaching them how to do that and snorkel and oooo! Collect seashells and make sand castles! Many things, there's so much to do with them.

Q: Will you respect and love them for their decisions in later life?
A: I'm sure sometimes I won't agree with their decisions but I will always love and respect them.

possibly / might enter if I have the time
An idea came to me that I'd love to use

    "How it was found" Notes:
    - Shardul will be the egg's guardian
    - Shardul was walking along the park - alone, as usual, for Christmas
    - Quick movement caught his eye and he turned just in time to see a dark bean throw a small object into the forest. Shardul shouted and paced towards the bean, but it shadow disappeared before he could reach the bean.
    - Shardul turned to go deep into the forest and searched for the object - when he found a black coal in the snow.
    - He saw a note around it and squinted his eyes to read the scribble of words.
    - When he read it, he chuckled and though it was the typical kid moping over how they received a lump of coal from Jelly Claus for Christmas in their stockings instead of presents because of their misbehaviour.
    - Shardul was about to walk off when the coal moved slightly in the snow. Shardul studied it closer, only to think again that the coal looked misshaped from its regular appearance... but to look similar to an eg!
    - Shardul didn't want to let the poor thing freeze to death, so he grabbed it and stuffed it in his pouch, looking around once more for the owner of the egg.
    - He took it home and placed it near the fire - While it dried, he had thoughts about the egg. Like, what was he going to do with it, how could he care for the egg as he had no experience with children of his own. He thought about taking it to a orphan... but he felt the pain of the poor thing being alone for years (his own experience in the war).
    - Shardul decided to take it in and care for it - asking his close friend Pyro, who had a family of his own, to help him look after it. Pyro's daughter Kallyma, who was orphan, also came around a lot to help raise the bean.
leaving cs as I don't come on here as much as I used too. might come on irregularly to check things, but yeah, I'm probs not gonna return to this place anymore. If you'd like to contact me or interested in my art, check out my da

ADOPTER
iJellybean
owner so far of two beans, Leland and Gotham
Why do you want to adopt him/her?: For some reason I just adore the fact about having an orphan bean. This little one seems so interesting too, with the colors. Just the simple idea of a christmas bean based on coal. Is very amazing too me! Like come on who comes up with this? I just adore the idea and I know this little one will look awesome for sure.

What will you do if you won him/her?: written by: ?

Hearing about the Egg: Yumemi's P.O.V. written by: iJellybean
Sitting outside on the porch I sigh its chilly outside, but still okay to be out. I was reading the paper when I came across something that pulled on my heart. About a poor egg abandoned by its parents, this was truly sad too me. I mean me already being a mother of four of my own. Not to mention my two lovely adopted twins. Though this was an egg left to freeze out in the cold winter of a park. As I read on I started to tear up, poor thing! Really I must do something about this! Getting up I go inside "Pokey?" I say walking in to find him on the couch reading. As he slowly looks away from his book to me "Yes dear?" he ask me. Coming to sit next to him I show him the orphan egg in the paper. "Pokey hun we got to adopt the little thing!" I plead at him as I look at him with sad eyes. I know he is going to think this is stupid, but this poor little thing! Sighing he puts his book down "Darling we already have six kids, why do we need one more?" he ask me trying not to be harsh. Looking at him I sigh getting up looking down at him. "It was left to die! Out in the cold Pokey! It is no where near a lovely looking thing, but I want to take care of it..." I start to explain my self tearing up. Pokey sees this quickly getting up hugging me with sigh. Kissing the top of my head "Dear, dear don't cry! Fine, we will go and see if we can get it." He says with another sigh. A huge smile comes to my face as I hug him back kissing his cheek softly.

Going to meet the Egg: Pokey P.O.V. written by: iJellybean
Sighing as I parked the car at the orphanage, how did I get into this again? Oh yes there's no way to say no to my darling Yumemi. Looking over at her she has a smile on her face. Wow she really has a big heart now does she. Taking her hand I kiss it looking up to see her blushing. Smiling I get out of the car going over to her door opening it for her. "Just remember I'm doing this all for you dear." I say to her as I help her into the orphanage. Walking in went to the front desk as I held her hand in mine. "Hello there Miss we are her to talk about the orphan egg." I say to the lady be hide the desk. She nods her head looking at a list of people "Pokey and Yumemi, right? Well all I can say so far your the only people looking at adopting the little thing." she says as he nod are heads yes to her question. Looking at Yumemi she seems shocked that we are the only couple looking at the egg. After that the lady got up leading us to a room where someone would come in with the little egg. Soon another lady came in with it in her arms, wrapped in a blanket to keep it warm. She smiled at us "I'm glad a nice couple is looking at taking this little one home. I already know you know all the forms, so I'll set them here. I'll be back soon, but I'll let you see if you want him." she says. Setting the egg in my arms I haven't looked at him yet. Yumemi is handed the papers to fill out if we truly want this little one. Looking down at the egg I fall in love, I remember my kids as eggs. Now it breaks my heart that this one doesn't have a home. Looking at Yumemi I already know she wants the little one. "We're going to take him." I say to her grinning as I hold him in my eyes. Seeing her eyes light up like a christmas tree as I told her what I thought. "Oh yes, yes, yes!" she says as she starts carefully filling out the adoption forms.

Other Family: This little one would be joining a big happy family, if it went home with Pokey and Yumemi. It would have four sisters and two brothers. Two who are adults, and the other four are teens. Two of its siblings would be fellow orphans, and could relate great to the egg. It would have a brother in-law who is very wonderful as well. Then two young nephews that it would have to play with! How fun right? Not to mention two lovely aunts of his too, plus and uncle. There would be three cousins on its mothers side, two whom are still young to play with it.

Raziel Azrich
JBD #727MaleSingle
A bachelor Jelly Bean Dragon, Raziel has always had a deep love for children and animals alike. Despite his quiet nature he can be quite the people person, and is very active and social. He currently has no love interests; the only female he had feelings towards is currently in a relationship, so unless the relationship falls through, he doesn't feel as though he's ready to trust anyone else quite yet. He works as an exercise rider at Amethyst Ridge Ranch where he lives; he has a home on the property, a steady income, and a group of well-trusted friends that would be more than willing to help him raise the baby. His work can be dangerous, though, as he rides the stables' Shedu cats and thoroughbreds for exercise. He tends to travel a lot, but Amethyst is willing to let him take time off until the baby is old enough to travel.

ωну ∂σ уσυ ωαηт тσ α∂σρт нιм/нєя?:
No one deserves to be alone on Christmas.
Raziel has been lonely for a very long time; sure, he has his friends and work to keep him occupied during the day, but the onyx nights are a different story. When he returns home it's often unsettling because of the quiet, save for the rare occasions that someone comes to watch a movie and ends up staying the night. This little bab would be his chance to change all of that, to finally have someone that would spend their days by his side and chase away the wretched loneliness he's been fighting. I want to adopt him or her because it would not only give them a consistent loving home with Raziel, but they could be each other's permanent "light source". It would be a mutual bond that gave both father and child something secure to lean on when times got tough. At the very core though, it's also because Raziel was also an orphan; he grew up on his own, taught himself to read and write, and spent many, many lonely days searching for a friend. Growing up was hard for him, but he managed and aged into a fine, upstanding young man. He doesn't want to allow another baby of any species, whose parents left much like Raziel's left him, to have to grow up enduring that same kind of hopeless depression that he struggled to push through in his younger years.

She will be kept. Period.
No matter the outcome, I will be keeping the baby. I'm not very concerned with how she will look, because I've already formed an attachment to her through not only the partial character I've already envisioned, but also through the story that will soon be told in Raziel's fiery eyes. That alone means the Bean will be more than worth keeping.

ηαмє:
Though it's still up for debate, the Latin first name "Mia" really stands out for this Bean as a first name. It's short and simple, and it means "a wished for child". This is the main meaning Raziel chose it for, since he truly has been wishing for a child of his own. The name also means "rebellion" or "bitter".
I have chosen that the Bean will have the middle name Nathanael, the angel ruling over hidden things, fire & vengeance. Raziel pronounces it "Nay-than-ay-el". Since Raziel's name is angelic itself, specifically the angel who guards the secrets of the universe, he considers it tradition that she has an angelic name too. Though he isn't highly religious, he knows angelic names can carry power and virtue with them, and he hopes that they will pass to Mia.
Then of course the child will take on Raziel's last name "Azrich" ("ahz-rick").

gєη∂єя:
I'm leaning heavily towards female, but this hasn't been set in stone yet. If the design appears as undoubtedly male, then I may change it, but I imagine her as Raziel's precious baby girl.

ρєяѕσηαℓιту ѕηιρρєт:
Quiet and somewhat reclusive around new people, Mia is slow to trust and easy to drive away. She requires a high sense of loyalty and true honesty to even begin building a relationship of any kind with someone; but once it's been formed, as long as she's treated right, you'll have a friend for life. She's grown up to be tough, but is still easily bothered by the abandonment of her parents; when it's brought up she'll typically lash out in anger, but it actually hurts her much more than she lets on.

gєηєяαℓ нєαℓтн:
Mia is actually a very sickly child; her immune system is weak from her rough beginning, and as a result she can contract minor sicknesses quite often. Otherwise she is generally healthy and athletic, but she is sensitive to the cold and during winter her immune system is weak; she takes vitamin supplements year-round and has to keep on schedule with her immunizations.

яєℓαтισηѕнιρѕ:

яαzιєℓ:
Undoubtedly Raziel is the person she's closest to. There's a deep mutual understanding between the two, an unbreakable bond forged by identical, painful pasts. As a result he's very protective and always ready to jump to her defense no matter what the danger is. During the teenage years, she will get slightly perturbed by his overprotective nature (especially when she starts dating), but she reminds herself that it's only because Raziel loves her so much, and does his best to keep her from getting hurt.

¢σαℓ:
A rambunctious young colt, Coal was actually born on the same day Mia was! They made an immediate connection, and growing up together only strengthened their bond; completely inseparable, Mia and Coal are almost always together, no matter rain or shine, dark or light. While she was still an egg, the foal seemed to know that she'd need a friend, so in that first moment they'd "met" (even though she'd still been safe in her egg), Coal seemed to give her a comforting smile before softly nuzzling the shadow's smooth surface.

ѕιтαℓα:
Mia and Sitala aren't very close, but they are very friendly and have a certain understanding about them. While Sitala's soft air of mystery does make Mia slightly uncomfortable at times, you can often see the two sitting and talking in hushed tones. Mia usually takes her greatest secrets to the female Kiamara, because she knows Sitala would never tell them to another soul without Mia's express permission. Besides secrets and advice, Mia usually goes to Sitala when she wants to be taught something very feminine; for example, when Mia wanted to learn how to dance, the gypsy was the first person- er, Kiamara she went to!

αмєтнуѕт':
The owner of Amethyst Ridge Ranch and Raziel's boss, Mia and Amethyst are actually a lot closer than you might think. They're very similar in many ways, and share a lot of common interests and traits. Mia will usually go to Amethyst first for advice on anything, The two are constantly together during Amethyst's down time, chatting and laughing; Amethyst usually takes her shopping as well, when Raziel is working of course. Raziel and Amethyst are the ones who taught Mia how to ride everything from Coal to pegasi; and believe me, they had tons of fun doing it.

¢αѕтιєℓ:
There's a tense respect between Mia and Castiel; truth be told, the werewolf intimidates her. A lot. She's always awkward and nervous around him, usually bashful under his intense stare, but he doesn't know he's so intense in his expression; it's his natural look. Castiel always seems to have a smile for her, though, despite it typically being tiny and almost unnoticeable. Castiel would still take a bullet for her, though, just like he would any member of his family,

It was a beautiful evening for a ride, Raziel mused. He hummed quietly to himself as the snow fell around him and his mount, the stallion's hooves crunching through the small layer of snow that had accumulated on the long path of the park. Snuggled securely in his jacket, the golden-hued Jelly Bean Dragon ignored the cold on his face and allowed his humming to morph into a song. "Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh..." The sudden snort of his mount interrupting his song, Raziel looked down as the paint shook his choppy mane. "Yes, I know we're not dashing, and I know you're not pulling a sleigh. But it's part of the song!" A nicker emanated from the stallion's chest, and Raziel sighed. "Don't be such a grinch, Seraph! It's Christmas!" Another snort. "Fine, it's close to Christmas. That being said, it's getting colder; shall we head home?" At first it seemed like Seraph was going to turn around and head back on his own accord, but suddenly the paint's chocolate ears perked forward and his nostrils trembled. "Huh? What is it boy?"

As Seraph broke into a quick canter, Raziel had no choice but to just hang on and see where his mount was leading him. The horse seemed to be looking for something, as if he was following some sort of trail. Another cold wind dipped down to bite the duo, Raziel giving an involuntary shiver even despite his warm fur jacket and his actual fur. "Seraph, the snow is falling harder; we need to get going before-" Suddenly the horse came to a standstill, and a few feet ahead Raziel could just make out a dark blob quickly being buried by the snow. 'It couldn't be....?'

Leaping off of his horse, the cold seeping through his boots, Raziel rushed forward to uncover the tiny form. It was... "An egg," he finished his own thought aloud, quickly picking up the baby Bean and holding it close. It was ice cold; Raziel could swear he felt it shivering. Upon closer inspection he found a red ribbon wrapped around the middle of the egg, to the end of which had a note tied on. The paper was damp, the scribbled font almost illegible, but he managed to make out the message: "The worst Christmas present ever."

A wave of fury erupted through the male's body then, and he loudly growled. How dare they?! A child still at the prime of its innocence, not even hatched yet, and they throw it away like a broken toy? Raziel looked around for only a moment, trying to catch sight of a form retreating into the snow, but the only shadows to be found were those that belonged to the forest itself. Warmed by the rage that coursed through his veins, Raziel quickly removed his jacket and wrapped the little egg in it before he grabbed Seraph's reins. It took him little effort to vault onto the stallion's back, and they both jumped into action. "To the hospital Seraph, and quickly!"

The ride there was long and silent; they couldn't move too fast, lest Seraph slip and injure himself, but time was of the essence for both adult Bean and egg; the only thing keeping Raziel from truly feeling the cold was the adrenaline high he was currently soaring through. Strong hips matching the horse's motions, Raziel dropped the reins long enough to tuck the jacket better around the baby, cutting off any access the frigid air had to the onyx egg. Snowflakes whipped by his face as the two rushed to the hospital, the cold stinging their skin horribly as the night closed in around them, any hope of warm sunlight now descended far below the horizon.

As the hospital came into sight, Raziel suddenly began to breath again; how long had he been holding that breath?

Turning to look behind him, checking for oncoming traffic, he found none and quickly guided Seraph across the road, up through the decorative bushes and into the parking lot. Seraph's hooves clattered noisily on the asphalt, drawing the attention of a few bystanders talking just outside the ER doors as he slid to a sudden stop. Raziel never lost a beat, nearly leaping from Seraph's back and rushing into the bright warmth of the hospital, a stark contrast to the freezing darkness outside. The emergency room was nearly empty, save for a mother and her own child, who seemed to be ill. Locking eyes with the nurse as he approached, he smiled welcomingly, though there was a tinge of panic to it.

"Hello sir, how may I help you?" Her voice was light and sweet.

Raziel placed his jacket on the counter and began slowly unwrapping the beige cocoon he'd created. "I was out riding in the park five blocks over, and I found this little one almost buried by the snow," he said urgently. "It's ice cold, but still alive, I think. This..." He hesitated as the egg came into sight, pulling on the red ribbon to free the note, "This was with the egg." The nurse's eyes widened, and she quickly paged for the doctor. It was barely a minute before staff came rushing out and took the egg, disappearing behind the swinging doors with the baby as well as Raziel's jacket.

Turning back to the nurse, he watched her dainty paws type away at the computer. "So this isn't your egg, Mr...?"

"Azrich, Raziel Azrich. And no, it isn't mine, but I'd love to meet the parents," he muttered sarcastically, still very angry over the entire situation.

"Alright, can I get your information for hospital records? As well, a Child Services agent might come to speak with you about it." Raziel only nodded, and began answering whatever questions she asked.

After a few minutes she went to ask the last question, and suddenly her breath hitched in her throat. "Miss? What's wro-?" The sudden clop of hooves on tile caused Raziel to turn and look, and he found Seraph standing just inside the doors, a look of pure equine ecstasy on his face at the sudden warmth. "Ah, that's just my horse. It's pretty cold out there, and we rode here, no trailer or anything. Would it be alright if he just laid near to me?" The nurse seemed unsure at first, but seeing how behaved the horse was, she reluctantly agreed. After getting the last of Raziel's information, she too disappeared for a bit, back into what he assumed to be an office. The golden JBD sent his boss a quick text to let her know what happened, then proceeded to find a seat, the paint stallion following him quietly. When Raziel finally sat down, the horse just plopped down the the tile floor with a groan, and Raziel reached down to loosen his girth.

Looking back up, he found the mother and child staring at him curiously, and he cracked a sheepish grin. "Sorry, Seraph's quiet, he'll just sleep for awhile." The young JBD looked sicker than Raziel originally thought, but there was still fire in her vibrant eyes. She managed to wiggle down off her mother's lap, and stumble slowly over to the horse. The mother went to get up, but Raziel just waved his hand in a "don't worry about it" fashion. "Seraph loves kids, he won't mind."

Suddenly the paint's head lifted to look at the little Bean, and he extended his nose to test her scent, blowing warm air in her face as he did. He too could tell that she was sick; from what, he didn't know, but he could tell that she didn't feel good at all. So, being the good horse he is, he allowed the child to nuzzle herself across his forelegs, lying underneath his neck with her little arms around him. One ear tilted down when he heard her yawn, and if Seraph could have smiled, he probably would have. Instead though, he simply nuzzled her gently and rested his own head, careful not to hurt her as he too began to doze off in the warmth of the hospital. Looking back to the mother Jelly Bean Dragon, Raziel chuckled softly at the mother's awestruck expression. "Like I said, he loves kids." As he settled into a conversation with the mother, Raziel found himself continually looking up and over at the doors, anxiously awaiting news, preferably the good kind; an hour passed and eventually the two other Jelly Bean Dragons left, the drowsy little girl going to be examined by the doctor as well. Left alone in the waiting room, Raziel began to grow sleepy himself, eventually drifting off into a light slumber.

⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯

The steady hum of the heater and the strong scent of cleaning chemicals were the first things Raziel awoke to; right after that came the voices, vague at first before they cleared into two separate entities: one was male, the other female. Briefly he contemplated just falling back asleep, that is, until the female voice mentioned something about an abandoned egg. His fiery eyes suddenly snapped open then, wide awake as he forced his stiff, sore body to stand. His focus now on the female Jelly Bean Dragon- dressed smartly in business attire, most likely from Child Services- talking, he heard her again mention the egg and something about a potential adoption. Taking a brief moment to try and clean himself up a bit (he was sure it wouldn't do much, though) Raziel went to walk forward to meet her. Instead, though, he almost tripped over Seraph's saddle; he managed to save himself, and briefly glared outside where he saw the paint foraging for anything edible buried beneath the snow. Raziel gently nudged the saddle aside and strode forward, his boots softly clicking on the pristine tile floor.

The male nurse retreated to his desk right before the wild-marked male approached. Perfect timing, Raziel thought, smiling to himself. Taking a deep breath, he spoke with conviction, eyes literally burning with excitement and passion. "Miss?" He asked properly, and the agent turned to look at him. Staring down at the shorter female, Raziel couldn't stop himself before he blurted out his true intentions: "I would like to adopt the orphaned egg."

A delicate eyebrow arching quizzically, the female gave Raziel a brief once-over. "And you would be?"

"Ah, pardon my manners, Miss. My name is Raziel Azrich. I'm, well, I'm the one who found the egg in the snow last night," he said, voice growing soft with the last part of his sentence. His eyes grew sad for a moment. "I was an orphan as well; I don't want another little one to have to go through what I did," he said softly, glancing away.

The agent's eyes softened then, and she nodded. "The adoption won't be for awhile; first, the little one has to pull through the remains of gestation," her voice was solemn, as if the baby was marked for death. "But before any of that, I need to know about you finding the egg. Shall we sit?" She motioned to where Raziel had been just previously. He nodded and followed her over so she could take his statement. "So, how did you find the orphan?"

"I had been here visiting some friends for Christmas; we had done our party earlier in the day, so I'd taken my horse Seraph out for a ride to get him some exercise and spend time with him. We were out near the edge of the woods behind the park; truth be told, I was looking for signs of cardinals, since I enjoy birdwatching back home. Well, it was getting dark and the snow was picking up, so I told Seraph it was time to head home, but he refused. He started acting kind of strange, throwing his head and trying to move in a very specific direction; so I let the reins loose and let him take me to wherever he'd sensed something. All I saw was a little dark form being slowly buried by the snow, and I leapt down to pick it up. There were no tracks, no other signs of life, just the egg," he said, taking a deep breath. "I immediately wrapped the little one in my coat, because with the clothes I was wearing it'd take too long to get the baby in my pouch. Since I saw no one else in the area, I leapt up onto Seraph's back and we booked it here to the hospital. From there, the doctor took it back to care for it. I've been here all night, hoping to hear news."

"Does your horse often react that way to things?"

"Rarely," Raziel replies. "If it isn't treats or racing, he usually responds pretty apathetically. He's an easy ride outside of the racetrack, at least for me. I'm the only one who's able to ride him. It's a trust thing." As if on cue, the hospital doors slid open and gave way to the clicking of hooves as the stallion approached. His ears flicked forward and he inspected the woman, then just snorted softly and craned his neck to nudge Raziel. The JBD took the horse's massive head in his hands and began to pet him, Seraph nipping gently at his sleeve in the process.

The female agent only nodded again, the vague kind of nod that simply meant she understood; Raziel couldn't get a good read on her, and that made his stomach churn slightly. In less that twelve hours he already felt a kinship to this egg, like it was actually his and he just didn't know it; he wanted to be the one that it grew up with, the one the resulting baby could depend on the rest of his or her life. He watched as she stood, and mirrored her to politely shake her hand. "I've received the rest of your information from the hospital; I'll take everything from here. She wrote something quickly on her clipboard before looking up, meeting his eyes and she gave a soft smile. "I'll keep you updated on whenever the egg goes up for adoption. From there, it's up to you," she said, then simply turned and left, like a ghost into the cold midday. Raziel stared after her for a moment, both excitement and fear battling in his chest. He wanted so bad to be the new father of the baby, so he'd do his best to look like the perfect adopter.

A soft touch on his arm startled Raziel, and he turned to find the nurse from last night looking up at him, smiling. "Would you like to come see the little one before you leave? The egg seems to be stabilizing, so the doctor said you could peek in." Nodding, Raziel followed her quickly as Seraph simply laid back down, slipping back into slumber. It was a long walk to the nursery, and after a few moments of winding through halls they came to the egg's incubation room. Raziel cleaned his hands and arms well before slipping in; it was hot inside the room, but that was to be expected. He carefully maneuvered through the darkness to where a soft orange glow illuminated the egg, and he couldn't keep the smile hidden. Gently, he placed a hand on the egg's satin surface, amazed at the temperature difference from when he'd first held the dark shape.

"It's alright little one, you're going to pull through. Valeo, be strong. Because once you're born, you'll be amazing, no matter who gets the privilege of raising you," he murmured softly, pressing a tiny kiss to the egg's surface before his furred lips and calloused palm left the baby. With one last loving glance he left the room, following the nurse back out to the waiting room where he found Seraph standing again, staring at him with curious bi-colored eyes. "Come Seraph, let's go home. For now." Flipping out his phone and holding on his shoulder, Raziel waited for his boss to pick up as he secured the stallion's saddle back into place.

"Hello?"
"Hey Amethyst, it's Raziel."
"Hey! Is everything alright? How's the egg?"
"The nurse says it's stablizing; fingers crossed, it will be alright," he said, leading Seraph out into the chilly daylight.
"At least that's good news! Are you planning on adopting it? Even after the last adoption didn't go through?"
Raziel paused for a moment. "Yes," he said. "Yes. It's too much like my own history to ignore; only difference, I didn't have to battle the snow." And no one came to save me, he added silently.
"Well, you know everyone here at the ranch is more than willing to help. I'm sure its little paws would blend well with the cacophony of other noises!" As if on cue a massive roar came from the background, and Amethyst gave an indignant squeak. "That Ahzenai is going to be the death of me, I swear!"
Giving a short laugh, Raziel changed hands and vaulted onto his mount. "Well Seraph and I are headed home; I'm stopping by to get my things, and we'll be on the next flight."
"Text me when you get to the airport and I'll come pick you both up." The two said their goodbyes then, and the line went dead.

⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯

σηє ωєєк ℓαтєя

Raziel had returned back to Amethyst Ridge Ranch jet-lagged but focused; Amethyst had never seen him so dead set on anything like this before; granted he was focused and a very hard worker, but he always had a joke or an off-the-wall statement to break the serious air of competitions and training. This egg really got him going.

He'd spend the last week renovating his cabin, taking out anything he didn't need and storing it in a shed before cleaning and child-proofing the entire building, cabinets and all. He didn't drink or smoke, so those weren't something he had to worry about, but he did have to move the cages for his three pet mice and clean the wooden floor heavily from where some of the food had become stuck-on stains. The empty room he'd previously been using as storage was cleaned out and fixed up; they re-used one of the cribs that he and Sitala had purchased when they thought the Kiamara twins would be coming to live with them; he also reused the decorations, and after painting the room a soft lilac, he decorated the room beautifully, mixing the male and female decorations to be fair. After all, the sex of the baby would be just as much of a surprise. He even went so far as to sneak out and buy a Christmas tree and decorations for the rest of the house; don't get him wrong, Raziel loved Christmas, but he just didn't feel as though he had a reason to actually decorate until now.

Checking himself one last time in the mirror, Raziel brushed off his suit one last time before grabbing his keys and leaving, locking the door behind him. Man, how he hated this thing; it was stuffy and stiff, and he felt like he was choking from the tie around his neck. But, oh well, if it meant he had a better chance at impressing the adoption agents at Child Services, then it was more than worth it. The moment he'd picked up that egg in the park, Raziel knew that he'd do anything for that baby. And he meant anything.

The drive to town was long and silent, not even his radio played. The agent he'd met in the hospital had come to him for an interview, then a home check. Then he'd be allowed to begin to fill out paperwork and put his name in to give the little baby a home. His heart and stomach both fluttered at the thought of finally being a dad, and a goofy grin crossed his features and urged him to relax until he pulled into Denver, and made his way to the small coffeeshop where the agent had requested they meet. He checked himself in the mirror one last time before exiting the car, locking the Dodge and entering the small building; the aroma of coffee was almost as enticing as the sweet treats neatly lined in the display case, but he wasn't here for food. His fiery eyes easily found the agent in the nearly empty building, and he smiled warmly as the male Jelly Bean Dragon approached and politely took the seat across from her. "Good afternoon, ma'am."

"Good afternoon, Mr. Azrich. Are you ready to begin?" He nodded confidently, and she began to produce application papers; he breezed through them quickly, paying special attention to every single question and filling them out with detailed honesty. For a moment, it seemed as though the stream of forms were never ending; but soon enough the agent smiled and handed him the last piece, requiring only a dated signature. This time it was his turn to grin, and he handed it back along with her pen. "Good; now, paperwork aside, would you like to knock out the interview as well?"

"Yes ma'am," he answered confidently. "I'd like that very much."

She took out her notebook then, flipping open a page of question she'd written and grabbed a different pen. They went through each questions, everything from paychecks to line of work to "what if" situations, and Raziel realized this felt like an interrogation; granted, it had to be, to make sure the child would go to the best possible home. So he continued to answer each one with confidence. Finally she seemed to run out of questions, and as her pen floated over the page, he glanced at the lined paper to find it was the final two questions. "Why do you want to adopt the egg, Mr. Azrich?"

Raziel paused for a moment to collect his thoughts. "I know I'd mentioned it before, but I was in the same position as it is. I was left abandoned, and basically bounced from home to home until I ran away at seven. From then on I raised myself, and it got very lonely. I don't want this baby to ever feel lonely, not a day in its life, and with our similarity in pasts I feel like I can connect to it on a deeper level. Truth be told, I already do connect with him or her very deeply, from the moment I touched it's cold surface. I feel like I've already known it since the day it came into the world, even though it had only been a day." He paused again. "I've always wanted children, but I wanted to find my soul mate first and have an old-fashioned family to do things with, such as going to theme parks and the lake, going snow-sporting in the winter, everything you see the "perfect family" doing, though I don't expect perfection by any means. I just want someone to love me as I'll love them: unconditionally."

"Do you think not having a mate will hinder your ability to raise the child?"

"Not at all," he smiled. "I have my two best friends, both female, to help me raise her should I need it. But Amethyst, my boss and one of my best friends, has already agreed to put me on leave until the child is old enough to travel, so I'll be home 24/7 minus small errands and my exercises in the mornings. Sitala is a Kiamara who has plenty of experience with children, and she rarely travels so she'll be there to help me when Amethyst is out at a show. Along with that, we have a certified doctor that lives on property; she's both a human doctor and a veterinarian, and she tends to everyone on the ranch unless it's something extremely severe, something that requires a hospital visit."

Nodding softly, she closed the notebook and stood. "Alright, I'll get your papers filed and call you to arrange a home check."

Raziel copied her, and shook her hand firmly but not roughly. "Thank you ma'am, you don't know how much this means to me," he said softly, a small smile gracing his golden lips. She simply nodded, and outside the shop they parted ways. Raziel climbed back into his Challenger. If he was to be a dad, he might have to trade his car in, but that would be okay. Once again, anything for the little dark egg.

Later that evening, showered and resting in his red plaid pajama pants, Raziel sat in his living on his couch, feet propped up on the coffee table in front of him. In his paws he held a mug of hot chocolate, his fiery eyes staring up at the star that adorned the top of his tree. He smiled gently, imagining having a little pair of paws to bring sound to his empty home. For the rest of that night, all he could think was...

All I want for Christmas is them.

The Best Gift Our Family Could Ask For

I know that some forms look different on different devices, so here are a few screenshos of what mine is (mostly) supposed to look like.

Username(s): ~Snowy Owl~ (formerly ~Static~) and

JBD-hangout account: ~Snowy Owl~
Parent JBD(s): Toothless and Amanda Lynn
Name: Nicholas, or Nichole Sonata, depending on
the gender.

Why do you want to adopt him/her?: I felt a special
connection with this egg the moment that I saw them. In
some ways, I know exactly what this bean feels like-
Although I've never experienced abandonment on the
same scale as s/he has. I've always felt a need to take in
something that has no home of it's own, that has no one
to love it. I've saved moths from spiderwebs, seeing
value in every life. I see just as much value in this egg's
life, and I'd love to see it fulfilled. When I was younger,
I'd always daydreamed of going to a big city, and
rescuing alleycats, stray dogs, unwanted pets. I've never
understood why some people hate animals for how they
look, or act, or even how old they are. I'd give this bean
a wonderful home, a place where it could be raised and
loved, and I'm sure that Amanda Lynn and Toothless
would as well. <3

What will you do if you won him/her?:
I would
almost definitely keep this bean. I do believe I've
fallen in love. <3

The young boy threw up the covers. It was finally
Christmas! He raced down the stairs and into the
living room, nearly tripping over the egg which
rested under his family's Christmas tree.
"What's... this?" He asked, crouching to read the
tag on the piece of red string attached to it:
"To our child,
we hope you have a wonderful Christmas. We got
you your very first animal companion. We hope
you like them!"
...What kind of present is this? He thought. A
lump of coal? Pet?! He grabbed a large black
marker and scrawled out his parent's handwriting,
instead inscribing:
"The worst Christmas present
ever."
On the tag. He stomped out the front door and
into the freezing, snowy world with it in hand,
running to the park with tears in his eyes. Was
this his only present? A lump of coal his parents
so meanly called a "pet"? After a while of walking,
he found himself in the park. He chucked the
egg, and turned around, sulking all the way home.
Didn't his parents care about him at all?

Toothless sat on a park bench in the JBD park
with Amanda Lynn leaning against him. It was so peaceful
here... He held Amanda's paw, enjoying the quiet. His breath
made frosty clouds which drifted upward, spiraling into the
grey sky before vanishing. He gazed around at the trees,
before noticing something dark and smokey colored laying
in the snow. Now very curious, he stood up.
"Amanda, cold you hang on a second? I thought I saw
something..."
He padded toward the object across the powdery snow. As
he reached it, he leaned down and gently touched the
object with a paw. It didn't move, but he could feel a slight
tinge of warmth to it. He picked it up and held it next to his
face to further examine it. It shook slightly in his paws, and
his expression softened as he realized it was a small egg. He
was about to read the message attached to the red string
which looped around the egg, when Amanda Lynn approached
him. She kneeled to read it over his shoulder, then stood up
and stomped a foot, furious at the writer of the message.
"Worst present ever... Who could say such a thing about
their baby?! I'm surprised the authorities didn't take it away
from those heartless "parents"..." She growled, her rant
slowly decrescendoing into grumbles. Toothless huffed. What a
horrid note! He stood up with it and looked to Amanda, sharing
the same thought with her. He carefully placed it in his pouch,
and it slowly stopped shivering.
Amanda and Toothless both knew they had to save this poor
child.

As Toothless entered his house with Amanda Lynn close behind
him, Katniss rushed to greet them, and their other children
clustered around them, chirps of excitement in the air.
"What's that in your pouch, Daddy? It's the same color as you.
Oh, it's shaking!" Katniss exclaimed, reaching for the egg,
only to have Toothless put up a paw in a silencing motion.
"Hang on for a minute, Katniss." He said, giving her a small
smile. He took the egg out of his pouch and cradled it in his
tail, before walking over to the fire. He gently wrapped it in a
blanket and placed it near the fireplace, smiling as it shook,
moving slightly closer to the heat.
It was home at last.

The egg had been in their household for a couple of days
now, and the family was buzzing with excitement for the
holidays, and for the day when their newest bundle of
joy would hatch. Amanda Lynn knew that she and
Toothless considered their present to be the egg, but she
wanted to give the child inside, their gift, a present of
their own for when they hatched, even if it might have
been after Christmas.
One night, while she was contemplating this, she thought
of the perfect gift that they could give the child to help
them feel more like part of the family.
She went over to living room and sat down beside
Toothless on the couch.
"Sweetie, I think that we should give our present their
own set of wings," she told him, beaming at him as she
waited for his response.
"Already? They haven't even hatched yet sweetheart,"
he chuckled lightheartedly as he drew her into a hug.
Amanda Lynn laughed, "Well, yes, I know it's a bit early,
but I was hoping that you might be able to help me out
with the design, just like always when we made our
children's wings."
"Of course honey," he told her, smiling at her warmly
before kissing her, "in fact, I already have a good idea
for what we can do..."

Later that day, the two had finished the wire framework,
and they were starting on the cloth which would stretch over
it. Amanda Lynn had started with a piece of black cloth, and
with suggestions and a bit of help from Toothless, they were
beginning to embroider it with white threads, like snow,
dusting the top of the wings.

Katniss, meanwhile, had an idea to welcome the child to the
family. She had slipped the red string off of the egg and
whited out the horrible message that had originally been
attached. She replaced it with:
"The bestest gift our familee cood ask fur."
When Amanda and Toothless finished the wings, Katniss
quickly replaced the string around the egg, less tightly and
more comfortably. Her parents gently placed the wings on
the egg, as though they were a mother bird's wings
protecting her egg.
And what she had written was very true.

Will you love this child, no matter what?

Amanda Lynn & Toothless wrote:"Oh my stars, yes, of course we will love this child no matter what, we would love the child no matter what gender they are, what sexuality they may be, we will love this child for who they are."

What does the rest of your family think about the child?

Amanda Lynn & Toothless wrote:"We have discussed this matter with our three children, Katniss, Hiccup, and Bowen and both us were pleasantly surprised by how excited our children were at the prospect of a new sibling. Our eldest, Katniss, is thrilled at the prospect of having another younger sibling to play with, love, and protect; Hiccup is also excited and has said he'll draw pictures for them and be really gentle, and Bowen, our youngest son would most definitely make for a loving and protective big brother to our newest family member. We, as a whole family, will embrace this child for who and what they are and will support them in all that they do. We shall love this child and treat them just as we do our own, with unconditional love and support, and our children will treat them as they would each other and will be loving and supportive towards them."

how would you react if you found out your child was being bullied, and how would you deal with it?

Amanda Lynn & Toothless wrote:"It would depend on certain factors, but if our child was being bullied we would tell them, just as we do all our children, to try and shake it off if they're being bullied verbally. They should not be afraid to be themselves and express themselves and they should never let anyone make them feel ashamed to be who they are and love what they do. If they are being physically bullied, we would advise them to turn report the bully to a teacher, principal, or the bully's parents. We would also advise them to stand up for themselves as well. We would also discuss with them the fact that bullies are often cowards and sometimes, they're even bullied themselves. We would share with them our own life experiences about bullying and help them through their situations. If need be, we ourselves will step in to stop the bullying, although, considering our other children, I'm sure that our newest child would be well looked after and protected by the three of them."

What approach would you take on this child's education before pre-k/kindergarten?

Amanda Lynn & Toothless wrote:"We would take the same approach that we have/are taking with our other three children. We like to create a love of reading and learning, so we often read stories to our children before bed and whenever they might ask it of us as well as have plenty of books for them to pick up and read. We would also try to make every moment a learning moment if there is something to be learned from it. We would also help to teach them how to make friends, we might make use of television shows to help aid us in teaching these lessons. If we notice our child has a learning disability, we will make sure to help them out and work through their disability and make sure that they understand that just because they have a learning disability, it does not mean that they are stupid and not capable of doing things or getting better at doing them."

At what age would you trust your child to be responsible enough to stay home alone, or light a match?

Amanda Lynn & Toothless wrote:"Hmm....none of our children have really gotten to this stage, however we have both agreed that we would trust our children to be responsible enough to stay at home alone when they are ten or eleven, or when they are able to do their chores without having to be told or are able to show that they can care for a pet on their own. We would not trust them to light a match until they are old enough to understand the dangers of fire and to know what they have to do in order to be fire safe as well as what do in case of a fire. So we would say as early as 7 years old or as late as 10 years old."
