What is a Lampyrie?
Closely related to the feline family, they have a body similar to the shape of a cat. They have tails like a firefly and small antennae on the top of their heads. Their tail, eyes and antennae let out an eerie glow that helps with navigation and hunting during the night. Lampyries live in large groups with other lampyries, but are normally hard to see because of their great speed.

Lampyrie name: Malachi
Personality: A real social butterfly. Malachi or Mal for short loves to hang with anyone and everyone. He is a smooth talker and loves to help those he can but there are times that his brain gets too filled. He becomes snappy and a loner. Those close to him have learned to allow him to be alone in these times. It lasts about two days and in this time he goes off on his own and begins to collect the one thing that interests him.
Story about how this Lampyrie happend to collect seaweed:
Malachi has always been the way he is now. His moods swinging back and forth so much that very few could keep track of them. One night it became particularly bad and he decided to run. He ran farther and faster than he ever had before. Leaving his Troop behind. Leaving the only family and friends he had ever known. He ran until his legs couldn't carry him anymore ending up at the shore. The one place that seemed to help when things began to turn sour. Laying down on the shore the water splashing around his outstretched paws. Smiling at the small waves he allowed the power to flow from inside him and felt the waves increase their size covering all but his head in the water. Falling asleep just like that he didn't wake till he felt something tangling his white paws. Startling awake he stumbled to his feet crashing back down once, as he found his front legs tangled in a green leafy substance. Looking down he realized the object that was entangling him was sea weed and huffed at it, tossing the plant away from he turned a blind eye to it. But soon found himself entangled once again. Growling down at it he threw it farther away as he stood in the water watching as the sun fell below the horizon. Sighing again he curled up on the shore knowing hat he would be awoken in the morning to the tide, but he didn't care and soon he fell asleep, tears in his eyes from the war that was raging inside him. When he awoke the next morning he realized that once again he was covered in seaweed, his fur wet from the tide hitting him. Jumping up he was about to throw the seaweed off but stopped, realizing that he felt better with it around him... That is when he found that the seaweed that he uses is not just an accessory but a safety blanket. Every month he travels to that exact spot and searches for new seaweed, placing his old and dying seaweed back into the ocean to allow it to replenish the growing seaweed. In thanks for the seaweeds help he infuses slight power into it to allow it to survive.
