Most people who ride her find her to be a big pain and she has earned the nickname " Sass Queen". She often sasses at the other horses to, even though she is pretty short, she still nips the big horses!
History:
Spice was the smallest of all the foals born at the farm. They all pushed her around and some even ignored her. When Spice was a year old she decided this had to change. The next time the famer through the hay in she shoved herself to the front. The other bigger foals attempted to push her back but she bit one of them! The horses stared in shock and stopped trying to push her. The next time the foals had a competition to see who could jump the highest, Spice came over and entered it. Through sheer determination Spice managed to jump the highest and slowly she gained the others respect.
At two years old Spice was sold to a man who trained horses in a very cruel way. He had broken many a horses spirit bit not Spice. Even with everything he did to her she never stopped fighting. One day the man had enough of Spice and beat her badly. As Spoce lay in the stall, unable to stand, she thought of how she was letting him rule over her. No longer would that happen. When Spice was heeled enough, he took her out and thinking he had broken her, shoved a harsh bit in her moth. Spice let him and stood there patiently, with a smirk the man put on the saddle. Not so feisty now was she! He thought triumphantly, untying her from the post and lifting up into the saddle. The second he hit the saddle Spice went ballistic, bucking, rearing and swerving about. The man sawed on the reins viciously but Spice would not be beaten this time. She bucked hard enough to send him flying over her head, h elnaded in the dirt with a shocked look. He stood and went after the horse but she simply dodged away, so he went to the gate and swing it open, intent on getting the gun. As soon as the gate was open Spice raced past him and up the driveway ad up to the road. The rescue got a call about a horse wandering about and found the poor girl wandering the roads. She had to get stitches in her mouth were the nasty bit had cut her and a vet came and checked her other wounds. Spice has many scars now but on the inside she is I wounded, she as strong as before.
Spice stayed at the rescue for many years and has been ridden by some people, most just don't want to deal with her fiery nature. Sadly when theirs broke, Spice was in a very grassy paddock. She is not very happy that she was covered on muck and grass and that the people left her like that! Then they put her on a trailer and she ended up here, where she is already sassing her new horse pals.
