Apparently I got in a hurry somewhere and completely screwed up the number I when I was numbering adoptables for awhile here, so sadly it looks like this baby isn't number 1000 and I need to go in and fix my botched numbering >.< this tolter is still up for adoption though! Thank you to fire-rose for catching my mistake! Sometimes I dont even notice it when i've keyed in the wrong number somewhere and it throws things off

Kodiak whinnied helplessly as the humans strode away from her. She tried to follow but her gangly little foal legs caused her to trip over and over again. Then they were gone from here view, she collapsed on the ground. The humans had bought a mare to carry their supplies during a trip to Kodiak Island. They had just thought she was fat and the seller did not inform them that she was actually due to foal any day. Sadly the humans were working her pretty hard and birthing Kodiak was just to much work. The humans did not want to take care of the foal and were annoyed that "she" caused their pack horse to die. They figured the bears, wolves or the elements would do the little thing in. A bear did come along but it was a mother who had lost her cubs in a flood. She heard the foals cries and something kicked in. Oddly enough the bear took the foal in as her own. The bear nursed Kodiak and named her for the island because she was so amazing. The foal grew up to be just as brave, strong and independent as a bear. The other bears learned to accept her as one of them. People who visited the island began to call her Kodiak Spirit because of how elusive she was. They didn't understand how a horse was just standing in the water with all the bears, or how she seemed there on second and then gone the next. She was just smart, her mother had taught her to fear humans and after their betrayal she had no problem with that. Kodiak is happy to live out her days here with the bears.
